Man, the good'ol days. When you said "green up" that brought back so many memories lol. I would buy a PS3 if they did a Socom 2 remake. Keep the gameplay the same with HD graphics. I would Give sony my money just based on that.

Socom and Socom 2 were the best games I've ever played in my life. To this day, I'd give them both a 10 / 10 and name them as my favorite games of all time. I always had an amazingly fun time on these games. They were pure awesome. Neither COD nor Battlefield will ever have anything on Socom or Socom 2.
This game is a classic! Some of the best online gameplay I've ever had to this day. The user below me is right. They need to change small things like clan improvements, better servers, and minor gameplay flaws and this game would be perfect (in hd of course). They would have my money !
The only way to remake this game is to not change a thing. Get rid of hacks/glitching and thats it. I would seriously pay 40 bucks for this exact game again just on ps3. 1 mic at a time the "magic bullets" the headshots the camping with the hostages the little bit of lag to actually have gun battles so its not just see a guy point click and hes dead, hiding when you are the last seal left to get that draw. RAH HEE LAAAA
Oh man the memories I have of this game. Whenever I play a game like COD, Halo, Battlefield or any other shooting oriented game I hold them to the standard of Socom 2 and in my personal opinion none of these games have reached the standard yet. Even though the graphics aren't as good in Socom 2, I feel like the game mechanics were the best by far and I love third person point of view. Every other game is first person view which to me sucks

@evnalz777 Socom 4 lacks the ability to choose between stealth/ full out force. In socom 1-3 and Combined Assault there was always a way to beat the game without being detected. In Socom 4, the only way you can remain undetected is if you play the missions with Forty-Five, which just plain stupid.

Yeah, I actually started playing this game again around the time this was recorded and I was surprised by how often I could join a pretty full room. To me, this is the absolute perfect formula in terms of a fast-paced tactical shooter. Nothing comes close. It just shows how stupid the modern gen sprint function really is.

how do i know what can go online like i have need for speed carbon,resident evil 4 and naruto ultimate ninja 3 for ps2 and i have my ps2 online.... so if i figure out what games i have that can go online i guess ill play with any one... i hae more than those few games but ths is an example

people still have they ps2 and still play online games on the system why isn't sony taking notices some of ther server is not shut down i play alot of ps2 games online the different is the games r cheaper this is why sony did not made the ps2 compatable
a few years back I got bored and popped in socom 1 and there was like 10 people online at 3 in the morning. that's dedication. I miss socom 1 & 2. easily will go down as two of the best shooters on the ps2, maybe all time. The newer socoms just don't have the same feel as socom 1 and 2.

Holy fuck that is awesome on how the servers are STILL up! Now that you look at the game nowadays the draw distance and animation were pretty bad but SOCOM 2 was just pure fun which overshadowed everything lol.
Plus if you got into the beta before this released, you were considered an "elite" on the PlayStation Forums lol. Ahhh the memories!

I thought Sony basically turned off online for all PS2 games? Medal Of Honor Rising Sun died when I was still playing it for fun cause they said Sonys PS2 online is gone..weird
