Hey I love to hate the Veyron but I call it like I see it. The Veyron is a 16 cylinder torque monster which gives it the top end kill. The GT maybe faster on a 50mph roll to say 150mph.
@Saifow Hennessey Performance names their tuning packages based on the approximate amount of horsepower the vehicle has with that package. So this model Ford GT was upgraded by Hennessey Performance to have about 1000 horsepower. Hence the name, GT 1000.
@Saifow They don't list prices on their website, but an upgrade like this will run you well over $50,000 USD, I believe. They're most well known for their Dodge Viper mods, which is basically where they (Started by John Hennessey, but it's a lot more than just him now) got their start. They can build you a 2,000 HP Viper if you got the money. Now he's into all types of cars. You can check out their website, just google "Hennessey" and it should be the first link.
@Saifow Oh btw, they've essentially completed their first unique car, the Venom GT. It's based off of the Lotus Exige, but is very heavily modified. Weighs about 2,700 lbs and comes with up to 1,200 horsepower, thanks to a twin turbo Chevy pushrod V8. It's a Veyron killer for sure.

@officereagle , The ford Gt is a truly awesome car, the handling is incredible, its like driving a go cart. I have been lucky enough to buy one new, and I dont drive it much, but when i do its like nothing on the road. I take it to local cruise nights and car shows around the jersey shore. Sometimes when I stop for gas people will come up to me and ask what kind of car it is. I usually have to show them the big Blue oval in front they dont believe its a Ford. all the best.
That's fucking sick. 1000hp back in the late 80's even would be way too unstable and out of control to drive on the streets. Because back then (hardly 20 years ago) technology was alot different. Also because back then, 1000hp was made from a big block Chevy with a four foot high-rise manifold and a quad-hole blower and alcohol, lol.

and the posts about gas mileage are wrong as well. just because it has 1000hp doesnt mean it gets hella low MPG. As long as your not getting on it you will do just fine. The turbos allow for a more uniformed mixture of air to fuel so mpg on this car just cruising would not drop too much. Some cars actually get better gas mileage with the addition of a turbo kit will not boosting it every chance you get. It has a lot to do with the driver. Just clearing some things up that i believe to be wrong
@GrimWS6 the turbo actually does infact increase gas mileage in most cases. Interesting how the same performance features we put on race cars actually increase gas mileage :p
its not called a Ford GT its a Ford Ford GT and horse power doesnt mean anything when talking about top speed. the top speed is determined by many factors aerodynamics, Gearing and horsepower to get it past all the wind resistance you will be facing. Its possible to hit 270 mph but in a street car like this its not very safe. this car was not meant to go that fast and will most likely be unstable. This is just my two cents of what i know but im sure someone with more experience will chime in

I have been lucky enough to buy one new, and I dont drive it much, but when i do its like nothing on the road. I take it to local cruise nights and car shows around the jersey shore. Sometimes when I stop for gas people will come up to me and ask what kind of car it is. I usually have to show them the big Blue oval in front they dont believe its a Ford. all the best.

and the posts about gas mileage are wrong as well. just because it has 1000hp doesnt mean it gets hella low MPG. As long as your not getting on it you will do just fine. The turbos allow for a more uniformed mixture of air to fuel so mpg on this car just cruising would not drop too much. Some cars actually get better gas mileage with the addition of a turbo kit will not boosting it every chance you get. It has a lot to do with the driver. Just clearing some things up that i believe to be wrong

its not called a Ford GT its a Ford Ford GT and horse power doesnt mean anything when talking about top speed. the top speed is determined by many factors aerodynamics, Gearing and horsepower to get it past all the wind resistance you will be facing. Its possible to hit 270 mph but in a street car like this its not very safe. this car was not meant to go that fast and will most likely be unstable. This is just my two cents of what i know but im sure someone with more experience will chime in

Of course they no longer make them, but when they did it was produced there. They may have been partly designed elsewhere but they are built in Detroit.

Fulton became interested in steamboats in 1777 when he visited William Henry of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, who had earlier learned about James Watt's steam engine on a visit to England!

And I didn't say Fulton created the first steamboat, he created the first commercial, mass-people carrier steamboat, which Mr Henry never had. Hence the credited right go to Mr Fulton.

As for the Top 10 in education, there are UK institutions there BUT even though its mostly american in the top 10, those top 10 are loaded with FOREIGN students. 90% of your population will never be able to afford the top uni's in the USA BUT :
in the UK education is free, so if you have brains, you can make it to the top universities, unlike the USA
