Larry Bird might be a better shooter than Dirk, but he was never an out and out PF. In fact he played SF throughout most of his career. Kevin Love has a lot to prove before he can be counted as being even close to Nowitzki's level. As far big men go, at 7 feet tall there has never been a guy who can shoot the ball as well as Dirk.

After Robinson retired he was surrounded by mostly undersized "centers" with a good jumper. Who was defending all the opposing centers after Robinson retired? Duncan. He even played next to a prototypical PF in McDyess and people still claim he's a PF.

He doesnt just "get the right pass" he sets plays for his team and works to get those passes... also tim duncan was all nba defensive countless times in his career, Tim is a MUCH better defender than Dirk.
