I like Maiden and Devildriver. Musically, it's pretty much the same as Maiden nothing new and interesting going on and goddamn does he ever scrap it with the vocals. Some songs are just better sung clean. They should of put more devildriver in it, and less Maiden imo.

You should check it out Ryan Adam's version of Wasted Years then, it is sung with a soft voice, and has it's own take and style while still honoring the original. It's what a cover should be as it is so unique, and is far, far better than this cover version.

Many places describe them as a mallcore band, which, in my mind, includes bands like Bring Me The Horizon and Suicide Silence. At least metalcore is better than mallcore! They've got no real melodic death metal traits, but you're entitlted to your opinion. Sorry.

This really shows how Dez can still sing like he was in Coal Chamber. I think this cover is great, they aren't trying to sound like the original, but they were playing in their own music genre. A perfect example of how a cover is meant to be done

I think if your going to cover a maiden song with mostly screamed vocals it should be a paul song, cuz with bruce the vocals/melody line were sooo important to the songs, almost as if it were more of an instrument. With this song, the verses are alright, and the instrumental are amazing sounding, but the chorus really is not nearly as epic as it would be with clean vocals since he's way more limited with pitch and power. I still like it, But i think something off killers is more suited to DD.
