  • Holy Kadelka

  • The face of Alex Rodriguez is like: "You little bastard!!" XD

  • That is not a eephus that is a amazingly accurate lob, haha

  • anyone else find just watching the catchers in this video hilarious?

  • Th eephus is so amazing

  • Who didn't see the giraffe coming?

  • Catcher is thinking "Throw a Changeup Kaz, I think he has your fastball down"

    **eephus thrown**

    Catcher:"thats nice"

  • what song is that in the beginning?

  • lololol

  • Now I can tell my friends that I pitch like a professional pitcher.

  • 1:05 for crying asian

  • 0:59 he wasnt dead lol

  • TDN DB HTN TNOK

  • OMG did you see how off balance he got arod thats a pitcher :)

  • 4 meters, 20 centimeters? I know what I'm about to go do:)

  • wasn't there an american or two who did this? somehow i remember ted williams hitting a home run off a "blooper" pitch or something.

  • @tomitstube yeah there was a yankee pitcher that did it.. forget his name though.

  • @tomitstube The guy Ted Williams hit it off of was Rip Sewell. His blooper was pretty much an eephus. The Kid hit the homer in the 1946 All-Star Game.

  • @halbfingerg ~ yep, that's the one, thanks. there's quite a story behind that pitch. it was the only homer sewell ever gave up with the eephus, williams swung and missed on the first one. he dared sewell to throw another, sewell obliged and williams hit that one out. williams later admitted he was way out of the batters box and could have been called out.

  • @tomitstube I think I remember hearing the story once.

A brief version of it is included here as part of a "History of the Eephus"

    bats.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/07/30/a-brief-history-of-the-eephus-pitch/

  • 0:38 That would be sooo confusing! That is the way it should be pitched!

  • Tsuyoshi Nishioka cant hit an eephus. Better relay that to the Tigers...

  • LOL LOOK AT A-ROD SWING LIKE A BITCH FUCK THE YANKEES

  • suro boru? Them Japanese are to the point

  • Hahaha, this pitcher is awesome! :D

  • The first beat was sick.

  • 3:24

  • he pitched to A ROD with this throw ? he is crazy

  • @titino5959

he is brilliant, it got him out didnt it?

  • Was that guy crying at 1:07?

  • Funny. YOu can understand it although you really can't understand it.

  • Lawls it's a gravity curve

  • How does he put the 10 foot downward break?

  • can someone tell me how fast was his normal pitch that he threw from 2:12 ? I want to know the difference.

  • thats wrong, its higher up like number 3, the rest make the eephus look like a fag

  • uh Asians can't play baseball to save their lives? you must be an idiot or something lets see Japan won world baseball classic in 06 and 09 and South Korea won gold in 08, Japan actually won gold in 1984 when it was a demonstration sport, you're a damn fool faisdh

  • this dudes a frickin queer, makes us Asians look bad, gay porno yeah

  • most of those pithes would be balls because its judged where it goes over the plate not where it lands

  • A-Rod was like "what the fuck was that?"

  • which stadium is the first one with the mud/dirt infield

  • Notorious, great post. I love how everybody assumes that just because a pitch isn't 95 mph, that it'll be easy to hit it out. Everybody needs to get a clue and realize 80% of pitching is about keeping the hitter off balance aka be one step ahead of the batter.

  • I love how they all fail!

  • one time i threw an eephus to a batter twice in a row... He swung SOOOOO early. he must have thought i was gonna follow that eephus up with a fastball

  • thats not an eephus, more like a beer league softball pitch.

  • does asians, they can't play baseball to save their lives

  • @faisdhfiaehtuiawe i think your just mad because you weren't good enough to advance beyond little league baseball faisdh, just admit it

  • @faisdhfiaehtuiawe OH that explains why the two teams the world baseball classic finals were both from asia, americans just LET them win because white people are gods and can't do anything wrong right? it was chivalry to an inferior race so i guess i should bow down to you to make time to even reference us asians you infinitely superior white master

  • asian sports science!

  • why did they censor the baseball? was its nipples showing?

  • lol even A Rod cant hit it

  • Next time he faced arod he tried that again ill just say he gave one yankees fan a souvenir

  • after a pitch like eephus it makes a fastball look like 150mph XD

  • how dose he throw it tho

  • @epicfailpyscho grip like 4 seam fastball then lightly toss into air towards plate

  • I feel extraordinarily lucky for being able to understand japanese.

  • It mitgh is easy to do a bunt...

  • its hard to understand physics in Japanese but it's awesome when he gets A-Rod on the pitch.

  • there was a HOMERUN somebody hitted off a ephus but its pretty rare

  • lol thats cool

  • he embarrases a-rod and leaves him saying to himself wtf LOL

he screws up the radar gun at 0:54

the guy at 1:07 looks like he's about to cry or is already crying

  • @dadawg618 nice comment haha XD

  • Doesn't he look like a bit of Matsui younger version?

  • greatest Cleveland Indians player of all time???

  • 1. If you don't swing, the next pitch is most likely going to be a fastball which is twice as fast and really catches you off.

    2. You do swing and make contact it's not going anyway because you double stepped. player are conditioned to step as soon as the ball is released and because the ball takes twice as long to get there they take another step and throw themselves off balance because their feet are two wide at that point.

    3. You swing and miss, making yourself look like a jackass

  • @NotoriousX5 I think the easiest way to avoid fooling yourself while facing his "slow pitch" is to not pay attention for it, hope it's a ball, and look fastball on his next pitch.

  • @NotoriousX5 JUST DONT SWING IT SHOULNDT BE CALLED A STRIKE BECAUSE IT DOESNT CROSSESS THE PLATE A STRIKE

  • @NotoriousX5

    perfect description, rofl

  • @NotoriousX5 You when this is fucking funny? When you throw it and people just look at it as if its a fricken alien...

  • @NotoriousX5 You fucking ignorant Hillbilly fuck, get back to the barn, your goats are waiting for your "love" LOL:)

  • @NotoriousX5 more like 3-4 times or something depending on the pitcher

    Eephus pitch is usually 20-35mph

    Mlb fastball is 89-105mph

  • @NotoriousX5 4. you square up and make solid contact for a line-drive single. The problem is, most guys recognize it and then decide to try and punish the pitcher for trying it by blasting a homer, instead of just getting on base.

  • Hard to hit.

Have to hit it at a certain point.

Also because it is so different from all the other pitches, as a batter is trained to hit a ball a certain way.

Also makes it hard for the umpire to call.

Not a pitch you can throw all the time.

Does remind me of a Matt Morris curveball though, albeit a lot higher.

  • eephius ptch isnt that great

it is only 53 mph on american meters, 83km=53mph

  • @JayZfromBrooklyn its not hwo fast you throw it. its how you mess up there swing and they hit it in and you can fieldd it

  • he is homo video University days

  • lol arod was like WTF

  • i understand the concept of the pitch but i feel if the ball happens to it the sweet spot i dont see how it cant be an extra base hit...ya know?

  • his earlier thros looked like a lob late on it looks like a really good breaking ball

  • wow he got A-rod on that pitch

  • laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa como se dice esto en chino

  • @naterajohnny que no es chino, que pendejo

  • to iBlue69

nope, Yu Darvish is really young and hes good. but hes becoming better and has future like Tim Lincecum but hes not the best in whole world he might be the best in Japan and I'm Korean and currently i know that Japanese baseball is better than Korean baseball but i just hate that when Japanese baseball players like Bichiro and Jojhima talking shit about Korean baseball and shit and Yu Darvish? Im not a hater but there's Tim Lincecum, dude? The youngest Cy Young Winner?? Wow

  • I don't respect a team named after a crappy phone company!!

  • Asians can't play baseball?? I live in Japan and have been to many Yokohama Baystars games and let me tell you these dudes can play ball!

  • The BayStars? I beg to differ with the exception of Murata, Hamana no Bancho, and Uchikawa. The SoftBank Hawks, now there's a team for ya!

  • Hell, I'll even go the extra mile on this one: Japanese pitchers > American pitchers.

  • yah nolan ryan - randy johnson- cy young-roger clemons-greg maddoux- sandy koufax....name a asian hall of fame pitcher.... dont talk out of you ass you retard

  • @sexychrisb lol we don't even have this kind of analysis in ESPN. Sad!!!

  • amazin pitch but to slow

  • Isnt the point of this pitch to be slow?

  • yea that pitch is supposed to be slow and EXTREMELY unexpected lol. and you can see its effectiveness at 0:59 you see the batter just choke up before the pitch is even close. i throw an eephus on average 3 times a game.

great out pitch....not K out though lol

  • 3 times? jeesus.

  • 85-87 mph fastball, 2 seam, power curve, hard slider, -10 mph palmball. and when a 42 mph eephus pitch you used to hit when you were 8 years old comes at when your ready to scoop up a power pitch...it simply embaresses hitters lol

  • thats why a-rod grounded out.

and your right asians can't play baseball haha

especially that ichiro guy.....1971 hits in 1384 games? terrible...

    over 3000 career hits...brutal

  • thats funny

i thought you were saying years for a second

  • you fuckin fagget shut up you would piss your pants to bat against this guy

  • You're an idiot. Japanese and Korean baseball is one of the best in the world.

Japan is the defending World Classic baseball champions.

Check this guy out. Yu Darvish is one of the best pitchers in Japan, and possibly the best pitcher in the world right now.

  • Is he in the MLB?

  • He pitched for the Indians in 04 and 05, but now he pitches for the Fighters in Japan.

  • Shame you don't understand Japanese.

  • well thats all i hear when i hear them talk

  • Oh man. That's also a shame. I hope you're not trying to learn any foreign languages. You don't have the ear to learn anything new.

  • I believe you.

  • wtf it stays up in the air for like 20 seconds lol

  • craazy

  • nice
