This is such an interesting song to be remade the 2 times to make it a hit in 3 different decades and I like all 3 and I think many others felt that way. The Loco-Motion must have lived up to it's lyrics, "It even makes you happy when you're feeling blue." I don't know too many songs where I can write that I like all 3 versions -- part of that is definitely the artists, including Kylie, but obviously the writers, Carole King & Gerry Goffin had a lot to do with that.

She reinvented herself as a dance/club singer which was perfect for her. I always thought it strange the same thing happened to Natalie Imbruglia--a fellow Aussie. She had one hit and fell into obscurity as her second single never made it.

I disagree! You must live in the States, because Kylie was NEVER a "1 hit wonder" in other areas of the world! Just the opposite, she streamed a lot of big hits in a consequtive manner! The question is, why the good foreign music couldn't (and still can't) break into the US market? Maybe, the radio and TV stations were behind this phenomenon. Fortunately, thanks to youtube, now anybody can hear every kind of music from the world, not just the manipulated "Top 10" lists.

I apologize for that error because I posted that comment before researching it, which is something I usually don't do.
