The 1st remake was great but he didn't play the music enough in the movie and that drowning scene being so graphic destroyed what good he did with the series.

This version was alright, though it couldn't compare with Carpenters. There are too many synthetic sounds added into this version of the classic theme trying to make it sound scary, it is not exactly necessary. It was the errie simplicity of Carpenter's version that had you constantly on edge, not the sounds of chains dragging along the ground...
