Love it, Love it, Love it.....Just found your channel two days ago...have been watching non stop every since....So happy to finally get to this video....I can't wait to see more with Tam and her tasty treats...
omg i use dto go picking wild edibles all the time LOL i still recognized those plants before she even said what they were i should start doing that again
What? You can eat lamb's quarters? It was yet another weed in the field on the farm. Geeze, I remember spraying or chopping them when I should have been eating them. Aye carumba.
excellent close up on the wild greens as they grow ,,I noticed some clover in the shots also a tasty addition !! I dehydrate my garden produce and instead of nooddles I would add some home dehydrated hashbrown potatoes, quick to cook also ,,when the sun is out I also use glass jars to cook rice or barly with small bits of jerky ,,takes a while but even setting inside windsheild with sun u can cook in jars or foil for thin sliced meats.-sometimes a fire is risky ,a good replacement heat sorce.5*!!
We use a lot of Curly Dock.. as well as some others locally. I'm not sure who told you that Dock wasn't good to eat.. It's incredible Bro.. My absolute favorite green!
Hey Tam, As I watch all these videos on and about cooking and eating edibles from the wild, I ask is this plant the same as the one I saw on the video, Gee where is Tam and David at? Thank you for all your videos they are a joy to watch, wish I was there. - Andy
Sure you would use the coffee can if it were a true survival situation but you can pick up a pot or thin SSbowl in any town under $3 I got a huge pot at a YS for $4 it was hardly used and we cooked a huge mess of pasta in it last night. Great insight on edible greens I hate to trust my memory at this we need to learn these things never know what we need to do in the future, rather be free and poor than in a concentration camp waiting my turn to take the lethal shower. Thanks for the video.
Glad you enjoyed it. I love finding bargains on pots and pans, especially cast iron. I find a coffee can handy as even if it rusts or dents on a hike you can recycle and use another for free :)
They are easy to hook on a belt or pack too. I do use use my kitchen pans outside, I just coat them to make washing easier.
Tamar~ Shalom, Achoti! I'm glad I finally found you. I'm using these videos to teach my 3 nephews whom I homeschool (praise YHWH!) I'm going to also be placing them on our ning network, Rachel's Remnant! Excellent recipes! I tell everyone that you're my mentor, and look forward to learning more! Keep'em coming, achoti! Love you! Nava
I trust my wife's skills implicitly. We study together.. and she definitely knows what she's doing. If she has a question about anything she brings the whole plant in and we ID it together. I'm safe :)
We use 1 pound coffee cans to cook in while in the bush (and sometimes here). We have also used vege cans as long as they don't have a plastic liner in them. We tend to stay away from aluminum to cook in.
Thats what I'm talking about, a mountain man and his wilderness wifey. "THE WOODLAND LIFESTYLE" fun the whole family will love!!! Keep your wisdom and knowledge acoming.
Very well done, Tam. Great to see you on the right side of the lens. Look forward to some more acron bread, oops, I mean, I look forward to seeing your bread videos. Be well. ~Uncle Bill.
Have missed you! Thanks so much for the vote of confidence, going to have to wait for the oak trees to produce with us...it's still to early for that, and my frozen supply, well there's only enough for one more batch. This year I'll put more away in hopes of your return visit!
blessings to you and yours,
Tam
PS to all of you who've shared comments and ratings, thanks so much, I'm hoping to make another video this coming new week.
You are very generous in your comments! Thank you very much.
I have so much yet to learn, and am so thankful for each one of you who takes the time to make and host your video's. Truly priceless information you all share! As I learn, I'd be happy to share, and appreciate your patience knowing I'm yet a hungry student (pardon the pun)
You can use a plastic bottle you find in the woods to boil water in. would be cool if you showed that. especially for your almost naked in the woods videos
outstanding ,looking forward to them cooking videos ,its one thing to survive in the woods , and eat off the land but if u know who to take that greens and edibles and make a tasty meal that's an art , 5stars

IamMohawk,
If you use alot of greens then two could enjoy a good sized cup of soup.
About 3 1/2 cups of liquid per coffee can, and then if you use alot of greens it gets filling quickly!

great job Tam look forward to more videos
Bloodynavallint 2 years ago
That's doable Bloody However...
It's not a good idea to cook in plastic bottles. The pcbs (??) can be released into your water and are harmful to your health! So we won't do it..

understandable
thanks for replying
