@bobbyrobby15 I just listened to the original recording and worked on it until it was as close as I could get it. I't not perfect, but it's not an easy song either.
Nice job dude! How long have you been playing? I think I have some work to do to catch up haha. Anyways, I thought you did a really nice job muting the strings and making sure only the notes you wanted rang out.
Pretty impressive stuff. Satch songs are no small undertaking. I used to be a guitar player so I would like to offer some positive advice. Your playing is very good but I think your bends could be softened a bit. I would also cut back the distortion slightly and add a bit more reverb. For a first attempt man this is really impressive. It would take me alot longer to pick it up then you did. I hope to hear more from you in the future.
Oh dude, your playing is ok, but your guitar is out of tune :( some of the bendings were a little off and the vibrato wanst perfect throughout the song, as wasnt the timing.
One advice for your tone: More treble less mid and less distortion, that makes it easier to avoid a note getting on one's nerves and you can control the tone more easily while playing.
tell him to go to guitarbt, and for recording you can use different things, for example getting usb interfaces, recording with the Microphone close to your amp, and using audacity, ableton live, garagaband, etc.
Hamerac got it right. This aint for the faint of heart though, since theres so much subtlety in it that it almost requires a Satch to play it perfectly. I wish I could play it. A great job on your first Satch try!
Great Great Job on a Great song!! I'm so impressed by Masons focus!! The emotion is there, but it's just "focused emotion". And sometimes that's more important than trying be a showman. It takes allot of confidence to get in front of a camera & pull off a "Guitar Gods" song this well! The slow songs are sometimes allot harder because of the patience it takes to pull it off! That displays allot about the player & his talent!! Great Job buddy!! Kudos!!
Thanks, I don't really use an amp for videos, I use a recording machine called the Zoom MRS-1044. It allows you to record the song and add your own effects.
Yeah, when you have to hold those bent strings, the difference between "expressive" and "sour" is microscopic. That tiny zone is the difference between a good soloist and a great one. I'm betting you'll find it.
hey where did you go to learn the song
