  • marchand dislike this legend xD

  • @ALEXIP1003 For a British Canadian, is hating a need ? Je veux dire, est-ce que la haine est un besoin pour un Canadien britannique ? Est-ce que les Britanniques ont besoin de haïr ?

  • Comment removed

  • @ALEXIP1003 it shouldnt matter what you are he is truely the best hockey player of all time nobody was as good as him some people say gretzky was but so what if he scored more points than richard gretzky couldnt take half the shit richard went through richard is a truely once in a lifetime hockeyplayer

  • Is it true the film ends right after the riot? And just makes a brief mention of what comes after? If so, it glosses over the best part of the story: "Living well is the best revenge."

"The Damned United," with Michael Sheen as the English soccer manager Brian Clough, makes the same mistake, glossing over his great successes after his grand failure.

  • Richard was a bitch who hit Laycoe with his stick like a pussy rather than fight him like a man. Typical Canadiens crap.

  • @shattertheearth Do you even know anything about him? I know he hit Laycoe in the head with his stick but after that, he got in a massive fight. And I actually hate canadiens as well. Theyre rascist, cocky and full of themselves but I think Mauricce Richard is the first canadien person i know that I totally respect. If you read his bio, you'll read he's anything but typical

  • I know haters wont believe me but i am related to Murice Richard and Henri Richard

  • @9DaBomb123 that's sick! how are u related?

  • @9DaBomb123 Nice, Henri Richard played later then Maurice right?

  • @omegaultima990 Maurice: 1942 to 1960. Henri, 16 years younger: 1955 to 1975. Together just 5 years... won the Cup all 5 years.

  • this trailer has horrible editing, and make the movie seem like a clusterfuck, when it really wasn't

  • wow i know nothing about hockey and i'm pumped to see this

  • just awesome

  • This story is about the story of a French Canadian trying to prove himself in the NHL when at that time the anglophones were in majority, it was pretty tough for him, he had to endure a lot of insults just like when Jackie Robinson was trying to make it in Major League Baseball. Merci Maurice, you were the greatest hockey player of all time. R.I.P.

  • worst preview ever this movie is awesome dont belive the preview

  • Last player the french have seen closest to The Rocket is Crosby.

    Fortunately, he ain't french.

  • @TheeUrbanGentleman no other athlete came close period exept muhammad ali

  • @kolargol Crosby.

  • @TheeUrbanGentleman

Crosby is not a machinist in a wwII bomb factory all day and didn't have points erased because he was french canadian and crosby is not the voice of a silenced people

  • @kolargol yeah. Talking about hockey here, not some other stuff in his personal life. Talking about his profession.

  • @TheeUrbanGentleman the points shaving happened when he was playing HOCKEY

  • @kolargol I know that. But i'm saying the closet we've seen is Crosby. He's the most hated and most liked.

  • @TheeUrbanGentleman what do u mean by fortunatly he aint french?

  • @h31212 I mean. lucky Corbsy ain't french yo.

  • @TheeUrbanGentleman And why would it be unlucky that Crosby was french?

  • @h31212 Because, then he wouldn't be liked.

  • @TheeUrbanGentleman LOL you're so wrong

  • @h31212 not at all.

  • @TheeUrbanGentleman LOL know than i think of it you're right. But french people would like im.

  • AVERY

  • Horribe trailer for an amazing movie

  • J'adore.

  • The greatest sports movie EVER !!!

  • i love how he hits sean avery!! fave part of the movie lol

  • He Is my great great grandpa!!!

  • TELL ME THE MOTHERFUCKING SITE THAT I CAN SEE THIS FILM IN ENGLISH SUBTITLES FOR FREE, IM GETTING PISSED NOW.

  • @emoneylegend81

    Sorry, I don't know... But it's a great movie !

  • what site can you see this movie with english subtitles for free?

  • why did he have to die

  • avaxtakaka is a real dumb ass and doesn't know anything about The Rocket but ...Hey ! "Roy Dupuis is

a GREAT actor! NOBODY could've played Mauruce Ri-

chard like he did! I just wish that Peta Wilson had been

    in this film."

  • Great movie, and vinny lecavlier played beliveau, he looks so much like him!

  • @batgrenade1 yup! a few other NHLer's in there too like Sean Avery and Ian Lapperier or however you spell it lol..

  • @avaxtakaka Maurice Richard didn't idolize Gordie Howe, how could he? He was older then him. Thats like saying Sidney Crosby idolizes Johnathan Toews. Maurice Richard wanted number 9 because when his eldest child was born she weighed 9 pounds. The 9 is in honour of his daughter. Don't feel too bad, this is a simple mistake to make for anybody who hasn't bothered to see this impressive movie and knows squat about Hockey.

  • I saw this movie in school!

    Very well made!!!

The bloody bits got me shaken

I love Hockey, and Maurice Richard was one of my idols for hockey!!!

    R.I.P Maurice!!!!

  • I must have missed the part where Richard beats Hal Loyce with a stick and punches out a ref. He should have been in jail.

  • I used to live in Detroit, and I know that Howe

& Richard were good friends. They appeared at

    a few charity events.

  • I used to live in Detroit, and I know that Howe

& Richard were good friends. They appeared at

    a few charity events.

  • 1 dumb ass leafs

  • why dont they have helmets???

  • @ooKn1GhToo Good old days. Everything was about skill, toughness, and physical ability. It changes overtime.

    BOBBY ORR

    MAURICE ROCKET RICHARD

    ^Eg of the old days.

  • @TheAogGuy yeah but i dont understand how the goalies play without helmets

  • @ooKn1GhToo

Jacques Plante was the first goalie to wear the helmet in 1959... Few years after.

  • why dont they have helmets???

  • @ooKn1GhToo Helmets were like a distraction...many did not agree with it....

  • Our three stars tonight...

    Maurice Richard

    Maurice Richard

    Maurice Richard

  • Sean Avery disliked this movie.

  • One Maple Leafs idiot dislike this !

  • Most exciting player of all time.

  • Maurice Richard and the Habs are not just the pride of Quebec but of the rest of Canada too. Montreal still leads as the most liked hockey team in Canada by over two to one over the Leafs. Their CH symbol is one of the most recognized symbols in sport.

  • They never used to wear helmets back then?! Whoa. That's just horrible in too many ways. Glad they have their protective gear nowadays. Otherwise I'd be freaked out when my teams play!

  • Cant they do a movie about wayne gretzky

  • @SpelaSource It'll probably be done at some point but I don't think Gretzky's life has very good movie potential. He was a top rated hockey prospect from a young age, joined the NHL at 18 and soon dominated, ruffled few feathers during his career and retired after twenty years for undramatic reasons.

  • @SpelaSource not realy because sicne he joined the LNH he dominated all the ligue not like richard.

  • this movie was just awesome!!!!!!! loved it!

  • sean avery got owned in the movie!!!! hahahaha lol

  • Sean avery is in this

  • Best movie ever !!

  • It's the proud of the Québec. Maurice Richard, The Rocket it's not just a Hero, it's not just a man, it's an inspiration. The Rocket is the QUÉBEC.

  • any one know if this is in english, not in english subtitles

  • @xLeafs2012x

There's parts in english ans some in french with subtitles. But I've heard that exist a complete english version.

  • @xLeafs2012x GO HABS GO

  • whats the song in the movie from the 9 pounds scene?

  • LONG LIVE THE ROCKET!

  • I've heard Gordie Howe take the number 9 because he idolized the Rocket Richard...

  • @GoHabsGo0708 tres bien dit, mon ami!

  • great movie

  • @GoHabsGo0708 I'm a french from quebec... thx for this comment it's appreciatted.

  • "Exchange 15....for da number 9?". This was because

Maurice Richard idolized Gordie Howe. Roy Dupuis is

a GREAT actor! NOBODY could've played Mauruce Ri-

chard like he did! I just wish that Peta Wilson had been

    in this film.

  • @avaxtakaka he changed to number 9 because his daughter weighed 9 pounds when she was born

  • @futurnhler9 Are you sure about this? The Hockey

News once wrote that Maurice had a huge amount of

respect for Gordie Howe. I'm almost positive that was

the reason for the number switch.

  • @avaxtakaka im not sure u could be right i just remembered reading it somewhere

  • @futurnhler9 You are correct, off the ice, Richard was a very caring and sensitive man, and he changed his number to honour his daughter; not to honour Gordie Howe.... truth is, if you were on another team, Richard hated your guts! haha (He was the most fiery competitor in the history of the NHL, if not in sports history itself)

  • @avaxtakaka

Maurice Richard scores 50 goals in 50 games BEFORE Howe start to play in the NHL... Howe idolized Richard... Howe never scores 50 goals in... 70 games.

  • @avaxtakaka

He changed his number because his daughter weight 9 pounds... That's it that's all... I've NEVER heard Maurice idolized Howe !!?? There's a rivalry between them at this time.

After years, they respect each others, but that's was WAR every game. You can't idolized when there's only 6 clubs, imagine:

    "Hey ! You're my hero !"

BANG ! Stick slash in the face...

  • @Numerologue Back in 1989, I lived and worked

in Montreal. I met a man named Camil Desroches,

and he was the Director of Publicity for the Cana-

diens. He was the man who told me that Maurice

Richard changed his number to "9", in honour of

Gordie Howe. I have to believe that Mr. Desroches

had some "first hand" information. Also, when the

Canadiens and Red Wings played, Maurice usually

had to deal with Ted Lindsay on his side of the ice,

    not Howe.

  • @avaxtakaka Maurice change is number 1943: "Elle venait de naître, le 27 octobre 1943. Je lui ai répondu: "Neuf livres (9 pounds)". Et il m'a remis le chandail numéro 9."

He surely respect Howe but he can't change for honouring him because Howe start playing in 1946.

  • @avaxtakaka

he changed his number because his first born daughter weighed 9 pounds

  • @12ALDR Right, Hugette was born just before he changed his number

  • @Shoknifeman i've heard both from several people. i know

richard liked howe a lot. maybe he did it for both reasons.

  • @TheCthulhuBoy For starters, during his playing career, Richard considered ALL opposing players as hated enemies (He NEVER forgave the refs, even after retirement) and secondly, Gordie Howe didn't even join the NHL until 1946, 4 years AFTER Richard, if anything, Gordie would have taken the number to honour Richard... Maurice took the number to honour his daughter Hugette, case closed!

  • @Shoknifeman Rocket never forgave Ted Lindsay, but he

didn't carry-over his hate once he retired.

  • @avaxtakaka

Richeard never idolized Howe ! That's fucking bullshit !

  • @avaxtakaka Wrong wrong wrong, Richard changer his number in 1943, 3 years before Howe even JOINED the NHL : Things really turned around in 1943-44. Perhaps it was the switch to the right wing, or perhaps a superstitious switch in number. Richard asked coach Dick Irvin Sr. if he could change his number from 15 to nine to mark the occasion of the birth of his first daughter - 9lb Huguette.

  • @avaxtakaka no It was coz his daughter was 9 pounds >:(

  • @avaxtakaka It's not because he idolized Gordie Howe. It's because his daughter weighted 9 pounds. Did you see the movie?

  • @avaxtakaka your an idiot, The rocket changed his number to 9 because his baby weighted 9 pounds, not because he idolized Howe

  • @avaxtakaka actually it was because his first child weighed 9 pounds, well, thats what i thought, gordie howe didn't play then

  • @avaxtakaka no, he wanted to exchange 15 for da number 9 cause when his daughter was born she was 9 pounds get your facts stright

  • @DrPoPpIn Maybe "The Rocket" had a 9" dick.

  • @TheCthulhuBoy hahaha maybe ;b

  • @avaxtakaka Gordie Howe idolized HIM he changed his number because his daughter weighed 9 pounds.....

  • @avaxtakaka is not by what her daughter weighed 9lbs when she was born

  • @avaxtakaka Richard came into the league before Howe, what the hell are you talking about?

  • Great movie.

  • hey i'm from Australia, anyone know where i can buy this??

  • @TheMitchThomas Maybe on Amazon

  • @TheMitchThomas go to e Bay.com, mate. Good luck!

  • @billc756 yeah thanks dude found it straight away

  • awesome awesome movie. you don't have to be a canadien fan to appreciate this movie. richard really was great and this movie did very well to represent this. i suggest trying to get this with english subtitles. i saw it with dubbing and that did take away from the movie.

  • Does anyone know what song they used at 0:26? I've been looking for the name of this song for months. Someone please help, thanks!

  • @HughesKaydendg

What is the full name of the movie? Can i find it uploaded on youtube?

  • frig!! i watched this movie in french class! it was sooo sad!

  • Saw that fantastic movie on TV last night...Damn that was a fuckin masterpiece...i'm totally a stranger to hockey world but still, Richard story is really inspiring...

One of the best movie about sport I've ever seen!

  • @afterburner94 - And unlike so many American Bio movies, this one is all true!

  • @Shoknifeman ahahah yeah probably... Can I know what american movies you're thinkin of?

  • @afterburner94 - Oh, so called bios like "The Buddy Holly Story" or any of those other movie bios that are full of fictional "info" masquerading as truth. (Basically, there are very few Hollywood bios that stick to the real story)

  • This looks like one helluva great movie! I'm a Bruin fan, but I appreciate

what Maurice Richard accomplished. As for Roy Dupuis, he's a GREAT

actor. But, to me, he's always be "Michael" from LaFemme Nikita! As for

the scene where he carries the Detroit defenceman in on his back, that

really did happen. The Red Wing was named Earl Siebert.

  • @avaxtakaka I a Habs fan, I appreciate Bobby Orr :)

  • @hotchickfv You rock! Bobby Orr is God!

    Bobby was THE best ever!

  • lol at "We signed a lemon" He ended being the greatest Hab and the best goal scorer of his era.

  • where can i buy this movie

  • @phxhockey97 - Try any Walmart in Canada (If youre American, you'll have to cross the border ;) )

  • I had tears in my eyes whenever the coach pulled out his piece of paper and said that one sentence in french. Émouvant. =)

  • Ce film est tout simplement excellent.

  • I need to buy this!!! I love hockey. I don't think made it to any Indie cinemas here in the US when it was out. I respect Canada and their players. Except the Oilers. Oilsuck! Maurice Richardson is a legend! GO SHARKS!

  • just maurice richard...

  • @guitarbeast1944 Of course not there are many others.

  • Awesome movie!

  • George Laraques is French Canadian

Next time you see him call him a pussy, see how that works out for you.

  • I'm talking about NHL French-Canadiens, I have no idea about any other league that has you guys :P

  • we are everywere man...learn your hockey...we create that sport and if we were not here hockey will not be the same at all

  • I was watching this in Canadian Studies at University, it is such a great story, couldn't stop myself from crying twice in class :))

  • We watched this movie going from Quebec city to Montreal on a school trip to Canada but my teacher had bought the movie in Canada. Anyone know where can find it in the U.S?

  • I actually got this for Christmas like last year and I believe my mom got it for me from a Best Buy

  • found my copy at the local video store, they just happened to have it.

  • Greatest Canadian movie of all time. Can't believe the numbers in English Canada were so low at the box office.

  • 44 goals in one season, what a record like that means to you

    Rocket: It Is Good...

    LOLL

  • I DON'T WANT TO SEE MAURECE TONIGHT I WANT TO SEE THE ROCKET! best line of the movie

  • I remember when I saw the trailer for this at the movies, that line alone made me want to see it.

  • @tacotimeding that and when he totally destroyed avery

  • I get shivers when I watch this

  • this trailer gives me chills, and then gives my chills chills, and then gives my chills chills chills. i'm not even exaggerating.

  • I love this movie.

I'm ganna go watch it now. xP

  • why is it that this movie in torrents are all in french language?

  • i dont think it's been dubbed; its quebecois movie

  • we were watching this in french class and it was in french yet the movie some parts were in english and french and some just french

  • number 9 forever!!!!
