Great stuff. As I struggled with my first marriage and subsequently my work in 1976, this

song gave me the impetus to cry and carry on. I am 60 now. This is quite poignant, but I

can remember "Under One Roof" as a steeling point in my life. A couple of years earlier,

The Rubettes were same bubblegum pop as Bay City rollers, Glitter Band,& cheesy pop

of the time.Sugar Baby Love, Juke Box Jive,etc. They matured in 2 years as I did then

Diese Stimme!! Je öfter man es hört, um so mehr fällt auf, wie wunderbar-perfekt sie diesen Song bringen ...

Band und Sänger halten sich fast bewegungslos völlig im Hintergrund, und nur die gefühlvoll-zurückhaltenden Variationen der Stimme beim Gesang bringen eine ganz leise "Dramatik" rein. Besser kann man den Text und sein Thema nicht würdigen - perfekt "leise" inszeniert!!

John's sanft-kräftiger Stimme könnte ich ewig zuhören - und sie passt perfekt zum Lied und zum Thema! *dahinschmelz*

If I hear this song of the Rubettes, I get creeps and tears in the eyes. At that time the text was very courageous, because love among same-sexual counted as a taboo topic and is sadly still today an occasion for many to tip out mockery about homosexual. I write this as a heterosexual who is for the fact that homosexuality should be tolerated, finally, everywhere, because, nevertheless, the central issue is fine that one becomes happy together. Lots of love from Germany.

I remember going into Woolies to buy this for a friend, because he was too scared to buy it for himself. So sad to think that this song hasn't dated much & there are still lads out there today, who are just as scared as my friend was thirty-four years ago.
