I am not a huge fan of black metal, but this sounds really good. I googled a bit and found an article stating that Watain would be a good band for potential bm beginners. I've also listened to the title track of this particular album and gave this song multiple listens, and it seems like the article was right. I guess black metal is really about creating a certain feeling, ambiance or atmosphere.

And whether or not music has 'melody' is a ridiculous way to judge it's merits anyway. Think of of Stockhausen, Schnittke, Penderecki, Sunn 0))) etc. No melody, and it's some of the most brilliant, important music ever written.
