I don't know if you know this, but if you do, I'm not trying to offend you or anything, but this is also for the people who don't know; the people who have been making the anime series will be part of the live-action project. They're gonna be the producers and other stuff. They're not just gonna hand it over to hollywood. And Keanu's voice, in my opinion, is pretty close to the Japanese sub version. Not that I watch the sub version, I actually prefer the dub version more.

Yeah, I heard that rumour too and I would dearly love to see that done well.

Luckilly for Last Exile, I really don't see how they COULD mess it up all that badly. The main characters are actually pretty one dimensional and maleable to many interpretations and at it's core, it's not a lot more complicated than a group of people banding together to overthrow thier oppressors with some juicy steampunk airships thrown in for good measure.

But also, FUNI bailed out Last Exile. 'S all good now.

Never know, though. Mario Bros are pretty 1D and look at how THAT movie turned out. Same for MK Annihilation...and Street Fighter...and Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li.

Like you said, though, hopefully it would be good, so long as they keep it simple to archetypes like throwing off oppression.

Ah see the trouble with Mario and Street fighter is that if you just go by the games, you got enough story for about a 2 minute short and everything else has to be invented.

Last Exile has more than enough story, but also, there's a bunch of arcs that could either be cut or the movie could be joined with those already in the past.

It's too bad the last information about it is 4 years old though, or, maybe it isn't. Depends on your viewpoint I guess.
