folks with older receivers that have the HDMI audio input with out the Dolby True HD and DTS HD Master decoding on board ..can still enjoy listening to loss less PCM which is bit for bit identical to the master recording... think of DTHD and DTSHD as a zip program that allows to compress and than decompress the audio with out loosing not one thing from the master. formula PS3 To AVR via HDMI to the HDMI AUDIO input on your AVR select all PCM on PS3 audio select DTHD or DTSHD on the movie. Enjoy.
what if your reciver doesn't have the onboard DOLBY true hd/DTS master audio decoding my reciver has niether it has dolby digital and dts and that's it what should i do
no problem check what inputs your receiver has ...does it have a HDMI input? if yes make sure that the HDMI input accepts audio..some HDMI inputs only accept Video and acts as router..Now I suggest you get a PS3 as it can decode the track and send it as PCM. set your PS3 audio output options to all PCM. if your HDMI input on your receiver does not accept Audio and only accepts Video than you wont be able to hear loss less audio. Your next best audio should come from the Optical or Coaxial input.
Well it depends I have heard 100 watt subs and some not all sound fantastic but only in small rooms and when you don't demand extreme low frequencies. I have 2 Velodyne HGS15 each at 1250 RMS watts but subs like these aren't cheap but you get what you paid for.I would recommend you take a look at cheap ebay subs look for brands such as Velodyne and SVS and read reviews online. I would say if you want a decent used sub your looking at about 250 to 600$ purchase GL.
i'll never go back to watching 5.1 dvd's BD's r much better and have much more information on the disc take My Bloody valentine 3-d for example it's in 1080 P and in DTS MASTER AUDIO HD , that movie will scare u shitless bud
Yeah i know , My Bloody Valentine sounds AWESOME on blu ray , i was so amazed at how good the 7.1 sounded , have heard The Chronicles Of Narnia or The SAW MOVIES.
