I am a black woman that has dated white men. White men have always been my preference. Not saying that I do not find other races attractive, I have dated other races.I think all races are beautiful. I also have to add... as a white women, I have actually had better experiences with black men myself. But I take that on an individual level. It's just my personal experience and the individuals that I have encountered. I don't take it to mean that all black men are that way or that I can't be with anyone else. Everyone is just a person to me, and you go with whoever gives you a good vibe. There is good and not-so-good in every group.

I'm a young African American girl and I've been raised most of my life around Caucasian Americans, and most of my friends have been white and Asian Americans. I don't treat whites or Asians any better than the blacks that i do encounter, because if you're civil and respectful i treat you the same, but i do make a conscious effort NOT to be in the company of stereotypes. You know the ones. Just be around people who make you comfortable, white, black, Jew, Asian, whatever.

Doesn't matter what the race is, Its down to upbringing and environment, I've been braught up to treat women with respect and be honest with them, never be violent towards them. However I know some guys who have been braught up to where they view women without respect where they cheat, lie and sometimes even hit women, so I don't see it as a racial thing. single parent environments also somtimes effects the guys upbringing.
The women I have found the most attractive are black women. I pay attention to everything ,not just my actual experiences with both BM and WM, but observations, the reported experiences of other BW, and social research. Turns out for instance, that when they marry, WM/BW have very successful unions, better than WW/WM in fact, and second only to AW/WM. I think the socialization of WM prepares them to be marriage material to a higher extent. I don't believe these abilities are inherent, but learned.

They need a therapist to help them figure out why they hate their own which means they surreptitiously hate themselves. Personally, I can't deal with anyone that hates themselves. I also have to add... as a white women, I have actually had better experiences with black men myself. But I take that on an individual level. It's just my personal experience and the individuals that I have encountered. I don't take it to mean that all black men are that way or that I can't be with anyone else. Everyone is just a person to me, and you go with whoever gives you a good vibe. There is good and not-so-good in every group.

I don't treat whites or Asians any better than the blacks that i do encounter, because if you're civil and respectful i treat you the same, but i do make a conscious effort NOT to be in the company of stereotypes. How is she an expert on this when she never dated out of her race? lol She did make some good points, though. Blacks do tend to think the grass is greaner on the other team. Also, black men and women do go into the relationship with a more positive attitude than when we date our own.

What irritates me about us Blacks is that we always claim the positive aspects of our culture but never own up to the negatives.
From my experience, white men DID treat me better. But the African men and Caribbeans also treated me better. This isn't about color or internalized racism. It's about culture and how folks are raised. Truth is, US Black men need to do better. And WE, as Black wm, need to stop making excuses for BS and raising sons who think their crap doesn't stink.

You're right...But I still think you should try Latino. True, there's a problem with everyone...all men. But all of my friends, myself, and other family members don't have any complaints other than...shoes by door etc. There probably are some good Black men out there I just haven't met any worth the time and the majority of my friends haven't either. And I do have one friend who's sister dates a white man and she's treated like royalty, but that's just one that I know of...

I pay attention to everything ,not just my actual experiences with both BM and WM, but observations, the reported experiences of other BW, and social research. Turns out for instance, that when they marry, WM/BW have very successful unions, better than WW/WM in fact, and second only to AW/WM. I think the socialization of WM prepares them to be marriage material to a higher extent. I don't believe these abilities are inherent, but learned.

I choose to be around those individuals who not only let me be myself but bring out my best self. As AA, I know we are super-sensitive when it comes to stereotyping because frankly our people normally get the short end of the stick in that realm. The problem is, in defending against unfair stereotypes, there's also the tendency to dismiss certain realities...

I have dated on both sides of the field. :P Currently my boyfriend is white. But I have dated white, black, asian, latin, south asian (yum) No matter what color you are, a man can be a jerk. Regardless of color. You can find a sensitive attentive black man, just like, supposedly a white man 'could be.' And also, I hate it when people say they prefer dating within a certain race. They need a therapist to help them figure out why they hate their own which means they surreptitiously hate themselves. Personally, I can't deal with anyone that hates themselves. I remember as a child growing up with media images of mainly white people and a few light-skinned blacks which could've made me insecure if it wasn't for my strong parents.
