Ok..once again. My mind is blown. You make me feel unworthy of the JamMan. I see now that you use JamMan. You have broadened my horizons. I can't imagin the hours you have put into this. PROPS TO YOU! Cheers!
Overall, your best bet is the Micropog. It is an awesome pedal and it will never leave my board. Along with the 12 string (Dry 80%, Octave Up 20%), the organ sound (All set at about 50%), bass guitar (Octave down 100%), you can also get a really neat synth type sound (Octave down 40% or so and Octave up 80%) -- if you do that sound with a wah pedal or filter pedal you get a wild sound that I use often. Almost a hip hop type sound. Get that pedal for the possibilities are endless. Thanks!!!
Thanks for the insight. I was looking at either the Micro Pog or the FoxRox Octron or maybe one of the Boss things. Octron is analog and not polyphonal. But the demos I've heard for bass simulation with the MiPog (until hearing yours) sounded kinda warbly when just using the Oct DN. Yours sounds pretty nice. I have a mfx unit that has a Whammy, but the tracking is terrible and it makes it unusable. Thanks again. I think I'll be getting one.
I think the warbly sound would be because they are playing through guitar amps that can't handle the sub-bass sound, whereas a PA can handle the low-frequencies better...that's just my guess. Good Luck!!
Actually it seems to the tracking of the effect. I gave the Whammy one more try and with some gtr tone adjustments was able to get rid of the "hunting" on the signal. Then had to EQ the post back up to sound more bass like. Got it now. POG might still be in my future, but I have something working pretty well. Thanks for the advice. I'm going into a powered mixer, not a gtr amp. Sometimes a kboard amp for small rooms.
Nice job Dylan! Very well constructed. You look just like someone I grew up with... oh yeah, your dad! Only his guns were never quite that big. You have a real smooth delivery and nice confidence. I'm really proud of you.
Dude you are awesome . I saw Jonny Cash sing this song in the 80s at the brookfield Zoo in Chicago. Ever since I have loved this song. I just bought a line 6 dl4 . I hope to emulate you on this one . I was very impressed and inspired. I ve been playing a couple of years now and im gonna try and put this together ---wish me luck
Thanks man, you might have to shorten the phrase with dl4, but it can be done, if you need any tips just let me know I can help you out with this version of the song.
Im coming along alittle at a time . I work 60to 80hours a week . Anyway Im listening to the bass line you laid down and it is lower then guitar . Are you using an effects pedal to get the bass line ?

Using a Micro Pog for bass line? I'm trying to figure out what octave pedal to get for my looping to create bass lines.
Your thoughts?
thanks.

Okay first of all I will say DO NOT buy the Electroharmonix Multiplexer (The volume is soo low and the quality sucks).
Your best options:
1. Micropog - great bass sound, plus you can make your guitar sound similar to an organ or a 12-string guitar.
2. BOSS OC3 or OC2 - good pedal, I like the micropog better.
3. Roland Guitar Synth - VERY Expensive, but can create amazing bass sounds along with piano, strings, etc.
4. Behringer Octave Pedal - Pedal is not great but you can get it for about $20-30

Nice work on the guitar, but you need to put some balls into that voice if you are singing cash son.

yeah, i use an electroharmonix micropog, but you can do it as long as you just use the bottom e string and your thumb to get a bass sound.
