  • Marvelous, as always, but I slightly prefer her 1937 Liebestod with Beecham. Leinsdorf heats things up and builds to a great climax here. Knappertsbusch was the greatest conductor of this opera, IMO. His VPO stereo Liebestod with Nilsson is transcendental.
