(Tristan)
The Europeans have not produced any culture because they have lost their faith. Pray they find it again before Europe becomes Eurabia, and Europe is no more . . . .
just think if it wasn't for our ancestors, we would not be here today, yes they may have been throught tough times in their day but, wat ever came their way they passed it, just listening to the music, tell millions of stories you kind of get the feeling of belonging :) love, peace and pride forever !!!
The music is cool. But I think about the homely, smelly, depressed, sickly, people walking around in medieval europe being slaves to Lords and living in darkness with no knowledge of anything except what they heard about God in the Church(which was forced upon them). Poor, illiterate people, who died of disease because they didn't think to boil their water
@TheBirdMamma I don't necessarily think they were depressed. There are plenty of happy stories and songs from the time. If it's all you know, then that's normal for you. Ignorance is bliss. Also, they avoided disease by brewing their dirty water into beer instead of drinking it straight. That made it much safer. I know, peasants didn't live very long and their lives were physically unpleasant, and I'm thankful for what we have now, but happiness could and did exist even in their time.
@TheBirdMamma People often exaggerate how "bad" the middle ages were. Heck, even the "dark" ages weren't so dark, and were very vibrant times. Most people's "conventional wisdom" about those times are actually myths. This is the work of Victorian scholars who believed their own culture to be the height of human accomplishments and denigrated everything that came before them. :)
Wonderfull and amazing, i just wonder who is the artist Alla Fransesca? Arany Zoltan? Could you tell me who is the artist and from which album does this track come from? I would really appreciate it. Thank you again for your video.
@fiskerlord The harp comes on then the flute, now a quicker pace-more lively.
I think it is Arany Zoltan and could be a variation on Tourdion.No...on second listening this is a popular and familiar piece but I cannot place it either. I have an extensive playlist and I'm intrigued now...I'll try and find it for you.Maybe Estampie?
After listening again, could be a mediaeval fiddle, with "bourdon" or drone strings, and played double-stopped, but still don'think TM - typically single stringed..
Io lo devo suonare a scuola... Quindi ho lo spartito :D

In fact it doesn't belong to this Era, it belongs to medieval Era.
If you are European, this question is for you: just take a look at the last century... what did we produce that is artistically ours? Tell me?

Reckon that's not a tromba marina - it's a rotta - bowed lyre like a Welsh crwth.
