Seriously, it´s not faster. The 540i is a great car and I love the V8 it has, but it isn´t a sports car but the M5 is. It is heavier and less powerfull with longer gear ratios...
Again, as I told even a 540i E34 can go faster than a 540i E39. The M5 E34 is a sports car tuned by Motorsport with 340hp. Despite it´s 20 years old, it still can go faster than most mothern cars on its class...
@N1K1yoyo Yes it will..... proud owner of a 98 (pre VANOS) 6speed and i beat a 350z, mustang gt and a few others that thought they could fuck with it. only cars i got the shit end of the stick from so far were a infiniti m56s and a friend of mines GTO
@7674Princess because it was a 5 speed auto. the difference between the manual 6 speed and the auto 5 speed is unbelievable. im sure that with both cars stock and a manual e39 540i will keep up and maybe even take the e34 m5

E39 540i M-Sport/6 is lighter and faster than E34-M5.
I agree with others. Run the test again with right E39
and use a male driver who is not a 12 year old girl.

@7674Princess why du you think e39 is slow? it has 290HP, m5 has more HP than stock coz of superprint exhaust system, at least about 355 ;)
I didn't have 100% traction during the 1-2 gear change coz there was some of sand and wheels spinned.

540i driver was a fag, car had auto trans, and m5 was tuned.
put a stock version of both cars out with manual trans and run test again.
