Hey guys, we've been playing a cover of this song recently and are about to record it as part of an EP we are releasing, there is a video of a live version on our channel if you feel like checking it out. x
Please check out secession-touch, new order-your silent face, and sparks-armies of the night.......................80's at its best!!!! hands down, and of course what you are hearing
One of the greatest electronic songs of the 80's, levels equal with a Forest (the Cure), Blue Monday (New Order) and Theme for great cities (Simple Minds).
@apataye Of course there was a year zero. People just didn't start counting from that year until christianity had conquered Europe. That, however, is not even the biggest fallacy you state: there is no defined start of a decade. A decade is just a period of ten years.
@apataye of course there was a year zero. People just didn't start counting from that year until christianity had conquered Europe. That, however, is not even the biggest fallacy you state: there is no defined start of a decade. A decade is just a period of ten years.
I don´t wanna spoil anyone´s idea of historical chronology, but I REMIND YOU THAT -ACTUALLY- THIS IS NOT 80´S MUSIC. The 70´s decade goes from 1971 to the 31st of december of 1980, and -anyway- Visage began recording before 1979, So we should call this "late 70´s/ early 80´s sound", to be accurate.BTW Very nice tune, that´s for sure!!
@DelBluenose80 No man, I´m not kidding. It´s not a matter of what I SAY, but of ACTUAL historical chronology. Let´s see... a DECADE is a period of 10 years, right? Since there never was a "YEAR ZERO", the decades go from YEAR 1 to year 10; from year 11 to year 20; freom year 21 to year 30; and so on... if you follow that logic (which i didn´t invent, but it´s just the way we -western world- do it) you´ll see: the 70´s lasted from 1971 to 1980, both included. THAT´S HOW IT IS.
@apataye how the fuck can 70's music be classed up to 31december 1980??? Let me remind you that 70's decade spans from 1970 - 1979! Count em thats 10 years of the 70's.
I'm quite sure your the only person I've ever had to explain that to!
So sorry, but u are WRONG!! Didn´t u read my comment? or better, DID U UNDERSTAND A WORD OF IT? U´d b right if there was a YEAR ZERO, but there IS NOT, and there´s nothing we can do to help it!!! Except -of course- turning back the hands of time & change completely the way we -occidentals- measured the history. If u don´t agree, DON´T TELL ME. Instead,go try & convince those who -centuries ago- decided to count the years from CHRIST´s BIRTH
@apataye hahaha you cannot grasp the concept can you!!! Your right in that the recorded calender decades are year 1 - 10, 11 - 20 and so on, but you CANNOT bring this into play to describe a decade that is named after the years in which it took place i.e 1970 - 1979 = The 70's. Go look up tunes released in the 70's and I can guarantee you will NOT see anything that was released in 19 fuckin 80 hahaha!!!
I'm looking for a song very, very, very similar to this one for ages! It's a little calmer than this one, and there's a very calm moment where a lady is speaking French. If you are a true 80's expert, and you know what song I mean, please mail me!
@WTU208 Thanks for the answer, but it's not the song I'm looking for. I give up now, I've been looking for hours to find a song like Fade to Grey. I listened to all songs visage ever made (also the crappy ones), to all songs from Jona Lewie, ...
I know one day I'll hear it on the radio again, and then I'll look it up with the playlists or with the music recognition-thing from my cellphone. Works great!
The Gene Hunt era, or as that thick Labour party tried to make fun of it by labelling David Cameron akin to Gene Hunt........vote Cameron and its like going back to the 80's........Well in my opinion the music, the people, the fashion and the beer were the best in the 80's..........fuck Labour...."Fire up the quattro.....its time for change"
The New Romantic Era was to short lived and a comeback for the likes of Steve Strange and Visage would be great. This song and video was so ahead of its time.
@MrKillswitch88 Agreed with you. I mean, me being a teenager you may think I'm full of shit.. But I do 100% agree with you. And this song kicks so much ass! I love it xD!
Why the hell do people these days want Westlife and Il Divo? How can anyone be excited by them after watching Visage? Can't understand why people these days are so easily entertained by such boring, banal crap which is heavily marketed at us women in such a patronising all-inclusive way. I say bollocks! I watch and listen to what I want to!

LOL, so funny to read little comments by little people who are younger than some of the t-shirts I own. If you never went to the blitz don't waste your time xx
It is kinda good I guess - is after all the song that made me like the band - but Hell the french stuff in it is so friggin' cheesy! Really prefer Moon Over Moscow (from the same CD).
