I saw a perfect spiral in the western sky over Florida. It was in a thin high cloud formation. The spiral resembled a perect saw blade. Its had rings colored like a rainbow, The rainbow colors in my opinion were from water dropplets reflecting late afternoon sunlight. @paulbottomley42 Definitely, the Aurora Australis is probably just as nice, but the problem is that you have to go to Antarctica to see it properly. Thanks to the warm atlantic current (and the fact that the north pole is only ocean) we don't see extreme temperatures, even at 70 degrees northern latitude. If you travel to 70 degrees southern, it's completely different though :)

The first part of the video is the failed russian Bulava missile spiraling out of control on a test launch from the White Sea. The last part of the video shows several great pictures of aurora borealis (northern lights). They always look like this. Especially when you take a long exposure photo. If people doubt it, they should take a vacation in northern countries to see for themselves what it looks like. :)

@jalidav1 You have to remember that the missile failed on the last stage, which means it was outside the atmosphere. If the failure was fuel leaking from the sides, or maybe control thrusters firing continously, it could explain its spinning. Outside the atmosphere, everything looks different, and a spiral would be perfect because there is no air to affect it. Its spinning out of control, and in low earth orbit....You can even tell when it occurred. @ThePapabear27 addressing the last part. Im assuming by the blue you mean the Norway Spiral. Keep in mind it may look like its coming up from the ground but in fact it is in low earth orbit, and the gravitational effect is much less than at the surface.

@ThePapabear27 lol well they technically are in space which is why you don't see them falling. The rockets while they are spinning out of control are continuing on their trajectory into space. Which is why the spiral is in such a way that it seems to be arching across the sky. Had that not happened people would have recorded this mistaking it for a UFO or Meteor because at this point this rocket would have a very bright white, and yellow glow to it from the refracted sunlight on the atmosphere.

Take that part between 1:18, and 1:20, and compare it to a rocket of the same type. Now I dont know what type of rocket this is or I would look but I can assure you that this is a rocket that failed during stage separation. Had it succeeded you would have seen it seem to disappear,and then reappear in what would look like an explosion when the engines ignited
