If this church was truly a radical racist church, don't you the the United Church of Christ would have done something about it before there were political implications?

There is no Constitutional separation of church and state.(There is a Constitutional ban on the state endorsing a religion.) Rev. Wright teaches classes at Garrett Seminary, which is the Methodist/Wesleyan based seminary associated with Northwestern University. He is well-respected by the mostly-white and very mainstream staff at that distinguished school as well as the staff at Chicago Theological Seminary, which is the United Church of Christ's seminary. Rev. Wright's whole career has been based on building people up and including people- espcially the poor, elderly and disenfranchised into society.

How many edits were there in this video. The audio sounds like it is dubbed over in several parts, and his mouth doesn't match what he is saying. This "pastor" is a well-known admitted witch-hunter from Kenya. He is known for accusing a woman of witchcraft and inciting a mob to chase her out of town. She fled in fear for her life. That is what he admits to proudly and we have no way of knowing how many other people he accused of witchcraft there. Witch accusations are epidemic and many people are killed b/c of it.

There are 2 areas of concern here: 1) that the pastor is talking about infiltrating the government in order to effectively end the Separation of Church & State. There is no Constitutional separation of church and state.(There is a Constitutional ban on the state endorsing a religion.) That is a term Jefferson coined and that the Supreme Court eventually adopted. Regardless, it is imprudent to assume that a person can hold office separate from his/her beliefs. Every single piece of legislation is influenced by people's beliefs. Perhaps what some people don't want are Palin's particular beliefs. That is a completely different argument.

This is shown by this preachers condemnation of Buddhism in this sermon, while encouraging "Believers" to "Infiltrate" the government. And yes, Obviously, Sarah Palin will likely not be capable of making decisions separate from her religioous beliefs, and her beliefs are not what mainstream Christians believe. I was brainwashed as a Christian since birth. (a Roman Catholic, which is an evil unto itself) I was a southern Baptist for two years, not by choice and have studied religion since I was 14. So not only do I understand religious views I have practiced them. The difference between myself and others is my IQ of 148, which has allowed me to break from the brainwashing and research religions on my own. As far as a church not promoting or endorsing a candidate, how many times have you seen larger Baptist churches have nominees make speeches from the pulpit, and endorsing candidates?
Just because it's Sarah Palin doesn't make it any different-what goes for one should go for another.

I am saddened by the tone of some of these comments. None of us know Sarah Palin personally, yet the amount of hate towards her is ugly. When I watch this video all I see is a pastor praying for a potential governor. This is America. Praying is not a criminal offense. There is too much fear and hate of others. Why not try to look for the good in others instead of picking people apart

Agreed that that wasn't a shining moment for Obama. To his credit, he denounced the ridiculous parts of Rev Wright's speeches and separated himself from the church. We'll see if Palin is willing to do the same. Also, I don't remember seeing Obama personally undergoing tne near-equivalent of a modern exorcism.
