  • @bettyskitchen this is the first time I've commented on a video and commenting back so I hope I did the beginning right. Anyway I made the soup today and just wanted to say it's the best soup I've had so far!! And plenty of leftovers for tomorrow :) Thanks for your help and hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

  • Hi Betty, I'm planning on making this soup today but I only have about 15 maybe 20 oz of chunky sauce left. I was wondering if I could add a can of whole tomatoes and if it would taste okay. Or if you have another substitute suggestion? Thank you so much, I'm looking forward to making this soup!!

    -Brittney

  • @rockaholicgurl89 Hi Brittney!

Yes, the can of whole tomatoes will do fine in this soup.

  • This is really great! My grandmother challenged me to try to make soup like she did recently, and I didn't know where to start. I found your video and gave it a shot and the soup was delicious! Thank you!

  • MMMM! i love spicy! This looks delicious but do u by any change have a vegetarian spicy soup recipe?

  • @audreyscomputer I have black bean soup, white bean soup, gazpacho, and other soups that are vegetarian (or can be made vegetarian by omitting an ingredient). I also have a great vegetarian chili.

    --Betty :)

  • Thanks for the recipe! I substitute some ingredients, but I absolutely love those Goldfish crackers with it. lol.

  • @DJLunasf Thanks for your great feedback! The goldfish crackers sound good with this soup!

  • @balletdancer247 I've been looking for a dessert recipe for you, but have not been able to come up with a cake-type dessert without eggs and nuts. Here is a cookie recipe that you might like:

    --Betty :)

  • wow... too hot to make this now. haha!

  • @itsageoffrushthing Hello! You must live near me if it's too hot to make this now. I had posted also that it was 97 degrees here when Betty posted this great soup. I wanted to make this so bad, but it was just too hot here. I put making the soup of b/c of the weather. Today it's 80'ish degrees and I'm gonna make it today. I know...97 degrees in November. Unreal. Where do you live? I live in Southern California (by the beach) strange weather for the beach area in Calif.Where U at?

  • @ohpineapples hehe a little bit further away... Australia :D Hence it's Spring here - but almost Summer in a few weeks, so it's getting pretty warm!

  • I'm going to try this over the weekend, it looks great - thanks.

  • this looks so delicious i am drooling right now! i thnk ill make this saturday, i want to make this tomorrow but its a religious day for us so we cant eat meat :(

  • Betty, did you use the chopper on the celery to?

  • @Perdnee No, I chopped the celery with a knife. The electric chopper tends to make celery mushy.

    --Betty :)

  • I'm going to make this tomorrow. Going to use two cans of El Pato sauce instead of the peppers and tomato sauce, and going to minus the corn and add kidney beans. Thanks so much for all the great ideas!! I think I'm in LOVE!!! with your cooking that is...

  • That soup looks really good, but im not too sure about the spagetti sauce. I've tried a lot of different brands of spaghetti sauce, and they all are pretty sweet. Most have over a gram of sugar per tablespoon of sauce. It definately looks worth trying though.

  • that looks good

  • I REALLY want to make this, but I don't think we have any ground beef here.. :(

betty you always make me so hungry!!!

hope you're doing well as always

  • Making it... Now!!! Thanks Betty, looks delicious.

  • If you're not going to drain the meat you can just brown the meat & vegetables in the soup pot and then you don't have to was a skillet.

  • love this and love your glass :)!~

  • Well done Betty.

  • Betty, have I mentioned how much I love you?! You and your recipes are amazing :)

  • @MrsMSG79

I think she uses it because it might be the "power boost" burner. That is how mine is so i'm just guessing that is why.. Oh lol hey its you!! I Don't you just like Betty's recipes!! She has some really great ones!

  • omg thank you im so gonna make this weekend !!

  • mmmmmmmmmmm...............i think i will make this. i love soup. and lollipops

  • I just made this soup for lunch and it's delicious! Thanks for the recipe.

  • @Starrlabb Thanks for the quick and great feedback! I really appreciate it!

    --Betty :)

  • I love your combination of white and green you wearing today. You look so nice, especially the fit with your ring and necklace in green. The soup looks delicious, too. :)

  • great looking dish! Could I use BBQ instead of ground beef and if so which one would you recommend? pulled pork, brisket, or rib meat? which brings me to another question do you have a BBQ soup/stew recipe? another great video, thanks for sharing!

  • @JimboJitsu Hi Jimbo! Yes, I think you could use BBQ instead of the ground beef--maybe pulled pork. I would want the flavor of the BBQ to go well with the other ingredients. For example a sweet barbecue flavor would not be as good as a spicy flavor. Have a great day!

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen Hi Betty! Thanks, that is great news! I can do pulled pork without any sauce at all, lots of good smokey flavor! I think maybe the Chipotle dry rub for the pulled pork would give it a bit of a kick in the spicy flavor direction, what do you think? wOOt! I been trying to figure out a BBQ soup recipe, thanks a lot!

  • @JimboJitsu The chipotle rub sounds delicious!

    --Betty :)

  • Looks yummy Betty, I love adding Mrs Dash's seasonings to everything and think the extra spicy would be nice to this.

  • Oh.. by the way, that looks wonderful.

  • I like to save time and money by making this type soup in large batches when I come across a sale on the ingredients. Then I freeze several meal size portions for later use.

  • @vlvtvc I do that as well and at a later date I think all the ingredients tend to marinate together and it actually tastes better.

  • Oh goodness !! I will be making that really soon that's for sure! Everything that went in it I love! I might even stop at the store tonight after work and get what I need to make that. Your right about winter coming and soup being so good to eat. I wish I could make it tonight, but it's 97 degrees where I live today. Yep, 97 degrees in South. California and I'm by the beach. I sure hope it's cooler in the next few days b/c I will be making that for sure! Thanks Betty! Your great!

  • This looks good! It looks a lot like my moms Vegetable soup, but instead of Ground Beef she uses Beef Roast. :)

  • Yummy soup! I must try this soon :)

  • Thank you Betty -- this looks really delicious. I'll have to try this with some ground turkey and chicken stock as you mentioned. Might also add some potato and definitely some extra green chilies =D

  • This looks lovely Betty! I'ma have to cook this very soon!!!

  • Looks so good ,especially for these cold winter nights in Canada lol tks for sharing !

  • My mom always made vegetable beef soup and I make it now. I add lots of chopped potatoes to mine because I love potatoes with just about everything :)

I made a video a couple of weeks ago showing how I make my Olive Garden style potato soup...it's my favorite soup of all time!

  • I love this recipe, the soup looks delicious. It's easy and the ingredients are not hard to get =)

  • great recipe,i'll be trying this tonight!!

  • Making this tonight now! I love when I dunno what to make for dinner, I always turn to you and can find something :)

  • Damn this looks good! Could you use ground chicken and chicken broth instead?

  • @clusterfak Yes, you may substitute ground chicken or turkey and use chicken broth. Good idea!

    --Betty :)

  • I was missing your outfits. Great style of wearing your blouse!

  • great!

  • oh I love this type of soup!! My school used to make this alot, except it wasn't spicy!!! But I bet it's good with the spices!! Just has some great chicken soup not to long ago!!!

  • Perfect for this time of year!! Looks great!!
