@SuperCd13 length isnt much, wheelbase, concave, mounting, stiffness and weight are more important. Its all up to you whether you want a drop or drop thru, aggressive or more mellow concave, or a stiff board.

I recommend a stiff, aggressive concave, a wheelbase from 26-32 inches, and a drop or drop through board, since you will have a board that isnt all unpredictably flexy, better handling and have more torque for pushing a slide out

I'm 20 years old and I weigh 120 pounds. I noticed that the apex has a fly, middle, and cruiser weight class. What's the difference from flexy and stiff? What is the cause?

@DFXYXENO the flyweight ranges from 65-170 lbs, the middle weight ranges from 130-250 lbs, and the cruiser weight ranges from 190-260 lbs. You would want to get the flyweight flex. If you went with the middle weight, it would be pretty stiff and may be somewhat difficult for you to maneuver.

I want to be able to do freeride, cruise around college on the flat, go down some small hills and I have my eye on the Apex 37 because its pretty small and light so easy for me at college, Do you think there is a better board for what I want?

@guitarman1234567891 if you're doing large hills and high speeds then you would be best with a freeride board. If you want the Apex for its durability and for freestyle, then get the Apex 40, which handles higher speeds much better than the Apex 37

@martindesacramento both boards are a ton of fun. The Tan Tien is a bit longer, drop through, and is made out of bamboo, epoxy, and fiberglass. It's a bit more flexible. The Apex 37 is more durable for freestyle riding and will not snap at the neck or bottom out because of the carbon reinforcement bar.

@newbielongboarder the Apex 37 is a good all-around board. It's geared toward freestyle riding which is why it has a carbon reinforcement bar, which makes the board very durable. It's also good for some freeriding, or even just cruising and carving. At your height and weight, you would want the middle weight flex. You can either stick with Original trucks and standard springs for a surfy feel, or red springs for a surfy, but stable feel. If you want stiffer trucks, try out Bear Grizzly trucks

@slowmo179 You can either stick with Original trucks with red or white springs, they're great for sliding. Or, if you plan on riding at higher speeds, then a bushing truck. I personally like Bear trucks a lot. You can keep the standard bushing in them and they're great for sliding and DH. You can also flip the hanger in one direction to make the truck more or less stable.

@stickymavrick the purple wheels are upgrades. They're Orangatang Stimulus 83a wheels. They cost an extra $30. The standard wheels are Kryptonic 70mm and can range in different colors, depending on what the manufacturer sends us.
