But there were all sorts of other Zionists. One was Ahad Ha'Am (Asher Ginsberg), who insisted on creating a Jewish think tank in Jerusalem. Nothing else, no Jewish state, just a think tank. He was very angry when something else, something bigger, started to emerge.

By 1914, Chaim Weizmann spoke of those "who have drenched the soil with their sweat and blood [and who] will defend our possessions, should anything happen in Palestine." What blood was he talking about? Jewish blood, same as now. And who was spilling it? Local Arabs, same as now.
The ideas of Buber and Magnes - of "if a single local Arab is against it, it shall not be even if all Jews die" - went out with Hajj Amin al-Husseini and Hitler. As more and more Jews were dying, less and less were willing to die for Buber's and Magnes's "morality."
But the spirit of these ideas is still very much alive. I have been to many countries, and I have never seen people so much dreaming of peace and harmony, so willing to forgive and forget every wrongdoing done to them and so reluctant to do anything forceful or violent to others, no matter how necessary.
And the ideas of "no Jewish State" or "Jewish State, but not in Palestine" went out with Stalin and Hitler, as Jewish life outside Palestine was becoming more and more dire.
All this and much more, all from a basic idea "Jews are human beings like everyone else, and have the same basic rights as everyone else. Beginning with the right to live."

Don't paste a bunch of names (penicillin was discovered long before Chain took credit for it) into a thread about a woman that does indeed sound EXACTLY like Hitler. @br0073012, though Fleming described penicillin in 1928, it was Ernst Chain and Howard Florey who discovered penicillin's therapeutic action and its chemical composition. Though Flemming recognized its therapeutic potential, he was unable to create an effective medicine. It was Ernst Chain and Howard Florey and a few others who did that.
I never wrote that Jews cured every disease. That's your interpretation.
What "jews" means I have no idea.
