Hey man great playing! Cool to see other drummers who appreciate this band. These guys are definitely the kings of groove. My favorite song to play to would be the secret to quiet, especially the shuffle at the end. Looking forward to seeing more!
Good work sir! I picked that one from that album too as one that I would be remotely able to play. It is lots of fun. I still don't have the quick snare roll down from 1:00. I'll learn a lot watching this. Thank you.
@spitonastranger Hey thanks man! Yeah tons of fun, I see you're just as crazy about Merc Prog as me :) And yeah this is definitely one of the more learnable songs...not to mention one of the most infectious grooves. I'd say that little snare-to-tom roll is the hardest part for me as well...def need to practice it more. I really appreciate the feedback and kind words good sir, you've been subbed. I think I want to do "Marianas" next :D
@grantcclark Weird, I was going to suggest Marianas!
My favourites for jamming along to are: egypt, the vortex east and down on your old lung.
Had a go at sultans of el sur and nazca lines of peru a couple of weeks ago. Tough times. Way more subtle snare work required. Good luck with the hihat stamping in marianas! Look forward to seeing it.
Thanks for the sub. If you're interested, my own music is up on soundcloud under "the pin". Sub reciprocated.
Sounds awesome man, I would love this kind of drumming on my upcoming album, check out my page if you have a moment! You might like it :3
