  • Wow this video, so deceitful. 1 star.

I could say again, again, why this is so misleading but I feel that it would fall on deaf ears. Just go to the reason foundation's youtube channel when it comes to economics.

And I like to know where this man studied logic. Pulling ad hominem attacks will get you nowhere, state why you believe what you believe and back it up, don't call people dummies.

    Geez.

And fear-mongering isn't bad if they state the facts.

  • Hi yoshi3329-thanks for watching. I must disagree with you on a few points. telling people that end of life counseling (included in one the proposals) will est. death panels IS fear mongering and a lie. Insurance companies have always been the death panels because ithey decide who lives or dies when they decide to not cover a paying client when it affects their bottom line. How is that not logical? I respecfully would like to know how I am being decietful.

  • The facts are well known that tens of thousands of people die each year because they have no or inadequate health insurance coverage. I think you missed the point of the piece. My point was that the nation got distracted from the issues with the birther nonsense, death panels and other things when we should have been having an honest discussion. I assumeyou think our healthcare system is just fine the way it is?

    Thanks for watching...Pure Logic Host

  • I don't think our healthcare is fine, however, It's unconstitutional for the president to get involved in the private sect, (10th Amend), if Obama gets involved it will cost us billions/trillions of $, & reduce the standard of health care. If you studied Austrian economics you would have known that. Obviously your either a Keynesian or a socialist, either way, I'm not falling for it. Ya'll got us into this w/ over regulations and spending. It's time for the government to shrink not grow.

  • let's just agree to disagree.

  • yoshi3329- Is it unconstitutional for the Pres. to get involved in the private sector? If it means he and/orthe gov. protects the public from fraud, abuse, and disregard then the answer is yes. Respectfully, you sound like one of those persons who would've been against child labor laws, or the FDA, or the min. wage. Do you honestly think big business would play by the rules if there weren't rules in place? There is a balance between too much gov. invovlement & letting the priv. sect. run wild...

  • The current economic crisis is the direct result of too much deregulation. Where do you get that too much regulation is the problem? We have 5 companies that own everything now because of deregulation. Now its too hard for independent companies to operate because of this. In that instance regulation would've helped. Everything is case specific. Sometimes gov needs to intervene and other times it doesn't. FYI, we are already a soc. country. Pub. School, the fire dept., social security...

  • ...a tons of other things are socialist in nature. I guess we should turn over all of those things to the private sector. Remember when the republicans wanted invest social security into the market. How much money would've been lost then?I'm not right on all things, but your assertions aren't fool proof either. Between us, what's best lies in the middle. Thanks for a spirited debate. Take care. Anthony McLemore/Pure Logic Host.

  • America was founded on the economic principles of the "free enterprise" system. An individual is free to operate his business under the law without government intervention and regulation. The Government MUST safe-guard it citizen from harm, outside in in.

However, Government makes monopolies and make sure that they stay around with regulations, and stimulus packages. I see you've never studies economics. Same with schools, if government wasn't involved we could have school choice

  • dang, I added more but apparently it didn't come though, oh well. In short, government creat monopolies, we shouldn't have to pay for other people's children schooling, it's wrong, I know people have to pay public schools even if they home school.

The State can fund police and fire department however the public sector has always done better, I wish I could give you the link but no go with youtube.

Lastly, the constitution doesn't give the federal government the right to give social security

  • obama is a liar name 1 thing he has done so far besides spending the fuck outta our money.btw all of which has went to lobbyist, and his pals"btw he was totally against this so he said in his speaches then turns around and does it. he is a huge fail for this country.and you will soon see how great he really is.your so called master you gave your life over to.

  • The only problem with Healthcare IS the cost. Cellular phone service used to be expensive, but competition has made it more affordable, so why would competition not fix the Healthcare COST problem. Plus, if the Federal Government provides Healthcare like they deliver mail, you could keep both. Thanks

  • The other problem with Heathcare is the system of health insurance. The US system has WAY TOO MANY MIDDLE MEN involved! What makes up these middle men? The US Government is part of it, along with their lobbies and corporate feeders. It's ridiculous! Get rid of the middle men, that will make health insurance more affordable. Affordability equals competition, competition equals free market, free market equals quality care. It's a win win situation. Just wonder why this hasn't been looked into?

  • The US Constitution authorizes the Federal Government to insure domestic tranquility and establish justice, two institutions that would not be possible without Local or Federal Law Enforcement. There is no provision for Health Care, so your analogy is flawed. Healthcare costs are increasing because of Federal restrictions on State to State coverage, which have allowed companies to monopolize.

  • Well gee wilakers, black tree media, I sure am happy to watch completely unbiased political analysts tell me what is completely logical. You were so able to give each side credit, this could not push any agenda at all, could it?

After all, we must all support obama. He is logical. We must never listen to the comments of the doubters they are weak. They are not yet enlightened. We must all do as he says if we want to fix this totally broken shithole. The revolution is coming. Number 9. 96574621

  • trogdor13277-thanks for watching. I think u missed my point. The purpose of the piece was to say that the deliberately pushed misinformation (death panels), fear mongering (Obama=Hitler) doesn't help us figure away to solve the problem. The other is that people are working against their own interest following politicians, who have the best healthcare by the way, prey on uneducated/fearful people telling them reform is evil, when they are taking money from insurance companies. That's reality!

  • random guy I'm guessing is the show's host: Thanks for responding. I think u missed my point. The purpose of this piece was to say that deliberately pushed misinformation (our health care program is broken, sarah palin is retarded,) and fear mongering (if we don't reform, all poor people will die). That random interview clip had no point, since he wasn't a congressman. And the birth certificate issue is also not a stupid subject. How come you didn't prove it wrong, but dismissed it as nonsense?

  • Unless you are someone who has been outside the country or aloof knows the certificate has been shown over and over again. And besides, how does one fake the 2 newspaper announcements of his birth? trogdor132777 again, thanks for the conversation. Best Regards to you!

  • yes, Joe wilson was disrespectful, but he had an opinion that just got out. Aren't you tired of politicians being vague? The insurance companies do have dirty tactics, but what makes you think that the government won't do anything dirtier? We are already in trillions of dollars of debt, I don't think they would splurge on a health care system. Republicans weren't against child labor, where do you get your sources? Mind you it was started to fight slavery, which the democrats wanted to keep.

  • And I love how you wondered how one can be so intolerant as to censor everything they don't agree with, showing joe wilson as an example. He didn't want to censor, he wanted to voice anger. It was the congressmen and the liberal pundits that, by dismissing him as an idiot, censored him and his beliefs. and maybe universal health care isn't stupid. Maybe the people that oppose it know that such a costly service shouldn't be left to a government in debt.

  • Or doctors who bust their ass with long hours of work and frequent schooling who didn't want to have spent years in college and med school just to have their incomes cut dramatically. Or people that just want America to still be number one in medical research. You can't just assume that everything republican is a lie. You say that the stupid people follow them and are told lies. Well, when was the last time you opposed something liberal? when was the last time any popular show did that?

  • trogdor132777- Not to start an email war, but you again missed my point. Where do I start. In regards to Joe Wilson's outburts. No congress person has EVER shown that level of disrespect to a president in a joint session. This comes from a party constantly labled people as unpatriotic if they spoke out against Bush's Iraq war (by the we way I'm an independent who like John McCain in '98). As far as insurance reform is concerned, I've been and people I know have been jerked around by....

  • I do not support Iraq, i think that all it is is a plan to Americanize a middle eastern country so we can have a place to help us in afghanistan that would be willing. Faking two birth certificate showingare nothing with all the conspiracies people blame bush about what with blowing up the world trade center and whatnot. And minimum wage is only making countries outsource more ow-income jobs where they could be done a heck cheaper.

I find it arrogant your show is called pure logic. your welcome

  • ...health insurance companies. Not to mention I know people who work in the insurance industry and the speak of the dirty tactics. It isn't just about poor people. I sense disdain and or lack of concern for "poor people" from u. Too bad for those people who went bankrupt because their insurance companies didn't pay or those who've lost their jobs in this economy. It never ceases to amaze me that the party that is suppose to be for family values and moral has always been against such things as...

  • ...medicare, mimum wage, social security, child labor laws, ALL things that showed concern for the least of us or challenged big business. Again you missed my point. People should speak out, but many NOT all of those protesting are lacing their views with things that have nothing to do with issues and you know that! I heard no one complaining about the cost to future generations when we marched into Iraq. Anyone who knows history knows that you don't fight 2 front wars. The brith certficate?

  • Any logical person can understand that if you do not pay the person who is offering their services then they won't do their job. Therefore with this free health care system doctors have no reason to continue treatment because they would have to do it for free. I don't think that doctors who spent all that time in med school appreciate their lively hoods being taken away

  • medicare, medical, medicade and the vet hosp

    all gov run

you have no idea what you are talkin about

  • linkisgoth- Thanks for watching and commenting. I think you may have things confused. What is being proposed is government sponsored health insurance. Doctors would still get paid for their services because the public option is like any other insurance company. In other countries, the doctor still gets paid. The public option is a mechanism to keep the insurance industry in check by forcing them to compete with a more efficient and "fair" insurance company whose sole purpose is profits. -PL Host

  • pure logic is the best show on blacktree its a shame it doesn't get half the views very very good vid......peace

  • it is so sad that humans think we PHYSICALLY need money (pieces of paper with pictures of dead men on them) to live.

  • Yes, it is quite sad, isn't it? Especially when these stupid pieces of paper only provide us with food, shelter, beds, clothes, computers, refrigerators, microwaves, ovens, water, electricity, and other luxuries. So stupid, right?

  • lol alot of people don't understand what i mean when i say that but it's cool bro :) must sucked to be close minded and noncomprehensive

  • Yeah, ti must suck to be close minded and non comprehensive, good thing i don't know anyone who is like that :D

  • lol your funny....who would admit themselves to being that. No conflict though, let just agree to disagree my friend :)

  • The people with the money would love paying for police... Then they could point and laugh at the poor people when they can't afford to call the police when their home gets robbed

  • I thought poor people didn't get police protection anyway...

Seriously, we are screwed as long as there's no campaign finance reform, and who among our elected representatives will bite the hand that feeds them...

  • connberkshire - thanks for watching pure logic. I TOTALLY agree with you on campaign finance reform. It is a shame that the political process is held hostage by special interests. In the future, I would like to do and episode on this subject. Thanks!

  • suck up~how much did u get paid? hope u got alot 4 ur soul!!!

  • A+++

  • fight socialism!!! abolish medicare! abolish taxpaid police departments! fire departments! postoffice! public schools!
