  • WOuld've been nice if you filmed from the side

  • Great work!

  • nice! Im a 16 year old lacrosse player and ive been doing 350! Im working on 400 but its gunna take some time.

  • I can't come close on deadlift but I almost got this down on squat =D... but gotta ask, why you not wearing shoes?

  • David?

  • i did 400 and im 15

  • @whosyodady69 cool i did 470 and im 16

  • awesome. had to watch this because im at 365.... only 35 pounds to go!

  • im 16 and my new low is 300 X3 400 is not so far away anymore

  • The squat hits the hamstrings and thighs. From what i have been taught it has much more carry over to the dead lift then the dead lift dose on the squat . I hope you would not consider rude for me to ask how long it has been since you first tried a deadlift and or first started training it

  • it took me a little over a year to reach a max of 405 lbs. i deadlifted progressively about one a week and hit a new max about every 5-6 weeks

  • i know what you mean my gym is the same the floor is not designed for deadlifting, once again good lift!

  • Nice lift, i'd lower the bar quicker at the bottom tho

  • thanks, if I had my choice I would just drop it but this is an office gym and the floor below already complains about dropped weights...a real pain!

  • @roebuckk tell them to go fuck themselves.

  • Nice max of 400. But try and have both hands facing the same way. When you use the over under grip it doesn't work your back the same way.

  • how in the world will it make a difference? you can lift more and thus overload your back more?

  • Thats what Id prefer, but the bar wants to roll out of my hands when I do an over or under hand grip. Thats why I do a reverse grip, myself.

  • that was nice !

i recently nailed 375 and soon hoping to get 400 :)

  • thx and good luck with your goal of 400. The key is progression...to do a little more each and every DL workout

  • good job there bro if you wear a tight belt then you would lift it more easy...dead lifts are a matter of focus and form...mix squats and dead lifts together strong thighs equal stronger dead lifts...if you could squat 400lbs then you should be able to deadlift 400lbs...god job though....

  • yeah this was my first attempt at 400 lb and it was a struggle but I don't like to train with a belt as it takes away from core development. I also train the squat but not sure how much that helps my deads since the squat mostly targets the quads while the DL targets the posterior chain (hams, gluts, back) but it probably helps some.

  • No harm in playing it safe on your max attempts though.

  • did you warm up before doing this I weight 160lbs and I usually warm up with 225 before attemping max I do 15x185 10x225 8x300 and then if going max i always go for three, or ill do what i call 5+ if trying to gain strength. my max is 375 for set of three it's good to play it safe and be able to not get pain that prevents you from getting stronger permantly vs diabled temporarily and if your not conditioned then maybe even permenantly.

  • I pyramid up to my max as follows: 135x12; 225x6; 315x3; then do 385x1 and then a max lift in this case 400 but I recently hit 405 and hope to get 415 soon.

  • Nice dude but just throw the thing down next time, its only going to strain your back immensely.

  • believe me I wish I could but this is a gym on the 5th floor of an office building and they would not appreciate the huge thud from above.

  • Oh okay dude my badd hahha.

very nice of you to put that strain on your back for the sake of a thud haha

  • nice!

  • Nice Lift!
