I'm a slender hour glass figure with a sway back, pants invariably sag down or bunch up around my upper thighs. I'm hopeful about this pattern and being able to fit them myself. By the way your bottom looks fine! It must be a great pattern (joke).

Trudy, thank you for being the 'fat girl modelling pants'. Now this fat girl has a chance to sew herself some fabulous pants like yours. Honestly, I nearly cried when you showed your side view - that's me! AND that's the part of me that causes me the most grief when it comes to fitting anything, but especially pants. Hi Trudy - thanks for the pant's fitting tips, you've inspired me to try with a muslin!!Like the others I'd love to see a DVD of pants fitting, it's the one thing I have great difficulty with. Also you look great - it's all that confidence!

They are indeed gorgeous! And even more importantly, I have decided that "A fat girl modeling pants" is my new favorite obscure expression. Like, "Violet, I saw you dive off the high dive yesterday! What a fat girl modeling pants you are!' Sort of the opposite of 'Don't be a big girl's blouse'.

I have avoided pants in the past for myself because I don't want to fit them. I think it would not be such a nightmare with this pattern. I watched my mom fit all her pants but then she was a Pro.

Thanks Trudy for braving the camera for us - it's so heartening to see a regular body and the pants do look fab! I'll be cutting out my muslin tomorrow and have a question for you - if I have another pant muslin that fits me well between the waist and the crotch can I use that as a guide for making some simple starting adjustments (crotch length/position etc.) before cutting out or should I go for an unadulterated version of the Marrakesh pant and make my changes based on how that fits? Thanks!
