The reason organic is important is that we are bombarded with chemicals everyday. We have like 75% of the people who are coming down with cancer and living half as long as they could otherwise. Organic should use compost and no chemicals.
Technically speaking, "organic" refers to molecules with the element carbon in them. Water (H2O) doesn't have carbon in it. So technically, water is not organic. So if you are watering your plants, technically you're not organic gardening lol. Yeah, the word organic is tossed around to much.
Does anyone use Growbags (Combination of coco peat and/or husk chips) to grow Tomato's? Growbags are 100% natural and environmentally sustainable, used widely in the industry due to the benefits of the product for Tomato growing...
Help protect our environment, use environmentally friendly products.
It is sad to see how comfortable ppl are with rudeness. This was not a helpful video, but the comments were even less.
This woman was willing to give of her time to help. Her method needs improvement. Instead of insulting her, why don't ppl come up with helpful suggestions.
I thought Expert Village was for Experts to share there knowledge with everyone, NOT for bored housewives who have not a clue what there doing, if I see another poor video like this on expert village I will not be visiting again. Whoever allowed this video from expert village should be sacked.
I'm sorry but I never herd you mention even ONE organic tip at all, you just waffled on about what was planted in your so called organic garden. You need to do some prompting cards before hand then you will not make your self look so silly.
Still dont know what an organic garden is. Now you said what to do around it but forgot to say the most important what makes a fruit or vegetable called " organic" soil? water? filtered? what soil? how do you know there are no pesticides? chlorine in water/ organic means? i did not hear it at all. Can you explain? thanks a lot
What motivates these people to go out of their way & take time to type such offensive & insulting comments to ordinary folk who are quite simply makeing a video of their interests & efforts ? Naive, immature, socially inept, childish, jealous, arrogant ?? What is it eh ?? & all from your own american people. A word of advise from the UK - - -GROW-UP
whoa, dudes, we're creating a really inorganic energy with our comments. Remember the sun shines on all our shoulders and the moonbeams guide all our dreams. We are all coddled in the bosom of mother earth, you know, Gaia. We're her little peas in a really fucking big organic garden.
Im so sick of the word "organic" why does everybody have to dwell on the fact that something is "organic" I have a garden and i dont go around telling everybody its organic like a tree hugger hippie. my poo is organic, my dog is organic, my chair is organic, my computer is organic, my house is organic, Shut UP!
oh my god thank you. i have a growing contempt for places like whole foods and outpost that use organic as a marketing scam,.. and those stupid people who buy into that shit
Organic has become a scam, but the status quo of harmful chemicals appearing in every cleaning supply and pesticides and hormones in food was always a scam, and is a bigger scam, because too few people even stop to think about what they are putting in their bodies. I prefer hopeless, nauseating yuppies to people who ignore the problem any day.
not sure what you mean regards prefereing nauseating yuppies to people who ignore the problem. Could you throw some light on your comment please. I'm always willing to be educated.
Organic food that is grown without pesticides is better for the environment, for example. Posters I responded to are annoyed by others who are obsessed with organic food and are using that to unfairly discount the merits of the important movement to make things organic.
@SpringHeeledJack330 i am not a tree hugger and I eat organic because I know it is not gmo and that organic is safer and healthier than conventional methods
Her garden IS lovely, but it's posted as a "how to" video, which it clearly is not after watching it. In fact, I'm finding very little substance to any of the "Expert Village" videos I've watched.
Is there no criteria to list under "Expert Village?"
i agree. it seems that somehow idiots are randomly stumbling on this video, getting confused and doing what comes naturally to them - being offensive.
Would you please advise me how to grow bell peppers and eggplants correctly.
My Bell pepper plants grown about 30 inches with many leaves but do not produce any fruit (pepper) the flowers blossom then fail off some of the leaves now have many small brown dots I just clipped off those leaves with a scissor. My eggplants flowers also blossom dried out and fall off and make no fruits. Would you advise me: what did I do wrong and what should I do so those plants will produce many fruits. Thanks.
Rude impatient type people need to get some manners. You don't have the patience for gardening anyway why are you wasting your time here being rude and obnoxious? Go back to your gameboy and leave the grownups to something productive.
The hardware cloth (metal grid) is convenient for staking vegetables but expensive. I use bamboo that I can cut for free in the country and split. It is also durable and can be saved and reused from year to year.
I have never made a garden before. I am wanting to grow a vegetable garden. I just wish I had thought to ask my grandparents when they were still around. They grew or raised everything they ate. I now have some land and want to follow in their footsteps. Do you have some advice for me please.
advice? yep, study a lot. read books. get your soil in good shape, fertilise with green crops that you can turn back into the soil.Know your crop groups and rotate crops. There's a huge ammount to learn, so the best advice is probably, start small. Don't lose heart, it's a fantastic interest wih huge rewards,,,,,,you would not believe the flavour of sweetcorn that's put straight into he cooking pot from the plant-immediately. Good luck to you
Gee how I relate to your comments! My Grandad was an organic gardener and an early member of Henry Doubleday. I only switched into what he was saying about 6 months before he died, back in 83. I've never stopped thinking about him since. Even dream about him.

All of that- seeds, soil, fertilizer all needs to be organic to be an organic garden.
tylertyler82 2 years ago
yea this video is shit.. :)
organic means:
1) mix the soil with 40% organic compost
2) don't use all this shit stuff out there that say "make your fruit bigger" or something like this :)
3) the water is the fruit, use drinkable water and you will have good fruits :)

Indeterminate varieties of tomatoes can reach 14 feet in height.
There are essentially two kinds. Determinate and Indeterminate. Your seed packet will tell you which you have.
Determinates grow to a certain height, bear fruit and they are done. Indeterminates keep growing and bearing fruit until they are killed.
Determinates were bred for machine harvesting.
