@TrionJuggernaut didnt see this post earlier, I am my mechanic, ive been doing engine work for over 20 yrs so I'm pretty confident in my abilities at this point :) My skyline is hard broke. there is nothing minor about a broken ringland. although this does seem to be more of a problem on the 25 than the 26. but still the cost is crazy to upgrade either one. I'd swap for a 2jz but its too heavy and not worth the time since I cant take this car with me when I move back to the states.

hp is all about flow, 2 vavlve heads can flow and make power over 10k rpm, and pushrod valvetrains can turn 9500 all day long. so unless you are turning more than 10k rpm in your twin overhead cam straight six, and have heads capable of flowing that high, there is no advantage to ohc. furthermore most pushrod engines go with lower rpm and higher ci to use hydrualic lifters, which gives you variable valve lift, something no supra motor has.

Look up outlaw drag radial supra. Updated chassis, still same car. It's the very first runs on the chassis, the times are 1/4, but I'm letting off and on the brakes at the 1/8. It's a better quality vid too
georgiadawg88, The Supra has went 4.67@163mph in the 1/8th. That was over a year ago. The video footage of the supra was taken by me and is from 3 years ago. The supra has a bigger and better motor going in it as we speak and also has bigger turbos. I dont think your friends mustang wants any.

427 is a huge motor. There are a million big v-8's out there putting down huge numbers and go mad fast. But there are also a lot of big hp 2jz's out there. There are actually 2000+hp 2jz's too, mainly stroked to 3.4 liters, but they exist. In fact, for a while the texas standing mile record was held by an mk4 2jz supra.

drag raceing is not easy in 9 seconds or less you need to hit all the gears and limit wheel slip and lets not forget if you get outta the groove your going to hit a wall and really hard i hate im maen hate hate hate hate nascar but i will admitt it is not easy it does require alot of skill but thy also have spotters and if a team driver blockers and drafters in drag racing its just you and your car

FYI, te 2JZ GTE can take up to 700BHP with out you ever even having to take the rocker off. They are just as strong as LS V8s.
That said, LS V8>2JZ simply because they are lighter.

They also came with the 7M, 1G and the 1JZ. The 2JZ is just another over rated rice burner that has been hyped up in the import scene and worshiped by kids who dont know any better. They replaced it because it is not reliable and to expensive to maintain at that power level, not to mention heavy as lead.

@ruthlessone3k the mk4 supra comes only with 2jzge, 2jzgte n 2jzgte vvti dude, the mk3 comes with the rest u mentioned. not sure bout the rotary engines..but the rb26 n 2jz are better than the v8, that's y they are overrated..n the v8 is 1 big gas burner that's only good at going in a straight line..n probably drift..n they should use an american aerodynamic car shell instead of ruining a perfectly good supra

@TrionJuggernaut didnt see this post earlier, I am my mechanic, ive been doing engine work for over 20 yrs so I'm pretty confident in my abilities at this point :) My skyline is hard broke. there is nothing minor about a broken ringland. although this does seem to be more of a problem on the 25 than the 26. but still the cost is crazy to upgrade either one. I'd swap for a 2jz but its too heavy and not worth the time since I cant take this car with me when I move back to the states.

hp is all about flow, 2 vavlve heads can flow and make power over 10k rpm, and pushrod valvetrains can turn 9500 all day long. so unless you are turning more than 10k rpm in your twin overhead cam straight six, and have heads capable of flowing that high, there is no advantage to ohc. furthermore most pushrod engines go with lower rpm and higher ci to use hydrualic lifters, which gives you variable valve lift, something no supra motor has.

georgiadawg88, The Supra has went 4.67@163mph in the 1/8th. That was over a year ago. The video footage of the supra was taken by me and is from 3 years ago. The supra has a bigger and better motor going in it as we speak and also has bigger turbos. I dont think your friends mustang wants any.

@FearSyndr0me i totally understand what ur saying man, i really do. because i to am a import lover, and a major fan of the supra. but the main big difference here is the immediate torque and HP it is getting to the ground, and then growing throughout the entire power band. making it a much better 60 ft and what not. with big single turbo supras there is lag, and boost problems and boost creep all the time. this motor in a race sense, is more reliable.

@sirlonghair Hate to break it to you but more displacement to make the same power levels is not more efficient, it's actually less efficient.
427 is a huge motor. There are a million big v-8's out there putting down huge numbers and go mad fast. But there are also a lot of big hp 2jz's out there. There are actually 2000+hp 2jz's too, mainly stroked to 3.4 liters, but they exist. In fact, for a while the texas standing mile record was held by an mk4 2jz supra.

130 lbs for a turbo kit is way high because nobody making real power uses the oem cast bullshit.

Uses no oil, and all accessories are factory original too. Show me any unmodded factory engine with 215000 miles being even half that reliable in the mid 6s.....

@sirlonghair but its not been run at full power yet....is the 2jzgte that unrelaible? the will all performance r32 gtr in aus runs a 3 liter os giken engine based on an rb30det ( the aussie built nissan 6) and has done over 40 passes using a manual gearbox and has over 1200 horse power at the wheels ( so closer to 1400 at crank with the power loss through the 4wd trans) and they took it apart and sussed the internals and they were fine! so how can a 2jzgte be less relaible then a nissan 3 liter?

@sirlonghair its a straight 6 mate not a v6 big difference, and it was only pulled apart because it was the first time this engines been used in aus and the owners wanted to check how it was doing, and it was fine, these motors have now been pushed to over 2000hp, i was just woundering why the 2jzgte which is a similar design to the rb series proves so unrelaible compared to its nissan rival. and of course a 7 liter plus engine with more cylinders is going to produce more power then a 3 liter 6

drag raceing is not easy in 9 seconds or less you need to hit all the gears and limit wheel slip and lets not forget if you get outta the groove your going to hit a wall and really hard i hate im maen hate hate hate hate nascar but i will admitt it is not easy it does require alot of skill but thy also have spotters and if a team driver blockers and drafters in drag racing its just you and your car
