Thank You so much for this video. My son is 4 months and about to have this surgery on the 27 of this month and I am so scared I have alot of support but this really easied my heart and mind. I am so Happy all went well for your family.
i was blessed they thought that about my son at Rolla Hospital cause they did xrays on him sayin his closed up and took him to St louis Childrens there and they found nothing wrong they were all fine and open his head was right shape now hes a 4year old smarty i love childrens tyyyyy all so much
Our daughter was diagnosed with Cranio in the right coronal suture when she was a month and a half and underwent open surgery @ the Children's Hospital in Minneapolis when she was 3 months. She is now a year and doing great !! Its amazing what they can do these days. Its a rough surgery for sure !!
jmalo23, unfortunately for you that insurance did not cover the costs for the endoscopic surgery. We live in the Netherlands where insurance is never an issue (we are compulsorily insured). If my son would have been born this year instead of eight years ago, we would have been so happy with the endoscopcis surgery! The traditional 'open surgery' has left him with an ugly scar all across his head. I would like to advise all parents -if in any way possible financially- to choose the new technique
My son had the "traditional" surgery. We did this because the doctors said it was a "one and done" process versus the endoscopic surgery. Endoscopic surgery may require more than one "visit" and helmets were about $1200. We needed six helmets and they weren't covered by our insurance. Needless to say, our son had surgery is doing extremely well. We took him to Children's Hospital of Omaha, NE. Excellent, excellent, excellent. We also stayed at the Rainbow House, a true blessing.

My son was born with cranio as well and went through this surgery. He only went though it once. He is a very healthy 4 year old boy.
We were blessed by our surgeon Dr Stelnicki at Joe DiMaggio Children Hospital in Hollywood, FL.
