This is way better than the shitty underground scene nowadays. Now all us teens got for an underground scene is a bunch of emo douche-faces in their sisters pants whining/screaming onstage (probably from the pain of their slit wrists and scrunched balls). Someone needs to bring this back, and Green Day isn't helping at all.
@DontEatEggs666 I hate seeing this shit every where I go. I get it, young people scare you. But seriously, that is not the state of the current underground scene. There are just as many great underground bands out there now then there was at any time. There will never be another Minutemen, Fugazi, etc but just because you aren't involved in music any more doesn't mean music sucks now.
how can you not like a band with a song title like "roar of the masses could be farts", I LOVE the minutemen. I wish we still had 'em around. though Hurley and Watt are still pretty badass.
Boon, Watt, and Hurley (i.e, the Minutemen) made timeless music. As a teenager in 1984, I remember playing their seminal Double Nickels on The Dime for the first time (on vinyl of course). I was blown away! Still have the record. Clearly, one of the BEST albums of the decade. Seeing them live was a pleasure. They blazed a path few could ever hope to repeat.
same deal, same year probly! but it was politics of time i started with. how do you describe an lp with like 40 tracks- recorded on tape recorders, in studios, at clubs..
nothing compares to these guys, nothing before or since.
Yes, they were true originals. Dedicated to a pure artistic vision and chartering an independent path that was all their own. Seems like all that is dead and gone now. Kind of sad.
wow, they sounded really good live

fIREHOSE still has the same vibe as The Minutemen did. You know, that jam music that Mike is such a fan of.
