  • Dylan Saunders was always my favourite Dumbledore, anyway. I think they should've just gone ahead and cast him in the films. Maybe add a song, a little dance number with Umbridge and put a kickass Zefron poster in his office.

Yes sir, you're the one professor that I'd want detention from.

  • I've tried to explain this to my family but they don't get it. Though I'm the only one who reads the books obsessively it should be obvious to anyone that something is seriously wrong with Gambon's performance. But they're probably just ignoring me because of my constant whining. I was always disappointed with the films and watch them only to complain.

(After every film I go, "I won't start on the mistakes they made, but ..." and everyone groans. And then when mum does it with LotR I get angry.)

  • RICHARD HARRIS WE MISS YOU

  • This was hilarious.

  • So...the books made Dumbledore this way. J.K. Rowling wrote it in that Dumbledore yells, yet you take it out on the actor? Where the hell does your logic come from?

  • @DarkRage195 lol, wait, what? Dude, if you compare these scenes to the book, they are NOTHING alike. Dumbledore never yells in the book. Compare these scenes to the book and you'll find that J.K. wrote Dumbledore very differently than we see with Michael Gambon.

  • @DarkRage195 What the hell?

  • @DarkRage195 The only time I recall Dumbledore EVER yelling was in the sixth book, when he said, "KILL ME!" And even then, it was the potion talking, not him.

  • Harris was great, i agree, but Gabon is more enrgic, bohemian and there are sometimes where he shows kind, he is not always angry. Appart some eccentricities that are missing in the movies, Gambon shows some of them instead of Harris, but he died, so there is nothing left to do :( If he just where younger

  • Gambledore: Everyone return to your rooms while I anally RAPE this unconscious troll. HNNG!!! HNNG!!! HRRRRRG!!! Sodomicus Maximus!!!

  • @scarabmango you've just about broken my fucking ribs

  • As much as I used to have a petulant gut-reaction of hating Gambon for all this, I realize after more level-headed thinking that it's really the *production* decisionmakers I should be hating. Especially the casting department, who originally made the mistake. When someone tries to force a square peg into a round hole, you don't blame the peg, but the idiot pushing it. As much as he SUCKS in this role, Gambon was really just an ignorant actor showing up for a job.

  • @scarabmango true, but Gambon played a significant part in the butchering of the character. You can blame costuming, script, directing, or anything you want, Gambon is the easiest thing to point to, lol. Check out my Dumbledore Review 2, if you'd like. ;)

  • @Kachukeland Already been there. In fact, you replied to one or two comments of mine there. Anyway, I quite agree that he's partly to blame for butchering the character; it's just that he never set out to do so. In addition to not looking/sounding/having mannerisms like Dumbledore, he never had a frame of reference to correct any of this because he read no books. Gambon's "sins" are more those of omission than commission; he never took this part seriously enough to research it *at all.*

  • @scarabmango ah, i thought the name and logical comments looked familiar, lol

    agreed, sir.

  • I preferred gambon

  • This made me laugh so hard :D

Sure I agree, but what to do...

  • As far as the duel with Voldemort is concerned, it's not as if Dumbledore was running about or started doing backflips. In the books, Dumbledore strolls towards Voldemort and talks calmly about death with him.

  • @Velasca I believe it says something like "...as if they were discussing the matter over drinks." The more calm and casual Dumbeldore is, the more powerful he seems. Especially if Voldemort is "doing backfilps," as you said, lol

  • I think I never loled so hard watching any video on youtube as much as I laughed watching this one. And I'm not exaggerating.

    Thank you. I needed this.

  • This video made me laugh and cry at the same time...

  • Most of the people who think Richard Harris wouldn't have been able to handle Dumbledore's more aggressive scenes in the later books are probably judging him as an actor based solely on their experience of watching him in the first two Harry Potter films. Check out some of Harris's earlier Irish films, like The Field – the man can be angry when he wants to! It would have been a joy to see him act out the confrontation with Voldemort in the fifth film. Gives me chills just thinking about it...

  • @SPRLDR Agreed, and it's not as though Dumbledore was a role that required acrobatics or something. All it took was screen presence and the ability to walk and wave a wand. Christopher Lee or David Warner would have been excellent Dumbledores.

  • The only downside to the harry potter movies.. oh yeah there's also the change of directors and music composers.. - _ -

  • If I ever found out who first mentioned the name "Michael Gambon" during the casting process, I would inflict bodily harm on that person. It would involve a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire. I would not begin employing said bat until I was *finished* beating them. Yeah...what you think I mean.

  • Michael Gambon's Dumbledore at King's Cross

DUMBLEDORE: (runs towards Harry) HARRY, WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE! YOUR SUPPOSED TO FIGHTING VOLDEMORT, NOT WANDERING AROUND HERE!

HARRY: But sir, I don't understand...

DUMBLEDORE: POTTER!!! YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND? YOUR MEANT TO FIGHT VOLDEMORT,YOU FOOL!!

    HARRY: SORRY SIR,

Dumbledore strangles Harry and pushes him!!

  • i am agree

    Richard Harris

    was the best dumbledore

and when the third film got out i just whatta fuck is this dumbledore is change like shiiit

  • @MrKrister13 im agree

  • @HarryPotter6799 also i am agree

  • I seriously hate Gambon in this role so fucking much that I want the casting department strapped into electric chairs and fried with dry sponges on their heads. As for the writing, wardrobe and directing...I would be content to bring the guillotine out of retirement.

  • Gambon, I'm afraid to say, assrapes the character of Albus Dumbledore. His acting is kinda "say the lines with a stony face, but sometimes do his own version and fucking scream and shout". Everytime I read the sixth book, wich has the most Dumbledore parts, I weep for the loss of Harris. Imagine him in the latter films, and with some other lines. God damn...

  • I can't imagine if David Yates stuffed up Gambon even more in DH Part 2 at Kings Cross (Original Script) Dumbledore sees Harry: Harry, you brave brave man. Let us walk." (Gambon) Dumbledore sees Harry HARRY!!!WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!" <runs at Harry" Harry: Sir, please! Dumbledore grabs Harry by the shoulders at starts strangling Harry "YOUR MEANT TO BE FIGHTING VOLDEMORT" Harry: But sir, I dont understand why Vol.... Dumbledore: HARRY, BACK TO FIGHTING YOU FOOL!
  • Richard Harris will always be the greatest Dumbledore. He was kind and calm and fitted the description in everyway. But then came that Gambon. He's too frustrated, his beard's stuffed up half the time and he shouts too much.

  • Richard Harris will always be the best Dumbledore. Harris actually read the books and knew what his character was like. Gambon didn't.

  • Both are good. Stop hating...

  • Hermi-o LOL!!!

  • @EarendurTelemnar LOL, I can just see Hagrid saying, "Never... insult Richard Harris... in front of me..."

  • Did they not realise when casting that Christopher Lee was around? I think that's the most obvious person that could even try to pick up where Harris left off

  • @ZZTopRockman Christopher Lee and David Warner were my top post-Harris choices. Either of them would have been the perfect "darker, edgier" Dumbledore while still looking and sounding the part. Whoever first thought of Gambon must have been huffing paint or some shit.

  • You bum Richard Harris lol

  • Comment removed

  • I love the music every time Michael Gambon comes up on the screen XD

  • I like Gambon overall as an actor, but Harris fit Dumbledore's character better.

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Harris was WAY better.

  • It seems to me that this guy is gay to Richard Harris.

  • I liked them both and Gambon was fantastic in the final movies, especialy in Dumbledore's death scene.

  • @Stijn7260 Gambon chews ass. To say that he sucked would be an insult to actors that only went as far as sucking. But Gambon...yeah, he chews ass. Whoever first mentioned his name during the casting process should be lynched by a torch-wielding mob.

  • Well Richard might have been a bit nicer and wiser then the other guy but in the order of Phoenix I couldn't picture Richard dueling voldemort he could have broken his hip or worse have a stroke die lol!

  • @2489hbradley Richard Harris's Dumbledore would quickly walk towards Voldemort, with a calm expression on his face, and would lightly flick his wrist for each spell. Voldemort would barely be able to keep up, and Dumbledore would appear calm. That's how it was in the book, but in the movie, Gambon was having trouble keeping up with Voldey. The movie battle was awful compared to the book. I believe Harris would have been amazing

  • @Kachukeland Amazing...HA! More like unbelievably incredible!!!!!!

  • YES! Richard was the best!!! Michael Gambon looks more like a homeless person.

  • Seen the interview with Ciaran Hinds who will play Aberforth in DH p2?

I think he would have been a good Dumbledore while Gambon should have been the hidden brother.

    /watch?v=VsO83p9laA8&feature=related

  • I think Gambon would've been an okay Aberforth, but he just doesn't know anything about Dumbledore. :(

Sad really. I can't believe they couldn't find ANYONE else better than this.

  • Gambon not only ruined Dumbledore but all the movies since, except the 7th and 8th coz he's not in them that mich...

I can't believe they even considered him let alone let him play Dumbledore...

  • in this video u showed all bad things about Gambon, yeah sure Harris looked a lot nicer ... but it's not Gambons fault that he is like that, he didn't write a script! So this is just my oppinion... they both make an awsome Dumbledore!

*sorry for my english (maybe)* :)))

  • The question is how in the world can J.K. Rowling, who is supposedly supervising the films, allow her character to be changed in that way, for the worse.

  • AMEN BROTHER! Gambon sucks! Harris rules!

  • I Can't Believe It's Not Dumbledore! :O

  • I SO agree with every word. This is a great video.

  • As a Harry Potter fan,Dumbledore has always been my favorite character in this saga and to see his character get screwed up so badly by Gambon after being played to perfection by the late Richard Harris in the first two, made me hate every movie after that. The best part about the 6th movie was that i knew that twat Gambon was getting killed off

  • @LeopoldCrank You think Christopher Lee's voice is gruff? Nonsense! His voice is so deep and smooth he could talk teenage girls into bed TO THIS DAY. You must not understand the character of Albus Dumbledore. There's a lot of that going around.

  • @LeopoldCrank Yes, we needed a darker Dumbledore. What we did *not* need was a pudgy, gruff-voiced man cast in the role or certain atrocious lines written, both of which we got. If you wanted dark, to say nothing of being the right height/build and having amazing voices, Christopher Lee or David Warner would have been perfect choices for Dumbledore.

  • HAHAHA, YES!!! I was completely BAFFLED when I saw this scene in GoF. Michael Gambon is a failure as Dumbledore, but then again, is it really his fault? I doubt he's read the books- like a lot of other actors in the HP movies- and all he has to work off of is what he's told by directors, crew, etc.

Although, if I was cast as one of the main characters is one of the most beloved book series of all time, I would take a month to read up on it. Just me.

  • Your a fucking lame dude, its the same FUCKING characterand surethe dumbledor in the 4th film seemed like a bad dumbledore its because of the DIFFRENT DIRECTORS YOU FUCKING IDIOT. Other than the 4th movie he was fine so shut the fuck up

  • I'm sorry for those people out there that like michael gambon, but honestly I think he sucks as D. Richard Harris was absolutely amazing and was exactly how I imagined Dumbledore to be when I read the books, why oh why did they choose MG? Really now, I mean they could've picked somebody a million times better. Perhaps Michael Caine, or well anybody! Honestly, it pisses me off to no end, Richard Harris for me will always be 'THE' Dumbledore, and I really will never be able to warm up to MG

  • dude i officialy love youre vid.

you put good music to the firts dumbledore and bad to the new one. :D

  • The first time I saw a picture of Gambon, I didn't think I would like his portrayal of Dumbledore at all. But then I saw Prisoner of Azkaban (and yeah I still wonder why he had such dirty finger nails) and thought, "Ok, I can accept this."

Then in the fourth movie, he slammed Harry against a trophy case and I felt so let down by the filmmakers. I would have been ok with Dumbledore getting mad, but I don't think anyone wanted to see him abuse Harry.

  • I wonder if anybody's ever going to do one of those "THIS...IS...SPAR-TA!!!" style remixes, only instead with Gambon going "HARR...EE...POTT-ER!!!"

  • YEAH ... Gambon-haters rule!

HARRY POTTER ... no I CAN'T believe it!

(nothing against Gambon in other films, but he seriously SUCKS as Dumbledore!)

  • lmao, oh god this is great. rofl.

  • I really thought he would scream "SEVERUS, PLEASE!!!" in a Gambonish way at the Astronomy Tower, I was disappointed. XD

  • @TipoSanguineoA i was expecting a high-school-girl-sounding performance, "Severus... please."

  • Comment removed

  • Michael Gambon in that Goblet of Fire scene might have overacted but I guess it wasn't his fault. The director, Mike Newell might have told him to act so furious that he overacted Dumbledore's interrogation

  • HARYYE! didd ye putcha nam in da goblet de fiya!?!?

  • @Shmaaaaa Iye, Dumburudoru-sama!

  • @scarabmango LOL omg, "Dumbledore" sounds so funny with a thick Japanese accent

  • @Kachukeland Yeah. Funny. But nothing can ever undo the letdown you and I feel from Gambon ruining... I don't even want to say his name and Dumbledore's in the same sentence. You and I just GET the character, man. We're the voice of the real fans. Cinematically, Albus Dumbledore has been destroyed by bad casting, writing, costuming, direction...SHIT, what am I saying? Any sane and intelligent person knows Gambon sucks as...who he pretends to play.

  • You know, after Harris died I think they should've contacted Ian McKellen. In fact, they actually did. What did he answer? No. He thought Gandalf was a much more powerful character than Dumbledore (?) and that's why he didn't want the roll. I've also heard that Richard said Ian was a bad actor and that's one of the reasons......(?????)

  • @Holdtheline07 After that, they should have contacted Christopher Lee; I'm not sure the man has turned down a role in his life. Can you imagine how badass "It was a mistake to come here tonight, Tom" would have sounded in Lee's voice? And if Lee said no, what about David Warner? Another tall, imposing Brit with the correct age and an amazing voice! They needed a "darker" Dumbledore? We could have had Dookudore or Dumblerenicus! But no, they went with Gambon because they're IDIOTS!

  • @scarabmango you know, i still like the Danny Devito idea. Imagine him saying that line, "It was foolish of you to come here tonight, Tom. The Aurors are on their way." As Danny Devito slowly walks toward Voldemort... lol

  • @Kachukeland I said he'd be Aberforth! Albus has already been FUBAR.

  • @scarabmango Sorry, correct that, more like FUBAR, SHIT ON, PISSED ON, AND STOMPED INTO HELL BY SATAN HIMSELF!!!

  • @Kachukeland Dude, the moment Gambon replaced Harris, "floor" replaced "ceiling" and "septic tank" replaced "floor." For the purpose of films, Dumbledore has been ruined, HBP included. Next thing you know, his first act in King's Cross will be to slug Harry in the face!

  • @scarabmango Harry will see Gambon in King's Cross, and Gambon will run at him yelling "Harry! HARRY!!" he grabs harry by the shoulders and shakes him, "Harry, what are you doing here?! You're supposed to be out fighting Voldemort!"

  • @Kachukeland Yes, then Gambon will teach Harry the Crane Kick to defeat Voldemort and the ending of the story will change completely. Actually, that would be *more* badass than what really happened, so...yeah, Crane Kick is cool with me!

  • @scarabmango Yeah, I agree! Lee would've been awesome

  • @scarabmango But Lee never played a good guy, did he?

  • @plymouthdodgewrecks Here and there, I'm pretty sure he did.

  • @scarabmango Oh, OK then.

  • surprised at myself, I know exactly how you feel about richard harris in comparison to michael gambon.

Harris' Dumbledore, throughout his portrayal of the character, was the kind of guy who you knew would always be there when you had a problem. He would be a shoulder to lean on when you felt the whole world was against you (like harry felt in the 7th book). I nearly walked out of the cinema during the 3rd film when I saw him.

  • I agree with your video. I thought all those things, especially in Goblet of fire where Gambon turns into a dog without a leesh. I remember thinking; "Oh man, they've really screwed up with this guy, he obviously hasn't read Dumbledore's character".

I think it's the directors fault though - because they don't seem to know that Dumbledore isn't short, plump and bedraggled, and as you say, he doesn't lose his cool.

This is why I am much fonder of the books. The directors play it too loose.

  • i found this hilarious.

  • am i one of those people who preferes michael gambon??

  • @C4LLOFDUTY5 are you?

  • Seriously why are you bagging on Michael Gambon his beard hello its not real and the people making the films and costume design gave it to him its not like he chose it, also he is told how to do his role and yes it was very upsetting when Richard Harris died but sill.

  • @MsBieberfever224 You're right, and I for one *don't* let the people in casting, wardrobe, writing, directing, etc off easy. Everyone involved in what I refer to as the "Gambon Mistake" fucked up in some way. However, let's not forget that it all began with choosing an actor who simply *does not* fit the part *at all.* Gambon is too chubby and his voice is too rough, so he's a dog-shit choice for Dumbledore from jump street; better writing/costumes/whatever could only help so much.

  • studying film and art i can tell you it wasn't the actor's fault. one poit i would give is that gambon could put out a way better dumbledore, harris was too old and sick at the time. if harris was in better conditions sure he would have been the best. but in a profesional opinion gambon makes a better dumbledore.

  • @jsr077 I mean no offense by this, but a Harry-Potter-fan's perspective is more important than a film-student's perspective. Not to take away from your knowledge, it's great that you've assessed the situation in this way. But Gambon's Dumbledore is inaccurate, no matter who's fault it is.

  • @Kachukeland any opinon is important and respected. your view my view, that's good.

  • @Kachukeland agreed.

  • @Kachukeland This coming from a hardcore fan of the books. GAMBON is so much better than HARRIS.

  • @Jhereko Well, that's strange, considering the book Dumbledore is absolutely nothing like Gambon's Dumbledore...

  • @Kachukeland Yeah clearly I disagree and obviously I'm the fan with a better grasp on the books :p. Seriously though did you watch Half-Blood Prince? A) Gambon's performance in that was the best of the franchise and Oscar worthy B) to me Harris had none of Dumbledore's charm, power, wit or danger he had just the kindly grandfather part (a microscopic and misleading aspect of Albus). So yeah...

  • @Jhereko well, there is no opinion to the matter. Gambon's Dumbledore is inaccurate. That's a fact. Although, Gambon improved a lot in the Half Blood Prince (see my second Dumbledore review.)

Anyone who says "I think Gambon was an accurate Dumbledore" is wrong. It's equivalent to saying "I think the sky is red." It's not an opinion, it's just wrong. However, you can say "I like Gambon's Dumbeldore," because that's an opinion.

  • @Kachukeland look back over my comments if you see the statement "I think Gambon was an accurate Dumbledore" I'll eat my own ballsack clean off. I don't think Gambon is an accurate Dumbledore (though If i did it would be a valid opinion) I think Dumbledore's an impossible character to portray, A) he is so special to every reader, we all have our version of him in our minds B) he is so multi-faceted it's a little ridiculous. again though: to my mind Gambon's a more accurate Dumbledore than Harris

  • @Jhereko I said, " the book Dumbledore is absolutely nothing like Gambon's Dumbledore," and you replied, "I disagree and obviously I'm the fan with a better grasp on the books." This heavily implies that you think Gambon is a book-accurate Dumbledore. But because this is a technicality, you are not required to eat your ballsack.

  • Wow, if ALBUS Dumbledore is potrayed like that, I can't seem to imagine how ABERFORTH Dumbledore is going to be prtrayed in Deathly Hallows part 2.

  • @HaydenStudios The part of Aberforth Dumbledore will be played by Danny Devito. They want to ensure that at least *one* worse casting decision than Gambon is made over the course of this project.

  • @scarabmango LOL that was great, i had a good laugh from that!

  • @HaydenStudios Aberforth is being played by Ciaran Hinds, who was in Race to Witch Mountain.

  • @ghfdfhfdndxhcg Wtf...Ciaran Hinds, as in Julius Caesar from Rome? Great actor, don't get me wrong, but he doesn't seem old enough.

  • @scarabmango Yeah, he does seem a bit young. But look it up, it's gonna be him alright.

  • @HaydenStudios xD LOL! I think that it would be pretty coll for Michael Gambon to be Aberforth. xD :))

  • @TheLinkinParkFanGirl Nyyahhh!!!

  • may i just say that this made my day! this basically says everything i ever thought about dumbledore no. 2!

  • i love the Fawkes theme whenever Richard Harris showed up. lol

  • Original Dumbledore was amazing (my partner agrees). The current one is sooo bad, he's a total joke :-(.

  • Well, um.

    I agree with you.

Except in thee goblet book, Dumbledore WAS angry with Harry

but not in a RAAAAAGE sort of way.

I always find it funny that Harry is actually supposed to be more

    RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGEish

(anger issues much?) yet is always rather awkward and quiet in the movies...

    herrm..

  • 3:51 Arnold: "HAHH-RRIEE POTTTAAAHHHHHH" LMFAO

  • please add an "I Keel You" to the end of Dumbledore's "SILENCE"

  • I miss the REAL Dumbledore. He's such a badass (in a nice friendly calm old man kind of way)

  • I miss the REAL Dumbledore. He's such a badass (in a nice friendly calm old man kind of way)

  • I miss the REAL Dumbledore.

  • gambon's dumbledore looks like a drunk, senile hobo who's been on LSD for 2-3 years

  • so true

  • i give props to Gambon for being more energetic and having a funnier delivery for his cryptic clues.. Harris's rasping voice sounded like he could die at any second.

However, good points and a hilarious style

  • @DesperadoBlack Oh Dumbledore is not supposed to be energentic. Do you realize how old he is in the books? Even in the Stone? Richard had Energy Micheal has never been able to capture.

  • Best review I have seen in my whole life, and yes, I am dead serious.

  • Micheal Gambon is a beast, he captures the epic side of dumbledore

  • @M0L0T0VSOLUTION No he captures the crazy man and Dumbledore is not crazy.

  • I seem to remember JK telling us how to prononce Hermione in GOF. Which was a year before the first movie.

  • @harrymcfly56 yeah, technically, GOF came out in 2000, and and the first movie came out in 2001. In the book GOF, Hermione says it slowly to Victor because he has trouble pronouncing it.

  • I find Gambon to be OK in all the HP movies he's in EXCEPT for Goblet of Fire, in which, yes, he DOES act very aggressively and emotionally.

But Gambon was fine in Azkaban, Phoenix and Prince.

But the point is, when the time came for Dumbledore to do his thing, would Harris have been able to cope? I don't for one moment see Harris in Dumbledore's scenes in Phoenix.

  • @Foebane72 I can image Harris kicking some major buttocks in Phoenix. When I imagine the fight between Dumbledore vs Voldemort, I imaging a Harris-esc Dumbledore, not Gambon. Gambon was terrible in that fight, hardly in control. Harris would have effortlessly cast charms and spells that would send Voldemort running.

  • @Kachukeland EXACTLY! What did Micheal do except stand around doing nothing and looking like Voldermort is about to win. The only reason dumbledore wins is becuase the Minstry shows up

  • @Foebane72 except for "DONT YOU HAVE STUDYING TO DO?" in phoenix.

  • @054martinm and various other lines that weren't delivered accurately. Off the top of my head (i haven't seen the movie in a while) I remember not liking the scene where Gambon escapes from being arrested.

Gambon: You think I'm gonna come quietly? Screw you! Screw ALL of you!! *flips them off and disappears*

I believe it was a bit different in the book...

  • @Foebane72 Micheal has never gotten Dumbledore right. Yes Richard would have you must remember he was dying on his feet in the Chamber of Secrets. You ever watch the Count of Minte Cristo? Richard was perfect as a sword wielding man.

  • You've said what we're thinking, but I seriously think you have gone way too gay with it. Otherwise, this would have been good.

  • You've said what we're thinking, but I seriously think you have gone way too gay with it. Otherwise this would have been good.

  • @054martinm DRACOYOUBETTERSTOPPOINTINGTHATGODDAMNWANDATMEYOULITTLEBITCH,I'LLSLAPTHESHITOUTTAYOU!!!

  • Gambon was too angry and crazy he was competely OTT and the wrong actor to play him he dosent take it seriously at all he even said to Tom felton keep messing up your lines i get paid another week which shows he dosent rily care weather he scrwes the films over or not Richard harris was a great and true Dumbeldore its a shame he didnt make it for all 6th films he played him how hes suppose to be played and toke its seriously gambon also great actor but dosent fit this part

  • Yes I did think Richard Harris was a better dumbledore because he was a kind person and rarely shouted and yes micheal gambon always looked shaggy and angry etc. But because i have gotten used to micheal gambon as dumbledore i find he is OK but my vote still goes to richard harris.

I was so sad to hear that he had passed away as i was only little when i went to watch the prisioner of askaban and i was looking forward to him being in the next film and when i saw dumbledore i knew this wasn't him

  • you must not forget that he must follow the script and stuff he doesn't shose his own clothes

  • LOL great video

i liked the Arnold Schwazzeneger part (is that how u spell his last name?)

imagine after he dies he says "Harry POTTAA!! ILL BE BAACKK!!"

  • @boygenius28 Arnold Schwarzenegger

    that's a great quote!

  • Dumbledore is a sex machine

  • OH MY GOD, this is easily the greatest thing I've ever seen ever.

  • Very funny, I haven't laughed so hard in awhile. =D

  • @jessejohndavid : Well true, but keep in mind that type of magic requires a huge amount of concentration. Yes, Richard Harris was a very good Dumbledore, but I think the wiry beard situation could've been a supplementary reason. At least it appears cleaner in HBP, where I think Micheal Gambon did a phonomaonal job.

  • lmao

  • the music in this is hilarious

  • guess what! the actor doesn't choose costuming, and his acting could be because of the way the script was written, i liked the old dumbledore's looks better, but it isn't michael gambon's fault.

  • I agree

  • I think they tried to make Gambon's Dumbledore too much like Ian Mckellen's Gandalf, in appearance and personality. Giving him a shaggy grey beard and giving him a short temper although he is kind at heart. They fail miserably at this, because Ian Mckellen's Gandalf was intimidating when angry, but also warm and loving when nice. Gambon's dumbledore wasn't intimidating at all when angry, he was laughable, and in the few moments he was nice he tried too hard and didn't seem genuine. FAIL.

  • i'm not sure if it is Michael Gambon's personality, or if it is what the newer books said. Dumbledore was not alway kind in those books. take, for example, the goblet of fire when dumbledore catches the moody imposter. even look in the book, dumbledore was not described as forgiving and caring to barty crouch jr. then...

  • @rupp099 Very true, however he NEVER raised his voice. It was a cold fury behind his eyes. That's it!! Michael Gambon never seems relaxed, except in POA and HBP, he is always flailing around. He is always shouting. Richard Harris had a calm but firm tone. When he shouts "SILENCE!" in the first film, it was perfect, he was authoritive but not out of control. Michael Gambon was squinting like crazy just looking at the Goblet of Fire.
