Two things wrong with this video,1. He is referring to a CNN GALLUP POLE, which only exists for swaying the opinion of the public, nothing more. 2. Why is it when they talk about pollution, they only show steam stacks? Since there are no more smoke stacks, I guess it looks like smoke to us passive sheep.
And you really think it's appropriate to use a Revolutionary War term to apply to an EPA measure?? That's just ridiculous. The EPA limit is nohting compared to what the new americans had to go through with britain.
Causing mass misery by limiting the use of fossil fuels, the foundation by which all the recent advances in civilization are built upon, is not as bad as what Britain did to us?
You need to check your history. The american people back then were a lot less subservient to government tyrants.
Don't Republicans and conservatives make a big stink about personal responsibility?? Why then do you try to absolve yourselves of any responsibility for attacking AGW????
Look, we can certainly take steps to reduce costs, but if AGW is real, and I think there may be some evidence, and the uncertainty is high, some action will have to be taken. I know you guys in AS don't like the idea of being responsible for this, but it's gonna happen sooner or later. We're gonna have to bear some costs; it's just a cold hard fact of reality. Let's limit the costs and deal with it, not whine like babies. I mean, what do you expect, emissions-cutting to be free???
Are there any anti-emissions measures you guys DO support, or are you just gonna give me the old "climategate proves AGW is a scam, so we don't have to take responsibility"? Come on! There's so much uncertainty on the issue of global warming that I think it's best that we take SOME minimal action (emphasis on the word "minimal) just in case. Some say it's BS; others, through their own honest research, conclude it's true. Who do we believe? Let's just go forward with some measure.
You guys will come up with any dumb excuse to cut pollution and emissions. God, it's insane. Look, I support free markets, but sometimes there are problems that the market clearly won't solve on its own. I mean, cap and trade is perhaps the best option on the table right now. What else do you support that'll cut emissions reasonably while keeping costs low??
And stop lying about cap and trade costing us so much, esp. in jobs. Reasonable estimates say your claims are wildly overblown.
Cap and trade is one of the few good emissions-cutting market programs. It's NOT socialism! Not by any stretch. When I hear that claim from some conservatives, I have to wonder if they even know what socialism is.
And stop misusing the term TAX to fit every fucking policy you don't like. It's NOT a tax to cap emissions! It's a regulation. There's a difference.
You guys'll oppose ANY carbon-cutting measure b/c it "costs money." It's insane! I'm sorry, but things like this have some costs. We'll have to deal with it and find ways to limit those costs, not bitch and whine like the costs are fixed. We've dealt with big costs like this before, and we need to stop being pussies and making goofy names like "cap and tax."
it hard to believe most of them (55%) want to be slave in the future. well, we are all financial slave today. they have no technology to measure carbon/oxygen cycle, but they will tax/control it?.
The world is not facing a catastrophe. There is no global warming due to man. The current catastrophe is the transfer of manufacturing jobs from the US to China and Mexico and the theft of wealth by the con men who came up with the idea of financial derivatives and "sub-prime" mortgages.
You don't know that CO2 is an infrared absorber?
And that there is not enough oil in the planet to guarantee that our children will drive gas powered cars? ...
EPA laws are created to ensure that our air is not like Mexico city's (duh).
We are in a transition from a declining oil infrastructure to ???
Help us make laws that make it economical to build ROBOTIC SOLAR PV ASSEMBLY LINES (Jobs are in the installs!).
Republicans and tea baggers, WHAT'S THE BACK UP PLAN !!!
Closed cycle nuclear, too!

@ozz the third thing wrong is that Vince said, "We have a democracy".
We, The People, have a Constitutional Republic. We have democratic processes, but we are a republic of laws.
