@mrm19063 I'm amazed at my moisture contol system (the V3) - never miss a start, no early or late drone sound, and no wet reeds. Perhaps he should get one (if he doesn't use a sheepskin bag) !

@piperbob2 the V3 drier system also starves your drones of air with gadgets (valves etc) and therefore acts like a muffler. A total compromise in terms of resonation, depth and harmonics. I think your man in the front rank merely demonstrates that it can happen to the best of us after those words "quick - march!". Not much to do with the bag at all. Some pipers get nervous and hunch over a bit, often hitting the bag in the wrong spot as a result. Most problems are above the shoulders.
