The USA has a murder rate of 4.8 per 100,000 (3.0 involving firearms), while the UK has a murder rate of 1.2 (0.1 involving firearms) - Source: Wikipedia articles on Gun Politics in Britain and Murder Rates by country. You have to accept that our gun laws WORK because throughout history gun ownership has been low on this peaceful island. But I know that it can't work in the USA because gun ownership is high. I was in the demo at the start of the video - and it was about originally about the rights of the people living in the countryside - but it got hijacked by the pro fox-hunting lobby. But fox-hunting has nothing to do with guns, none of the people are talking about guns, and the only connection with guns is made by the commentator himself.

Too late complaining after the you have handed your guns in. Should have kicked up more of a fuss before the time. It's so easy to get illegal handguns, AKs and even handgrenades, but there's so much red tape and high cost licensing my legal guns. If they try and take my guns I will just say they were stolen. Poor Britians and Austrialians. In the USA, I called 911 2 times without an answer. The 3rd time it took 3 minutes for the police to pickup. The Police and the Government are a JOKE. They will not protect U. The Police in Chicago or New York or any Big U.S. city will not showup for 911 calls. Sometimes they will come 2hrs later after U are DEAD or Hurt. how horribly in the minority are these people these days? the pro gun crowd in the UK, have they gone underground or something? Has anyone even READ the comments on the BBC videos, like in the BBC video criticizing a Texas man for defending his property? Brits ACTUALLY BELIEVE that they have to ban guns to make society safe, and look to where the bans led, to only more crime. And look at Switzerland, they have tremendous gun ownership per capita, and relatively low crime.

i find it funny that the british ban talked about in this video was to supposedly "make a safer society", as in, reduce gun related crime. if someone is enough of a criminal to shoot someone, theyre not going to give two shits about some regulation saying they cant own a gun. all it does is stops the hunters and sport shooters from owning firearms, while doing nothing to hinder the criminals. if you want to reduce gun-related crime, focusing on stopping the crime part, rather than the gun part.

Why should we trust any government? I trust freedom and when a government starts taking away freedoms for our "own protection", and to "keep us safe" that's the first step to becoming slaves to a government. If the Government doesn't trust us with our guns, why should we trust them with theirs?

People in Finland and Switzerland have easy access to guns including handguns and that same low gun murder rate like the UK. So it's not the guns, it's people! UK has very high overall crime rate as well.
