Alexander doing poorly didn't have anything to do with the portrayal of bisexuality. It had to do with bad story telling, bad acting, and bad battle scenes. It was a mess in all areas. Stone just can't get over it.

Homophobia on the rise? Do you realize shortly after your Alexander release the gigantic success of Brokeback Mountain came up? America is not going into that direction: Sexual openness is on the rise. Atheism is on the rise. Skepticism about government and corporate world is on the rise, etc.
Just because your film was unfairly attacked doesn't mean you can absolutize the whole landscape in that way. I feel the same paranoia you point out to the the Right wing in your own perception.
all quiet on the front of the best movie of the First World War the iron cross movie the best World War II platoon the best film about the Vietnam War
@TRUEMAN8919 Hi. Thought I'd let you know, they have these new things on your keyboard now: One is called punctuation and the other is the shift key. Thought I'd let you know.
@lanser87 in what way does oliver stone explain it better?,with his film wich shows only %1 of Alexanders life?.with he's choice of charicter as collin feral to potray the greatest warior of all time?.you got to be kidding.i liked the movie as well, but no way was it a better explanaiton of the greatest story ever told.
Bush sent soldiers including me to a phony war, within the wrong country, Pakistan was the right country to go into but, Iraq and Afghanistan are the wars of choice. Bush was also into reinstating the Assault Weapons Ban, which is BS, thankfully he was to incompetent to do it. Overall as a Libertarian, Oliver Stone puts Bill O'Reillys to shame, Olbermans in perspective of a tool like a lobbyist.
Oliver continue to bless us with your wonderful, inspirational films.

He fails to realize, that people don't misunderstand the ways of the ancients.
Just terribly made, acted and just bad bad bad, I can't recall how many times I rolled my eyes at the dialogue, and scenes and the representation of Alexander's character.
i have my doubts about "W", not so much about it's quality but more about it's timing and the reactions of American audiences to it. i also have, however, much faith in oliver stone, one of the most important and talented filmmakers of our time.
Well, one reason why it might be seen as strange is that it's too soon for all the facts to come out. In an interview regarding 'Nixon', Stone said he felt that by that time all the memos and other information had come out, that would be coming out. In the case of Bush, there is likely much we will not know for quite some years about the behind the scenes goings on.

No, I'm saying Oliver Stones film fell short of history.
Stone always tends to explain his films beautifully but when you see them they aren't exactly on the epic grand scale Stone portrays.

I agree. It is very strange to make a film about the life of a President that is still in office.
