Hey, i got some roaches like 3-4days ago and from the time they got into their box they have been sitting in the exakt same place all the time it was just the first few mins that they was in on the food and now i they havent touch it, ( i sit up late at night and never hear them move around or anything so 1, why are they always at same place? 2.i got cat and dog food mixed but so far it dosnt look like they care about it. 3. are there any good site to get water crystals or what they are called.

i have heard that roaches can live up to 2years in a house after they get out of the box, maby isnt like that with all kinds. And some say roaches can climb plastic / glas etc but is that depending on what kind of roach and also is it good to mix food like dog and fish food to give them ( have heard that chicken food is best but it sounds damn wierd ) started mine today and gonna get a bigger box in few hours, do they like dark areas or medium?

i actually expiriment with one of my Dubia colonies, and when i set them up, i put 1/4 inch of meal worm frass, and they did amazingly, the babies grew up a lot faster

you may want to try using sandpaper [ one of the rougher grades ] and rough down a plastic bowl or container you use for food\watercyrstals this way it will make the surface of it rough enough for the roaches to climb on i do this with my discoids and i can't take credit for this idea since i learned this from aaron pauling [ great guy ] but just something you may want to try sometime

Just whatever the cheapest kind that store has...no idea of a brand name...if it's good for your cat - it's bad for your roaches and T's. (the cheaper stuff is low on calcium, which is good).

My T room is a sealed dedicated room with 4 thermostats, 4 hydrometers...and a dedicated heater/humidifier for that room....so I can have it at 70-100 degree with a push of a button. Have you tried heatlamps??

I payed too much for roach food on a couple occasions. I got a 24 oz. jar of Total bites; which is basically liquid gells that smell like sour apple airheads, for $15. Never agian. Got them at a reptile expo. I never remove the roach crap. There are just too many babies hiding in it + Im sure it has nutritional value; if you're a roach. lol Roaches all the way. I stopped feeding crickets over 2 years ago. They suck.

lobster roaches are alot smaller. they only get to about 3-4cm, which is roughly half the size of what rob has on this vid, false death heads. lobster roaches climb though, so u definitely need a lid. i also use a line of vaseline at the top of my tank, and havent had one escape yet. they are very quick breeders, just stick a heat mat underneath their box and u will get loads. i started off with 300 and have over 2000 now in the time of about 6 months mab? very good feeders, my T's love them.

Yeah i only got 10 in tub and there going down. Only the king baboon has eat them so far. cobalt is to small for them. Not sure why my massive salmon pink dident eat one mabe shes going to moult. :-)

Be funny if that different roach managed to breed with your many other roaches. This is probably my mom's worst nightmare, right there! Haha! So, why don't roaches get water dishes? I thought roaches were really, really good swimmers. Do you use dry cat food? My mini doberman munched on a large superworm I'd dropped once. Nastiest crunch I've ever heard! the eggsac for a roach is called an ootheca(pronounced oo-thee-cuh). the female holds it in until the babies hatch. other roaches lay the ootheca and leave it.
