There was no occupation then, but the attitude that Israel cannot exist was the same then as it is now. The ONLY reason there is occupation is because Israel had to punish palestinians for their aggression. And more importantly, Israel will end occupation simply for peace.

What I did is simply point to historical facts about the origins of this conflict: the imposition of a foreign population on a local one without their consent. As for the Hebron massacre, what I said is that it is a massacre in which Jews died, but it was a civilian riot that got out of hand, and many tried to stop it, not a pre-meditated act of ethnic cleansing...

You rationalized the hebron massacre but calling it a "civil riot" and tried to suggest that both sides suffered casualties - implying that palestinians were just as guilt as jews, while in fact it was a massacre of jews by palestinians. Your historical references are one-sided. You cannot possibly form a balanced view by selecting your facts.

Yes the massacre was in fact a riot, that's how every single account of it described it, there were no paramilitary forces or military forces in Palestine at the time. This doesn't justify it, and does not make it any less abhorrent, it's just a historical fact. Jews did their share of massacres too, most of them pre-meditated...

@ForgotMyName3 the point was that massacre, which was pre-meditated (false rumors deliberately spread by the leader of palestinians), started the cycle of violence. After this attack and multiple other attacks by arab militias, jewish defense forces were formed. And eventually, it did escalate to low-intensity conflict. The next esclation was also initiated by arabs when they invaded Israel to overthrow UN decision to form an indepndent state. These are facts and it is stupid to deny them.

@mrkv39 Actually the first incidence of violence was Nebi Musa and the 1921 the Jaffa riots, 47 Jews and 48 Arabs died. This was also long after Zionist settlers as early as the late 1800's abused the local peasant population (recorded by some early Jewish poets). The next escalation was a rebellion by the Arabs against the British because they wanted self-determination (1936 revolt), and after that when ORGANIZED Jewish militia began bombing civilian centers (e.g. King David hotel).

@ForgotMyName3 again more biased nonsense. But you are right in one respect. Hebron didin't start it. Wiki souce suggests it started with 1920 riot by arabs that involved attacks in jewish civilians. Nabi Musa riots. So no matter how look at it, the first round of violence was started by arabs. This in turn prompted formation of militias on both sides and reprisal attacks on both sides. It is iriduclous to suggest that jewish militia was organized but not arab.

The bottom line is that you cannot expect a colonial regime to begin mass population transfer unto a land which is not theirs with explicit intentions of taking over the land, and expect the local population to be welcoming...

The bottom line is different in my view - arabs in palestine had plenty of choices and if they were to just refrain from violence, they would have had the ENTIRE palestine and would have been a majority there. Instead they chose violence.. and lost.

Since 1948, virtually all arab states adopted the 3 Nos (No peace, no negotiation, no recongintion). So Israel has been a victim of arab illegal aggression from the start. Somewhere a long the way, the destroyed and humiliated arabs and crossed the line and occupied land that is not theirs. All of that is also fact.
