  • 1:00 - Using old people to market candy to kids was an interesting strategy.

  • I'm pretty sure at 7:52 they said you could smoke fruit roll-ups.

  • hahaha the kid trying to sound like Mr. Miyagi from Karate Kid was hilarious!

  • the tootsie pop commercial was actually made in the 70s, but it ran for so many years that it ran in the 80s longer than the 70s

  • 9:05 Assuming that clown is supposed to represent McDonalds, who's the girl he's with supposed to represent? Burger King? Maybe that's what their uniforms looked like back then.

  • Comment removed

  • i love watching stuff from the 80's

  • things related to older times ,revive those old feeling again

  • You know after watching a few of these 80's commercial comps. If advertising to children is so bad why was childhood obesity as bad then as it is now. You don't hardly ever see commercials like these aimed at kids any more. The truth is parents need to make their kids put down the electronics and go out side and play.

  • @jmoroni78 SO TRUE.

  • That was the most freakin emotional Micky D's commercial i have ever seen :') 4:02

  • @glitteraddict44 Agreed :D

  • 0:27 "Umm...its from Tootsie Roll"

  • up.down.up.down.left.right.left.right.a.b.start .should get you back to 1986

  • M.I.T. did a study and it took 973 licks to get to center on tootsie pop

  • Locksmithite, it didn't have to come out in the 80's... just be played a lot in the 80's. And that tootsie roll commercial was.

  • ROFL when i heard and had the flashback of the A&W trumpet!

  • "WHERE'S THE BEEF!?"

  • The Tootsie Roll commercial is way before the 80's. It came out in 1970.

  • I think I would sell my soul right now, on the spot, for a Playdough fun factory. And I can't tell you how many times I have had a craving for A&W rootbeer after wrestling alligators. Simon says, "Don't do crack."

  • i just realized how much old people was the subject of comedy for so many commercials and tv shows... thumbs up if you miss the 80's... the decade of making fun of old people!

  • OMG what ever happened to Bonkers? That was cool candy

  • @TheHarleygirl09

The Watermelon was the best!!! Bonkers made a short revival back in 2000. When I worked at the Arcade, we used to get shipments of the new Bonkers. That was the last time I had that. =( I miss them too!

  • @TheHarleygirl09 Probably the same thing that happened to "Chewels.. " :)

  • What in the world were we thinking back then

  • I better get to Burger King before October 14th :P

  • Awwwww I loved that McDonalds Christmas commercial! It always made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!

  • u know there some of them here that they could put on the air again hell just seeing thease makes me want to buy there products just by goin old school again

  • LMOA on the old lady driving commerical wendys commercial...

  • In 20 years time they'll be wondering why there were so many different, irritating adverts for selling the same thing - Insurance!

  • That was fun, thanks! That is Joaquin Phoenix in the Nintendo ad at 5:10, LOL!

  • That bitch looks like she hasn't had a good dump in years. The last thing she needs is beef.

  • It's a little strange that these commercials are still stuck in my subconscious somewhere. I remember every one of them.

  • Oh.. I see they used senior citizens back then to advertise their food.. Uh, yeah.. I can tell you right now that does not make me want to buy your product.

    It grosses me out.

  • @MelodyLuvr1

Well you have to excuse them, they actually respected the "aged" back then. They didn't assume they knew everything, and thought they could actually learn something from them..

and on top of that it just was funny.

  • @MelodyLuvr1

    Negroid

  • @backwardk Ouch.. that one really hurt.

  • @MelodyLuvr1 You will be old one day, and I hope a young brat (like yourself) is grossed out by you. This younger generation does not respect the elderly.

  • Thank you-I haven't seen "Where's the Beef" in years.

  • paus at 3:15

  • Whenever I see Ronald Mcdonald, I remember Michael Jackson.

  • Man things were so cool back then. Why is everything so shitty now?? The store I used to ride my bike to and play pac-man is now overrun with drug dealers and thugs. What happened???

  • @WATWUZAT its quite sad isnt it :-(

  • @WATWUZAT i agree w/ your comment completely. the 70's & 80's were the best, then things started going severly downhill in the 90's. read 2Tim.3:1-9 "but know this, that in the last days perilous times will come..." the perilous times Paul spoke of 2000 years ago have arrived

  • @WATWUZAT God has been removed from the equation. The carefree and nature that you see here has been replaced with cynicism and the turning of the back of countless traditions and morals that have been staples in our society for generations. What is promoted on TV to the coming generations is to embrace anarchic ways. I fear for what is to become.

  • @xXxThr33xXx Hail Satan!!!!! Asshole!

  • 07:32 Hated Fruit Roll-Ups they always stuck to my teeth.

  • I don't think there has ever been a better commercial made in this world then the "Where's the Beef" commercial. It still makes me laugh.

  • I would GLADLY give up cell phones and internet to live in the 80s.

  • I'm listening to Cher right now.. "If I could turn back time".

  • Wait! I remember seeing this commercial not to long ago(tootsie pop) in the early 2000's

  • 9:31 It's the poor man's Jefferson Starship!

  • McDonalds and mostly Burger King has got Wendy's beat with "Where's the beef." Wendy's got a flas square of nothin'! That was some false advertisement! They make toys look so much more fun in the 80's. But once you get 'em they were no fun.

  • some of these are creepy!

  • I could never figure out why being clobbered by an enormous piece of fruit made you laugh like an idiot.

  • @katrus yea you're right..... Simon was one of those games that looked cool, but really sucked. The cool way it looked got us to always pick it up time and time again though LOL

  • Did anyone really like playing Simon?

  • I just found out where the saying WHERES THE BEEF? came from. It made my day.

  • I don't remember the 80s (born in 85) but seems like the early 90s were pretty similar

  • Man I have forgotten about Bonkers candy! Wow takes me back!

  • Wow..I haven't thought about that Bonkers candy since I was a little boy...I also thought it was funny how they had the "Artificially Flavored" disclaimer on the screen. Now it's just a given that any candy you buy is going to be full of artificial crap!

  • Oh My Gosh! I miss the 80's!!!! Cheesiness and ALL!!! :D

  • @tgreer72 LOL. I agree. Your comment made me laugh non stop. Looking at this video made me realise just how cheesy and corny the 80s were. But I think the 80s were a better time in America.

  • Everything else in the world may change but dammit, the fast food stays exactly the same.

  • at around 1:50 that kid got owned.

  • owned!!

  • Is that kid in the tootsie pop commercial wearing clothes?? I think not...

  • I LOVED BONKERS! BRING EM BACK!!

  • What happened to Bonkers?

  • The Karate Kid gets kicked in the balls at 3:16. Focus Danielsahn.

  • Wheres the Beef !!! When I was a kid, that was so huge.

  • MY MOM WATCHED THIS

  • All of a sudden I'm sitting on the livingroom floor eating cereal watching Saturday morning cartoons, and just chillin' out :) you gotta love it.

  • The NINTENDO commercial... lol

  • dancing bears lol!!!!!!

  • way to go burger king, nice way to encourage to get kids fat

  • @lonestar2779: This was when obesity in America was /starting/ to become an issue, but keep in mind this was also before video games became a huge deal inside the home and parents were worried about what "happened" to their kids, if you catch my drift. Kids got outside and exercised more than they do today, so they burned more calories.
