after watching this, it sounded like Russell knew the mistakes and knew how to win, but still couldn't get himself to actually change and adapt, in order to win Heroes vs Villains. Ultimately, his own ego, which is the source of his greatest strength, is his downfall, like a snake eating its own tail and devouring itself.
Russell is probably the best player in Survivor history. He plays hard and makes alot of enemies, but he certainly makes the game interesting. To have Sandra beat him.......that's just as ridiculous as when Tina beat Colby.

When they all met for HvsV everyone was familiar with everyone else from previous seasons, except for Russell. Samoa hadn't aired yet, so no one knew just how sneaky and conniving Russell really is. Nah, the Galu jury wasn't jealous. If anything, they were light on him in the Final Tribal Council and Russell owes thanks to them for that surprising treatment.
As for the soon-to-be core group, however, I doubt they'll be as forgiving.
Big dog juries are NEVER known for rewarding meritocracy when it happens at their expense. Big Tom, Lex, Alicia, Ozzy and James know this.

@Sessyfan15 FYI, there are no rules about how a jury should and shouldn't vote. It's the player's obligation to make sure those votes go to them, one way or the other.
Believe it or not, the Samoa jury handled him rather gently. Just keep watching this season, I guarantee you'll have a whole lot to dissect there.
@jpad319 i never said there were any rules for how they voted. and who cares about how they "handled" him. the bottom line is that they gave it to someone who hid behind other people through out the whole damn game. instead of not acutally understanding the very basic structure of the game from a logical point of view, everyone saw it as a way to stick it back to Russell because they "lost the game" and couldn't lose gracefully.

And when it comes to Survivor, it's the opinions of those who've played with him for 39 straight days that count, not of those who are simply watching biased edits that make up .001% of what has happened.
@jpad319 listen i can agree that there might be things that aren't shown all the way through, but how exactly is something biased when the people who are actually there are being interviewed and they are actually saying what they are going to do. it's not like they're given individual scripts to read off of so that they can make fans for certain people on this show.

There's nothing in the rulebooks that says a jury has put their own grudges aside. They are free to reward or punish any style of play as THEY see fit.

I don't think he's the best player in Survivor history, though he was very good, and a super hustler. I would say that he has the biggest, in-your-face ego bar none. I think the best player in Survivor history was Brian from Thailand. He was low key from the get go, but he was the master manipulator. If you look at his audition tape, he was up front about his strategy and he pulled it off to actually win. No matter what people say about how great Russell was, he didn't win.
@PreacherRickie More to the point, Brian didn't have the benefit of hidden immunity to help him out. Put those two in the same season and Brian will wipe the ground with him.
He played an awesome game, he did the right things to throw them off their game. I am surprised someone hasn't done that strategy sooner. he could have been super sweet, play the exact same game, & win the jury over.
His game play didn't work. But finding hidden immunity idols on his own, the game is going to change I bet. I also wonder if the cast of Heroes vs Villains knows of Russell's game play? Or did they whisk him up right after he was done at Samoa?
I liked the game russell played. But in the end it is how you treat people. There has to be a balance in playing the gamebut at the same time keep in mind those you do wrong may come back to haunt you.
Russell did play the game better in some areas, but he could have played the exact same game but not treat people like they were a means to end.

He led Foa Foa to victory, in the merge Galu was 7 Strong wyl Foa Foa has only 4 plus shambo His bold moves & strategy destroyed Galu And they were bitter with him! how come? When they all met for HvsV everyone was familiar with everyone else from previous seasons, except for Russell. Samoa hadn't aired yet, so no one knew just how sneaky and conniving Russell really is. If they had all seen Russell in action I'm sure BR wouldn't have taken him so lightly, and would still be in the game. I just wish he could have lasted long enough to be on the jury. :(

Nah, the Galu jury wasn't jealous. If anything, they were light on him in the Final Tribal Council and Russell owes thanks to them for that surprising treatment.
As for the soon-to-be core group, however, I doubt they'll be as forgiving.
Big dog juries are NEVER known for rewarding meritocracy when it happens at their expense. Big Tom, Lex, Alicia, Ozzy and James know this.

Believe it or not, the Samoa jury handled him rather gently. Just keep watching this season, I guarantee you'll have a whole lot to dissect there.

@jpad319 i never said there were any rules for how they voted. and who cares about how they "handled" him. the bottom line is that they gave it to someone who hid behind other people through out the whole damn game. instead of not acutally understanding the very basic structure of the game from a logical point of view, everyone saw it as a way to stick it back to Russell because they "lost the game" and couldn't lose gracefully.

If you didn't like the results last season, I guarantee you'll hate the results NEXT season should Russell lose yet again. The Samoa jury will look like mature people compared to the next jury and Nat will look like Parvati compared to the next Russell Slayer.

He was very in-your-face about his conduct and his opinion of his play. I don't think he's the best player in Survivor history, though he was very good, and a super hustler. I would say that he has the biggest, in-your-face ego bar none. I think the best player in Survivor history was Brian from Thailand. He was low key from the get go, but he was the master manipulator. If you look at his audition tape, he was up front about his strategy and he pulled it off to actually win. No matter what people say about how great Russell was, he didn't win.

He makes an excellent point. The most aggressive and strategic players NEVER win. Example: Ken, Boston Rob, Jonny Fairplay (best lie ever on survivor lol), Lex, and of course Russell himself. Right before i saw this video i was thinking this exact concept. If you make it to the merge and your a nice guy/girl then you win. Unfortunately this takes out the idea of survival in survivor. I didn't support the way Natalie played at all, it was horrible. But you know what? She wasn't as big of a ass like Russel was(Sure he played a good game, but you can't piss people off like that, they wouldn't be so bitter if he played better).
