  • I say The best guitar player alive.

  • agree best solo ever!!!

  • Eric Clapton or David Gilmour???? they both play the best solos they both gods

  • Fenders are the worst guitars ever. Why would I pay more than a thousand dollars for a crappy stratocaster that has terrible buzzing noises due to age old single coils that are crap, doesn't sustain as good as Gibson, Jackson, and Ibanez, and comes with an ugly white pick guard? I should think not. The cheap Fender stock paint, pickups, pickguards, tuning pegs, and fretboard material sucks. If you play a Fender and I offended you thumb this down. If you agree with me, thumb this comment up.

  • Eric ist der Beste !! ;.)))

  • That's right Jeff!! EC is trailblazer, freakin' pioneer, refined TASTE to the 20th power. Notice how he eases into it, just popping little clean funk ditties, then begins to burn a little bit, keeps building & ends up smokin' up high! He took the crowd on a ride as they all felt his vibe as he builds to a Climax! Kinda like SEX?!! He's the man & there will never ever be another!! Millions would recognize his playing in 10 notes or less!

  • Dear EC haters,

Yes, yes he invented nothing, and maybe for you it's boring stuff. What you seem to miss is EC's innate ability to reach the spirits of those of us who find the assembly, musicianship and heart, yes somehow heart is often part of the EC package, compelling. Few other guitarists, nay MUSICIANS, have ever reached me the way EC does. Hate on but in the end he IS a legend, he IS revered by many many people. Why revered ? Well, maybe he reached their spirits as well. Long live EC !

  • Relatively Boring pentatonic blues playing. This is highly over-rated. Clapton hasn't been on his game since Cream.

  • @glezzery62 I'm forced to agree...the thrill is gone.

  • @glezzery62 Couldn't agree more. Clapton has never done anything for me. I've failed to see what was so mind blowing about his work. His stuff with Cream was good, but Jimmy Page out shined him in every possible way imaginable. Same with Albert King, SRV, and a host of others.

  • so, there will be a few a few (hundreds) guitarists who play faster and louder. But never forget, you guitarbrats:

    1. EC invented it all

    2. You don't have to die to be a legend

    3. You don't have to be the strongest soldier to be King.

    For King he is.

  • @58Mellon Clapton didn't invent the blues/pentatonic scale.

  • I keep listening to this day by day - never gets old - neither does he!

  • This is just outstanding!

  • Liked @ 00:45 heh I'm such a Clapton whore lol

  • im in love with his fingers *.O

  • Can you believe that The Beatles considered recruiting this man after Harrison stormed out?! And can you believe that he probably would've joined!? Good God! Imagine Eric Clapton on something like Come Together!!

  • @DinoDude65 No thanks. The Beatles didn't need him and that album is perfect the way it is.

  • You've actually described it. Clapton is God! The unique truly explanation!

  • Really nice choice...there are so many great ones to choose from...it was really cool how he had the back up singers tuned in to the solo too...thanks!

  • @Indymirage You're welcome! Have a great new year!

  • what the hell, this is the kind of thing I hear at every jamming session I'm at.... whats all this fuss about? Obv is better than all these shredders but it just sounds like a chilled out guy with a guitar...

  • Fuuuck!!!

  • AMAZING! That's real music and real talent! I hate the fact that some guitar players nowadays think that a good solo is just make the strongest and loudest fucking sound they can.

Real music isn't breaking the instrument down, real music is what Eric does: he has such a soul and knows how take the best melody out of the guitar. It's just amazing how his fingers work, reaching each note! And it's beautiful to see the passion he has when he plays! Loved it!

  • That's just awesome

  • One of the great things about Clapton is this: Some people know how to make the guitar work and can play a trillion notes per second and some people are musicians who use the guitar to express their musicianship. Clapton is the latter. His solos are an extension of the melody of the song. They are also sh it hot and make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up on end!

  • @xxxmicamicaxxx All of that, PLUS Clapton can play a trillion and ONE notes per second. Hahaha. It's amazing how much control he has over each individual note. Truly the best guitarist in history, in my opinion.

  • I don't hear what people think is so great about this guy! Stevie smokes this guy in every way imaginable!

  • When EC is in the mood he is unbeatable

  • How could anybody honestly give this a thumbs down? We should all be given extra thumbs up buttons just for this one video

  • Title: God plays guitar

  • Eargasm.

  • clapton and gadd<3

  • The Burger King`s on drums

  • play like him then comment !

  • Yep, one amazing solo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That is feel.

  • king of guitars solo....

  • MY MIND IS BLOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ahhhhh....... eargasm

  • h0ly-c0w! Seems about the usual way EC plays 'Sherrif', until he lets fly with a section about double usual pace! From 2.00 onwards, he's in danger of a Speeding Ticket. He doesn't usually hit the sort of super-fast Santana rate, with notes flying like confetti at a wedding, and he USUALLY keeps his eyes closed for a solo - I think he was stepping outside his comfort-zone here, and it came off beautifully. What else did you expect?

  • i dont care what his guitar looks like that man can play can listen to him play all night

  • god there need to be more clapton solos on youtube! someone upload!

  • best solo I've heard from Clapton since the 70s!

  • Awesome what you can do with 5 notes

  • okay, that was amazing. :)

  • god that was awesome, wish he was in every reggae band i ever saw.

  • . wow.

  • Can't compare BB vs Eric . BB's sound go into, Clapton go out (wish u could understand me, my English is not good)

  • It could look like a turd for all I care. Who gives a shit when it sounds like heaven?

  • i know this solo. cool!

  • A master class from the worlds best guitarist and in my humble opinion the greatest player ever to pick up a guitar.

  • yes, amazing... at this point never seen a healhier, more satisfied Clapton. In my top ten great jams.

  • DIOOOOS, que potencia!!!

  • I seen him with Joe Cocker in Sheffield in 96.............and this definItly " I Shot the Sheriff "

  • I seen him with Joe Cocker in Sheffield in 96.............

  • any kind of guitar that has been played by EC. would be one of the most precious guitar

  • what song is that?????????????????''

  • @jordigsg It's called "I shot the sheriff"

  • @jordigsg the best version of this is live at hyde park look it up its amazing

  • @jordigsg i shot the sheriff

  • i shot the sherriff ;)

  • his guitar is not so bad!!! i will give my balls for be that guitar

  • Just about every solo on the 2006 Cream reunion show shits all over this....imo

  • i love clapton but his guitars look like old patchwork quilts in a charity shop

  • @skillzdatkillz900 Hahaha yeah, it's not his best guitar..

  • @kirtashgaara I love his black Stratocaster with that EMG Clapton signature mics...

  • @skillzdatkillz900 i LOVE that guitar man

  • @Verdagol11 each to their own

  • @skillzdatkillz900 and what could be wrong with that?

  • @queenslandcandy nothing, i just don't like the look of his gutiar, that's all

  • @skillzdatkillz900 It might explain my tastes better if you knew I quilt and love EC.

  • @queenslandcandy well then that makes sense lol

  • @skillzdatkillz900 its art....

  • eric loved bob marley

  • I need to hire Eric Clapton's marketing team. Because you people are seriously bullshitted.

  • GOD. Nuff said...

  • Did you know that B.B. King can't play and sing at the sometime. Seen it on a documentary, still could crap, but sounds like it might be true and if so, he and I have something in common; I can't chew bubble gum and walk at the same time.

  • @theBarabarian I can't sing and play either.

  • Dont Need To Sing The Guitar Sing For Him

    AMAZING!!!!!!!

  • the man was on that night !

  • his tone and touch are amazing here, best solo of him in my opinion

  • EC you are the special one!!!!!!

  • I`ve seen Eric perform since the `70s. Sometimes he`s wasn`t inspired ( read to drunk to perform ) , other times he was plain God on 6 strings. But it was always something to remember. He`s one of the very few that realy masters the guitar in every way.

In the 60`s he was booked with John Mayall in Schiedam for 2 hours , they stayed for 6 hours playing straight till morning.......legendary!!

  • Thank you for the upload. Always nice to remember that EC can still do it!

  • @benawl You're welcome, I'm glad you liked it!

  • Well I must listen to them both. Has he ever done a bad solo? Nope!

  • @barabbas57 I don't think so! =D

  • Don'/t know for sure, but I would say that this song is "Forever Man"; not "I Shot the Sherriff".

  • @barabbas57 I can tell you this is the "I shot the sheriff" solo, 100%! Trough I've also uploaded the Forever man's solo! =D

    /watch?v=-DaZZ3yMNxc

  • Yeah, the wrap-up is the line signature for I SHOT THE SHERIFF. But when you get to fly with this kind of swing shuffle cohesion across the arc of an instrumental lots of tales are told in the folds. -Dave@Woodpile

  • Eric might be good. but BB king IS the king of emotion... he has way more emotion then eric has, as well as buddy guy

  • Now this song sounded good the minute I pressed play. Guitar solos are GREAT!! People love them. There are songs where the player may connect on various levels and it just jells and fits the song so well. I like Lay Down Sally where the drums just is simpley repeating the basic structure (Groove) and Eric just lays it down and gives the track the very best solo that fits the song.

  • I am blessed ..I've seen him playing live in 2008 tour..lucky me...

  • @kiranchamling20 i saw him in 2010!

  • #ericclapton Amazing Solo !! GOD Is Here!

  • I love his guitar!!!!!! -3

  • I CAN DO THIS SOLO WITH MY TOES..... (KIDDING).... ERICK CLAPTON IS AWESOME ((((((NOOOOOTTTTT KIDDING)))))) :D

  • for ever Clapton Eric Clapton = God of Guitar

  • espectacular!!!!!!!

  • And people still are jealous of Clapton???? Face it he is as great as they come!

  • the only performance that can match the power of this one is Peter Green World keeps on turning, both of which are like GOD

  • Anyone else notice Clapton kinda dresses like Charlie Sheen....or should i say, Charlie Sheen dresses like Clapton. After all, God came first.

  • wow i love this song

what is the name of this song. Who wrote it

  • @fireton7 The name of the song is: " I shot the sheriff" by Bob Marley, but this is the Eric Clapton's version.

  • BB King RULES!

  • he's awesome, but in my opinion knopfler is even better ;)

  • I think that's pretty cool that just one human can do all of those sounds from one guitar! :)

  • The man has so much talent and class....

  • Comment removed

  • "bb king" is the king of the blues

  • @abbb350 BB king may be the king of the blues, but we're talking about the god!

  • @kirtashgaara i know who you are talking about im not stupid, i was just saying in general

  • @abbb350 okok don't get angry, I was just replying..!

  • Clapton and Hendrix are both one of a kind. Hendrix played dirtier and made love with his guitar, and Clapton has such a clean sound but theres just that something about it thats so amazing!

And they both played Strats ;)

  • @jordanlevesquemusic

    well, that#s erics problem.

with a gibson, his trusted wah, his marshall amps he blew hendrix off the stage from 65 to 68.

i think jimi started really getting it hot live in 68 fromx all the concerts i heard, then he freed himself from the studio versions.

  • @jordanlevesquemusic

back then clapton had the greatest dirty sound ever to grace this earth.

    the woman tone.

  • It's Clapton, but it's also the whole band. His playing obviously inspired them. Amazing solo. Thanks for posting this.

  • @standupstella You're welcome!

  • IS this I shoot the sheriff? It sounds like that

  • What one can say but ERIC CLAPTON

  • @egoran181 he's a decent blues player... but highly overrated in my opinion.

  • @wfenio even EC said that SRV was the best blues guitar player. couldn't agree more

  • @cyczanin @cyczanin yeah..true. SRV was actually awesome. he took electric Blues playing to another level with songs like 'Little Wing', 'Scuttle Buttin', 'Lenny', 'Rude Mood' among others... He had more of a soulful feel for the guitar whereas Clapton often sounds too stuffy and reserved like the uptight Englishman that he is. Not that all English players are uptight.. obviously not.. Jimmy Pages blues playing had alot more fire and soul 25 yrs ago than Clapton's does now! IMHO

  • 2:38 some guy smoking weed :)

  • @fartmoneys hahahahaha!

  • Clapton at his best...

  • Just PERFECT! CLAPTON IS GOD

  • Hey Hank Marvin was doing this when Eric was at school.

  • EC is good, but if I can do it as well as someone, it's not amazing. To me, that is.

  • @jimn1968 OK then EC is good! And if you could do it as well as someone?? Then well I guess you're not amazing??? To me, that is. What? Who Huh. What

  • That just gave me shell shock! Clapton could slay dragons with his axe.

  • Truly Amazing .... and I don't study music...I just appreciate God given talent :)

  • wow!!!!.....just wow!!!

  • How I wish I got to go to Crossroads 2010 :/

  • ..blows my brain out every single time

  • clapton music wont ever die

  • That's why Eric Clapton will never be "beaten"

  • @kirtashgaara so true

  • @kirtashgaara really yeah im pretty sure he already has been by about 25 people.dave mustaine.kirk hammet.jimmy page.angus young.slash.kerry king i can keep going if u want

  • @airsoftrules987

xDDDDDDDDDDD you're such a funny guy.

angus young sounds good but is pretty basic compared to the best of em.

hammet is good for overusing a wah, not much more.

mustaine, well, wrote the solos hammett played.

page STOLE claptons guitar sound from 65 to 68 and played it a lot sloppier and less sharp.

slash is good but not even close to young clapton or hendrix.

and kerry king, well, speed isn't everything, ask lemmy.

  • Prifessional

  • hahahah you Cannot compare Eric Clapton to mayer... this is blasphemy

  • excellent solo, i really didn't think he had it in him.

  • I don't know who is the best if Santana or Eric, but I really know he's fucking good DMN!

  • 1:59 Best part I love it

  • Ya that was just amazing.

  • Straight to the soul mann

  • Eric Clapton is and ALWAYS will be the GREATEST of them all!!!!!! Period!!! Done!!!! Discussion over!!!!

  • Mayer style is more SRV, he's too agressive. King of the blues is still BB King. He's not dead, by the way.

  • man eric is soo damm good!

  • all you shred-heads keep busting on the guy BUT you still stay for the entire solo. there's a reason this guy sells out an auditorium he feels like and Mahlmsteen is scratching his balls alone.

  • John Mayer sucks my balls

  • Man this is amazing! John Mayer plays good too.

  • No mortal man can or will ever touch Clapton.

  • John Mayer is the new King Of Blues ladys...

  • @puchalaka

Mayer may be the king... but Clapton will ALWAYS be the GOD!!!!

  • Not until Eric's music die!

  • @kirtashgaara I have a strange feeling that ain't happening any time soon.

  • @kirtashgaara It won't die

  • @puchalaka sry but kirtashgaara is wrong....BB KING's STILL HERE! even clapton said it himself...

  • @puchalaka not until he stops coming out with weak studio albums

  • @TheColintovey I agree he's by far the finest Live guitarist out there, but takes good material and over produces it in the Studio. Then takes it out on the road and makes them great.
