Anybody else furious that Toyota was so careless to photoshop one of their own FJ62 Land Cruisers to be "crushed" in that commerical? They could've used a shitty car from the competition, but no, they crushed one of their heritage cars. Way to go, Toyota.

Toyota does make great cars/trucks, but it makes me sick that all these car companies are so proud of making it harder on the working people, which only want/need a $2000 truck. For example at my local KIA dealership there was a 1994 Toyota T100 4WD truck that was traded in on a Kia Rio. Why, that could of been a cheap perfect reliable work truck that could of earned me lots of money over the years. I mean come on, enough on the rant, this program is very wrong, and should not be supported.

Wrong about what? The ZR1 and Viper ACR being faster than the GTR (that was a good one- you were trying to say that the GTR was faster, quicker, and handled better than both of those cars- LOL)? The Ford Fusion being more reliable and more fuel efficient than it's Japanese competition? Ford, Chevy, and Dodge trucks all being able to carry heavier loads and pull more weight than the Japanese competition? Tell me where I'm wrong, please.

What I don't get is this is a Toyota commercial, yet in the beginning they crush a Land Cruiser. Why wouldn't you say crush a Ford, or a Chevy, or some other competing car?

Its an FJ60 or FJ62 (no way to tell from the side), from the window sills down and an early Bronco or Scout from the glass up. As it is being crushed, you can see the rear doors, but not until then.

you can tell its a FJ62 from the side by looking at the front corner. there is just a clear lens, rather than the 2 tone orange and clear that the 60 has.

Not that it even really matters to a BIG RICH GREEDY car company like Toyota, but I just I think it's despicable that they are trying to trick people into thinking that they can bring in any old vehicle. Also, there is nothing about this program that guarantees the older 'gas guzzlers' will not just be resold to someone else and remain on the road continuing to guzzle gas...

yes, I know they are required to be sold as scrap, but everyone knows that vehicles scrapped, by insurance companies, etc., often end up back on the road so the same will hold true for this scam... not only that, but this scam says that the new RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED vehicle "can offer as little as a 2 MPG improvement over the old one to qualify"...

I love my FJ60, and will not be getting rid of it in this program, but a 2 MPG improvement over it amounts to 15%. Taken in the aggregate nationwide, that's really not too shabby. Just sayin'

This latest government waste program is nothing but a big scam designed as a under the table bailout program for the big rich greedy car companies. This commercial implies you can trade in any old vehicle, like this photoshoped hybrid of a early 80's FJ60 and a Scout?, a non-existent vehicle, neither of who's parents would be eligible for this scam program since they are over 25 years old.

And for the commercial? Ever heard of false advertising? Nearly, if not all commercials stretch the truth.

success? success in making the public THINK they are getting something - a reduction in price on ABSURDLY overpriced vehicles- and they are still paying WAY more than they are worth- the gov't has given the car cartels billions in bailouts and then the lemmings are running out in droves to buy into the lies. It's not a Scout, but it's not a Landcruiser either. They have based this generated model of a car based on the 60 series Landcrusier.

I would crush any toyota over any clunker any day, the gov't is just destroying history, and that is not a land cruiser if you knew anything about cars you would know that it is a 73 or 74 International Scout 2 one of the best or the best off road trucks ever made, but i bet you have never heard of International.
