  • whats the soundtrack playing at 4:15?

  • what the hell? earlier in the movie batman fell like 20 stories when he was trying to save rachel and landed on top of a car and survives but he's slow to get up when he falls like 15 feet through some wood?

  • @Kilox1000 I think during the first fall with Rachel he's supposed to have deployed his memory-cloth cape thing at the last moment to break the fall. Though you honestly can't tell very well from how it's shot.

  • Heads! He lives!

  • Batman technically killed Dent here I though he didnt kill in the nolan films.

  • @grimreap22

yeah, dat was stupid of Nolan.

another thing thats bothering me is DK rising happening 8 years after.

so in 8 years how many times can Joker escape prison?

    hes the one should die.

  • @grimreap22 I think what happened was that he acted out of instinct and tackled Harvey. He didn't want to kill Harvey, but he couldn't let Harvey kill Gordon's son either. But as they went over the edge, Batman would have only been able to save himself and one other person; if he'd tried to save everybody, then they all would have fallen. So he decided to save Gordon's son and let Harvey fall. It reflects the whole Rachel/Harvey situation, where Batman could only save one. It also (cont.)

  • @grimreap22 reflects the ending of Batman Begins, where Batman says "I won't kill you, but I don't have to save you." This indicates that whilst he does have a moral code, he will not save those who are beyond redemption. The obvious exception is the Joker, but that's because Batman knows that if he kills him, the Joker will have won. The Joker's goal throughout the movie is to make people crack and show their inner insanity and rage. Dent falls victim to it; Batman does not.

  • @HeavyWeaponsBaby my butt don't hurt I feel bad because Two Face/Harvey Dent won't be in Dark Knight Rises Two Face/Harvey Dent didn't die in The Dark Knight that's bull shit Two Face/Harvey Dent survived and Christopher Nolan made a bad decision not putting Two Face/Harvey Dent in Dark Knight Rises this Dark Knight Rises movie is going to suck ass because of Catwoman worst villains of all time Catwoman has no boobs in Dark Knight Rises that's sucks.

  • @TheGabriel988 Harvey die in The Dark Knight okay what ever you say is lie. And how can you say The Dark Knight Rises sucks when you not even have seen the movie??

  • who else finds it funny when Gordon says, "Goddamnit will you stop pointing that gun at my family?!"

  • possibly the best ending any movie has ever had

  • They should of had that audio in the trailer "you thought we could be decent men, in an indecent time!", so great.

  • @InShatteredMolds YEAH Two Face is a really powerful character in this film. Too bad he's overlooked. I love that line

  • That laugh at the very beginning...so awesome

  • @Regenmacher175 Black Mask will be in Dark Knight Rises if Black Mask is in the movie will he work for Bane and Scarecrow because I know Scarecrow will be in Dark Knight Rises but I heard that Catwoman and Bane will work together to take out Batman I think there is no romance between Catwoman and Batman I wish that Catwoman has big tities but this Anne woman can't act like Catwoman big failure Christopher Nolan.

  • On this scene you can see that batman prevented the kid of having the same young life that bruce wayne had

  • the best part 8:17-9:11

  • @MultiDruster

True its a very good part but do you want to know the best part of this scene........................... all of it :-D

  • "It's not about what I want, it's about what's fair! We tried to be decent men at an indecent time!" Is why Two Face is just as badass as Joker in the film. He descended into madness rather than started and stayed that way.

  • This is the greatest ending I've seen in a movie. Ever

  • @SGRev1 I agree. This scene is brilliant.

  • My only wish is that they'd gotten the name Two-Face out in the movie, even if it was out of context. I hope they're able to for Bane in the sequel.

  • @KingGhidorah5464 If you're saying that you hope that they won't call Bane by that name in The Dark Knight Rises, they call him Bane about three or four times in the prologue alone. Because Bane's a more mysterious character than Harvey Dent, his real name probably won't be well-known. So personally I can't really see how they can not mention the name Bane :-)

  • @TheUnseenMovieLover nah i was saying i hope they do use the name Bane

  • @KingGhidorah5464 Ah, OK. Sorry, I got my wires crossed. You should be pretty happy with the film in that respect, then ;-)

  • @TheUnseenMovieLover they called bane "bane" in the prologue so I guess we won't hear his real name in the movie.

  • @Regenmacher175 I think so, mate; they called Bane by that name quite a few times in the prologue, so it hints at the fact that his real name's a mystery :-)

  • this scene is so sad i "ALMOST" cried

  • 240p we meet again

  • i hate how in movies the villain stays in 1 movie and dies, for example, spiderman 1 goblin, spiderman 3 venom, this movie two face i mean in the comics they live for like a long time. they need to change that.

  • @mblackman25 scarecrow survived and the joker as well (even though we'll never seee him in this series again). ra's al ghul is a special case since "ra's al ghul seems to be more like a title in nolan's version so that persona's technically immortal.

  • Man I never get tired of this scene. Even though The Joker was amazing, I think Two-Face should have got more recognition than he did.

  • Their daughter, who becomes Batgirl in the comics

  • @TfrPsychoDAn hey another director will do the Batman movies after Nolan finish the Dark Knight Rises watch another director takes over for Nolan after Nolan finish the trilogy @TfrPsychoDAn just watch and see bro. I have a feeling @TfrPsychoDAn that Dark Knight Rises can beat The Dark Knight but will see in July 20,2012 when Batman movie comes out in 2012. Lets wait and see @TfrPsychoDAn when Dark Knight Rises comes out in July 20,2012.

  • @TheGabriel988 nolan said there isnt gonna be a 4, dark knight rises is his last one for the seires, the dark knight stays as a trilogy/saga

  • @ginganinja714 my sister hit the post button by mistake I'm saying is Two Face and Joker over Bane and Catwoman my friend I think The Dark Knight is better than Dark Knight Rises @ginganinja714. Batman fans including you @ginganinja714 will see Two Face back after Dark Knight Rises movie finish in July 20,2012. I hope Batman 4 do Black Mask and Two Face @ginganinja714 my friend.

  • @TheGabriel988 we got black mask's tattooed henchman in this film on the ferry with the prisoners; he threw the detonator overboard...maybe we'll get Black mask as an easter egg in TDKR (since there are some actors with unspecified roles)?

  • @ginganinja714 thanks bro The Dark Knight over the Dark Knight Rises because of Two Face and Joker @ginganinja714 those villains are better than Bane and Catwoman

  • 25 people hadn't seen the movie and so they got themselves spoiled.

  • @west93 I'm telling you I think Dark Knight Rises will suck because of Catwoman bro I don't like female villains. I want men villains I'm not gay bro. I want to see Two Face in Dark Knight Rises Aaron Erkhart Harvey Dent/Two Face @west93. @west93 I want a good movie not this bull shit Dark Knight Rises. The Dark Knight over Dark Knight Rises @west93. @west93 you're my best friend and thank you brother.

  • @TheGabriel988 Cool story, bro.

  • The next Batman film wont be as dark as Nolan's. Why? Because the next Batman will be connected with the Justice League. That is the purpose of rebooting it again.

  • @timtwoface I'll tell you what we will see Two Face again after Dark Knight Rises when Christopher Nolan finish the series bro. We will have a new director and a new cast bro I can't wait I hope we see Two Face again in the Batman films in the future @timtwoface. Aaron Eckhart is the best actor of Two Face @timtwoface my friend.

  • I love how the music goes from dark to heroic once Harvey flips the coin and then Batman tackles him. Fucking epic movie!

  • I'm going to rank Batman villains of all time Batman fans: 1.Two Face,2.Joker,3.Riddler,4.Penguin, 5.Scarecrow,6.Mr.Freeze,7.Bane, 8.Man Bat,9.Black Mask, 10.Deadshot. Those are my top 10 villain of the Batman series of all time Batman fans.

  • Two Face should be in Dark Knight Rises not Bane and Catwoman. Christopher Nolan is a fucking stupid director Two Face didn't die that's bull shit Two Face coin was heads before Two Face fell down. Christopher Nolan why dumbass you kill off Two Face bitch Two Face is my favorite villain of all time and Two Face isn't dead Batman fans. Dark Knight Rises is going to suck because of Bane and Catwoman. The only good thing that I like is Scarecrow he going to be in Dark Knight Rises in full scene.

  • @TheGabriel988 Two-Face is among my favourites and I would love to finally see him get his own movie as the main villain...but Nolan's choice to "kill" him still works for the Shakespearean-styled story he was filming here. A tragic hero. Yes it could have been done differently, but there will be a new Batman series after the next movie, and I bet Two-Face will pop up again. He's easily among the most important villains in Batman's history so he won't be overlooked.

  • @TheGabriel988 relax it is not that serious. Even though i also think Two-Face should be in the Dark Knight Rises. Bane is still a good choice since Two Face isnt in it. Or both of them could have been in it but regardless, Nolan is still a brilliant actor.

  • @TheGabriel988 Butthurt much.

    Nuff said.

  • In Air Force One Gary Oldman did to Harrison ford's character (who was also named Jim) what Two face is doing to Gary Oldman now.

  • Dude the greatest most intense scene of the movie is 3:50 to 4:45!!!! maybe the most intense i have ever been for a movie

  • Batman is almost about to pass out.

  • Brilliant

  • @kaminogorou1 fair enough:-)

  • Harvey Dent died a Hero. Two Face lived long enough to see himself become a villian. However we learn another message in this scene. The Joker was wrong, Harvey wasn't the best out of the three. Batman was the true Hero.

  • "Why is he running dad?"

"Because we have to chase him."

    xD

  • at 4:48 does anyone get the sense that nolan hinted that Harvey may still be alive with the shot of the coin. Just a wild guess.

  • "Then why is it me who's the only one that lost everything?"

    "It wasn't".

Such good acting in this movie, all around.

  • Comment removed

  • @xmido It was the mutilated side of the coin. It was a silver dollar coin you see, which had heads on both sides. One side was clean, the other burnt, ala Heads and Tails.

  • 25 dislikes? Let's put a smile on that face!

  • Is it me or does Batman in this scene sound like Two Face in Batman TAS?

  • With all this "My family" business, they should have gotten Harrison Ford to play Gordon.

  • its basically a fight between good and evil and ofcourse evil wins mostly..what u say guys?

  • @icafian Good mostly won,at an unbelievably horrible cost.Dent was everyone's hope. Even Batman thought he could give up being Batman when Dent was around,Dent did in DAYS what took Batman MONTHS.And the Joker knew that.Joker Struck at the perfect weak spot;Gotham's greatest strength.Joker risked his own life, knowing if Dent killed him, even only him,Gotham would get messed up,all his cases overturned. This movie is practically perfect in it's tragedy.Good won.though.Good triumphed. At a huge cost.

  • great

  • Gary Oldman - pure quality...

  • can't take batman seriously any more after seeing the collegehumor batman

    FUCK!

  • What the hell?

What kind of a douchebag put in funny as a reaction?

  • @blkdraco2 the joker

  • OMFG HARVEY IS BADASS

  • Watched this about 50 times over last night.

    Absolutely Incredible. So much emotion.

  • Like, like I liked.

  • what makes the scene compelling is the fact that two-face is right and we still beleive that harvey dent is there somewhere. When batman chose to concentrate on the mobsters at the beginning of the film he deliberately gave the Joker the opportunity and time to create chaos. And since Gordon refused to suspend cops the internal affairs office had investidated (Wuertz and ramirez) the joker had people inside the GCPD to use as he wanted.

  • A hero. Not the hero we deserved, but the hero we needed.

    Love that line.

  • A user here brought up an interesting comment...A big mistake in this scene by letting Harvey(Two Face) Decide his fate before deciding the boys, because the coin could have easily been a different outcome for him, then who would decide the boys fate? LOL........ So it's 50/50 for Batman and him, and 75 for the boy.

Either way they kinda make the Harvey character suffer from Stockholm syndrome a little by being manipulated by The Joker in this film.

  • Personally, i always thought this was the best scene in the movie. The Joker is a larger than life character, so i can't really feel too much about what he does, it's cool and interesting to watch, but this scene involves Harvey Dent, a pretty believable character, with real motives and pretty genuine madness. It had a much bigger effect on me.

  • Heath Ledger was of course amazing as the Joker, but I think his performance overshadows the other actors. Everyone did such a great job, and this was one of my favorite scenes and it didn't even include the joker.

  • They spent so much time on the villains in this film... They should have called it "The Joker".

  • i always wondered what would happen if harvey had pointed the gun at him first

    a way different ending

  • funny thing is, over 10 years ago, in "Air Force One", Harrison Ford's character was pleading to Gary Oldman's character in almost the same way as Gary Oldman was doing in this scene.

  • Two Face is a.......BOSS

  • Tell your boy it's gonna be alright Gordon..

    So awesome

  • He CHEATED it landed on heads twice D:

  • @vipsta11: It's a double-headed coin, but the lighting kinda plays tricks on whether it landed with the clean side or burnt side up.

  • EVEYONE WAS SO AMAZING IN THIS FILM!! THIS entire film is probably acting at it's best! R.I.P Heath Ledger. Your portrayl as The Joker will NEVER be lost.

  • What song during 4:33?

  • 1:58 - 2:08 Gordon - "... HARVEY... I'm sorry... for EVERYthing! Please don't hurt my son."

Harvey - "Nigga is you serious?"

  • Lie. Like I lied.

  • shame two-face wasnt in this film for more scenes, aaron eckhart did a great job would of loved to of seen him for a bit longer shame he got killed off at the end!

  • That's future Batgirl cradled in her mum's arms there.

  • Oddly in a way this movie ended in a tie Batman and the Joker had both beaten each other in a way.

  • This is actually deeper than shakespear

  • This is how i want my enemies to die.

Mainly the people at Minnieland where i rotted 3 years away.

They never knew that i was autistic. and that i hated loud noises.

The adults and April Kelly each get a 50/50 chance.

    *BOOM*

  • This is part of my hostage plan

  • @Kpob03 wtf

  • When harvey said hes gonna hurt the one who jim loves most and points gun at his son,his wife and daughter must be thinkin wow ,are we not loved ? LOL

  • watching this movie is a necessary condition to becoming a man

  • so 240p we meet again

  • @GTAStorys I agree it's not the best but at least it's not a fake HD in the title 240

  • so 240p we meet again

  • i'm not trying to be cynical or something, but twoface actually made a mistake. he's supposed to give everyone a 50/50 chance. he gave batman 50/50 by flipping the coin for him, as he did to himself. but gordon's son only had a 25% chance. twoface had a 50/50 chance of dying before he could flip the coin for gordon's son, is what i'm trying to say. he wouldn't have been able to flip the coin for the boy if he punished himself. twoface fucked up

  • @InkySunshine By Your Theory, Gordon's Son Would've had a 75% chance of surviving.

  • @MrRenegation that's what i said. i implied 25% chance of dying, not living

  • @InkySunshine well he is insane...

  • @InkySunshine Two Face also fails at philosophy, he thinks that 50/50 is "fair" for this situation. It is not. Their current chance of dying on the spot is a lot lower than 50/50, he's increasing their chances of dying. That's not fair.

  • @Travaillons well, that makes more sense because his motto is justice. he's morally wrong, but that's the point of the movie, or a big part of it

  • i'm not trying to be cynical or something, but twoface actually made a mistake. he's supposed to give everyone a 50/50 chance. he gave batman 50/50 by flipping the coin for him, as he did to himself. but gordon's son only had a 25% chance, because he needed two heads in a row to get punished. twoface had a 50/50 chance of dying before he could flip the coin for gordon's son, is what i'm trying to say. he wouldn't have been able to flip the coin for him had he punished himself. twoface fucked up

  • Im about to go Harvey Dent on some motherfuckers.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow this was the most intense and amazing scene in the dark knight! Amazing music to go along with it too! Can't wait for dark knight rises!

  • HARVEY TRIPPIN WAY TOO MUCH OVER SOME PUSSY

  • most intense scene of movie

  • Forgive me for being ignorant... (I've never seen the Dark Knight)...

...but... why does Two-Face determine his fate in this scene specifically? Heck, if anything, why does he do it BEFORE he determines the boy's fate? You think he'd do so as soon as he got the coin... or at least after he determines the boy's fate, since if he had gotten the scarred head he would have shot himself and wouldn't have been able to determine the boy's fate...

  • Comment removed

  • @superduperm1 Because he had nothing to lose. He just did not care if he lived or died at this point in the movie.

  • It's going to be alright, son.

  • The transition from the sadness of the Joker's victory to Batman's sacrifice at 6:52 is really one of the most dramatic changes in tone in all of cinema...all done via a change in music that creates an entirely different tone. Hans Zimmer's score for this movie is highly underrated and one of the best of all time, and so is the acting in these movies. That the establishment won't give oscars to "comic book" movies (sans the totally obvious Joker) doesn't dispel this fact.

  • @UncleSamsCabin Thats what im saying! The tone of the music makes this scene even more godlier.

  • @UncleSamsCabin Thats what im saying! The tone of the music makes this scene even more better

  • There is more depth in these 10 minutes than most movies have in their entirety.

  • HD much!

  • Juggling two villians in a movie is never easy. I think Nolan did a good job in balancing the movie between the two villians. I think if Harvey Dent had some role in Batman Begins it would've been better.

  • Aaron Eckhart's acting was also really good. He was absolutely paranoid and depressed to the point of shifting from a heroic icon to a muderous madman like the Joker. Every villian in the Nolan trilogy so far has been really unique.

  • I love the line, "It's not about what I want! It's about what's fair!"

  • Hans Zimmer created a musical track that puts us in the mind of a bi-polar maniac at the end of his ropes....hence the Two-Face. The dude deserves more than gold. He puts emotion into movies that can't even be described. Hans Zimmer is my f'in Hero.

  • wtf is "he is the hero gotham deserves but not the one it needs"

  • I'm surprised by the response. I loved Two-Face in this.

  • I hope if this film will be re-released in about some years or something,

Nolan will put out the editing in Bale's bat-voice so he will sound

like he did in Batman Begins

  • I wish two face got a movie by himself

  • Damnit, harvey was too selfish in this one. he didnt think of what everyone else lost, especially bruce.

  • Two face from the animated series was better then this. that is an opinion and i am entitled to it.

  • Batman - You dont want to hurt the boy harvey

Harvey - God Damnit would you stop popping up like that?

  • Although I admire Aaron Eckhart's performance as both Harvey Dent and Two-Face, I have to go with the animated series rendition of him better. In TAS he actually suffered from a split personality which made him much more darker and tragic. In TDK, he was just a guy out for revenge which was tragic but to simple for me. That is just my opinion.

  • @jal7852

This film did Joker right, but not exactly Two-face.

  • @jal7852 Well isn't that the point, in a way? He wasn't built up to be someone who had split personality problems but rather someone who appeared incorruptible, which is why his fall is that much more "tragic."

  • @thaR3ardon

Hmmm. Good point. I never thought of that.

  • this is my favorate part of the whole film :]

  • it seems like two face was more angry with gordon than any of the other people he confronts in the film, he seems to hate him more than the joker

  • I'm more than glad that Ledger got an Oscar but I feel like Eckhart deserved a nomination. He adds such weight and tragedy to this performance that makes him both terrifying and moving at the same time. Stupid Academy.

  • Wow, people who complain about the joker being left to live are either not trying or are just really stupid; You don't kill mentally diseased offenders because they are not responsible for their crimes, even if these crimes are reprehensible. now, you could make the argument that this Joker is not insane, as he can only test people on their moral spectrum if he knows what's right and wrong but they'd have to get him to court. Also, batman does not intentionally kill two-face.

  • i felt bad for harvey dent

  • being serious here, but did like half of his dick brn when he was on fire?? his whole left side was so im guessing yea

  • I got goose bumps during this scene, it was so intense and emotional.

  • "Then why was it me who was the only one who lost everything?"

    "..... It wasn't"

AHH! that part makes me cry :'( poor batman

  • Great acting

  • is there anyone else that thinks Aaron Eckhart should've got some nominations, maybe even an oscar nomination?? It's obvious that Ledger put on the role of a lifetime and was well deserving but I think think Eckhart should've at least been honored with a nomination. I think he's pretty awesome in this final scene and throughout the movie

  • @Nytex03 Aaron Eckhart is always underrated. Have you seen the movie Thank You for Smoking? He was perfect in that film.

  • @Nytex03 I for sure think so. One of the most incredible aspects of this film to see go ignored. Some of the best lines in the movie: "It's not about what I want, it's about what's fair!!" and "You CAN'T GIVE IN!!" are said by Harvey Dent. Very dramatic.

  • So if at 4:00 the coin landed on the burnt side, Harvey would have just blown his brains out?

  • Did anyone else want one of Gordon's family members to die?

  • @StaightJoc Does anyone else think you're a sick twisted little freak?

  • no matter how many times i watch this clip, i still get chills whenever batman tackles two face

  • @IGB06255

I think Two-Face was no insane, so mentally unstable, that he was even willing to kill himself if that's what chance told him to do. Judging by that fact I would say that even if he didn't die in TDK, he probably would've died some time or another by his own hand.

  • @theflamer44 thats the point. the joker was powerful enough to turn the best (symbolically) of them into a madman whose only ally (or greatest enemy) was chance. A lot of people, including the shithead oscar people, dont realize that this movie is more about that symbolism? than anything else, including the awesome action.

  • so by killing Two Face, did he break his one rule? he pushed him off the frickin cliff, if you ask em thats killing

  • @cpillarie

    A few things:

    1) LOL if you think that's a cliff. Attend any type of earth science or geography class for once in your life...it can do wonders.

    2) His intention wasn't to kill Harvey...he was saving Gordon's son.

  • Comment removed

  • @bohottie Hey, man, at lest you understood what i was talkin about, ofc its not an actual cliff, you should pay attention to the fact that everyone hates a realist, it can do wonders. and yah, I understand that it wasnt his intent, but regardless what the intent was the fact is he killed Harvey, therefor he broke his 1 rule, lol. calm down, bro, its just the internet ^.^

  • @cpillarie Sorry if I was harsh...I was drunk when I wrote that =p

  • @bohottie lol, its all cool, i totally understand :D

  • Why they make him die so fast ??? he should not die the time he became two-face

Peoples who watched Batman Forever would find it weird....

Now the Whole Series is screwed

Unlees he isn't dead and he returns in Dark knight Rises

  • @IGB06255 thats what i hope, hes still alive, but he araon eckhart said he would not be returning for the dkr, even though he wanted to.

  • @IGB06255 He won't return in TDKR. Nolan said himself.

  • @IGB06255 yeah but the thing is that in all of these american comics, not least of which, the biggest ones (e.g. spiderman, batman, etc.), all the myriad storylines get so twisted and conflicted, mostly because a lot of people start writing for the comic, that it really doesnt matter what anyone does to the story anymore

  • First movie:Scarecrow represents fear Rah's al'ghul:Batmans teacher

    Second:Joker:Worst enemy of Batman

  • Who two-face was nuts. He was about to shoot a little kid.

  • @doctorseaweed2

Yes, the Joker drove him mad. There's nothing more dangerous than a man who has nothing to lose. Great film, great video.
