  • Ah ok, i didnt know that about HDR. Thats cool, and a neat way of doing it

  • Is this not HDR?

  • @LaymanGaming No, it's real-time radiosity. HDR is a trick to try and extend the number of colours / brightness your monitor can show by making the rest of the screen darker than, say, a bright object- radiosity is how lighting reflects onto surrounding environments in-game

  • This isn't real time ray tracing. I don't know the exact technique used but valve has stated in technical presentations that such ambient lighting is pre-computed. As far as I know they have used this technique in every game since Half Life 2.

  • Gmod

  • So.... How do I enable this?

  • What, lights? I don't get it... it looks the same old Gmod/Source to me...

  • @fiddlebender88 Notice that when he hovered it over a bright surface, the cube got brighter. It did not get brighter due to there being more lighting, but because more light was reflected onto the cube from this surface.

  • Is this functionality built into Source or did you somehow write it yourself?

(Has never written a mod or anything before)

  • that's gmod, right? how could I get this to work?

  • Seems to update kinda slow

  • Why the FUCK isn't this in portal 2?

  • @xalener

Because it doesn't work with projectors. It theoretically can't. Projectors aren't real lights.

  • @PelPix Well Projectors aren't used everywhere.
