  • not a pair of dry panties in the audience

  • Wow! That's unbelievable!

  • omg.. i find this really fuckin scary

  • absolutely AMAZING english!! Wow. Blew me away.

  • Did he go through puberty twice?

  • @KevinTheNoobie why the question?

  • @KevinTheNoobie :D :D

  • too low. He could climb a few steps and still be more than low enough for this song. He's great, but a performance in such low key like this becomes more of a parody, like a caricature. At least it's very interesting, like a performance driven by risk and challenging limits.

  • @aurelio1204 this whole program is meant to be fun though, theres no limits here :P

  • @aurelio1204 The absolute pitch is rather irrelevant. As long as he sticks to his tessitura, it's fine. And he appears to do just that, if ignoring the short sub-D gropings.

  • I could hit those notes when I was 14.

  • You're a genius Nils!!!!!!!!!!

  • is this nils? I want to be the goose!..

  • @ZEROofLOD Ahaha I'm almost 16 and I can only sometimes hit that low D. Why would it suck? ._.

  • @FFPianoDude cus my voicce lk vibrateswen i speak. its annoyin...

  • Comment removed

  • @ZEROofLOD Good bass voice is rare, so be proud and think about making use of it, if music is something you're interested in.

  • @ZEROofLOD i can hit those notes too, just that I can't sing.

  • who is he??he sung that superb, very black sounding

  • Excellent and unexpected!

  • He's awesome! So beautiful. My baritone is just nothing with his low notes

  • Omg, wonderful!!! Wich note does he hit at 0:53?

  • @thomy753 D2

  • Tnx for the upload!!!

  • Who is he?

  • @Congest OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD MAN RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVER!

  • Kul att se en norsk version av Så ska det låta. Gillar denna version av Old Man River också..han är väldigt säker på de låga tonerna (bör väl vara ett C).

  • This guy is awsome! He should make an album with other similar songs. Love the joke at the end: "och dette är då sången om varfor gammle men icke hopper höjd (spelling); old man river :)

  • This makes me smile...Truly Wonderful voice...Like Ivan Rebroff:-))))

  • amazing. and wasn't expected at all! it was crazy, i realize there's no accent when singing(usually) but this was a prime example!

  • Anyone know the key?

  • F of course

  • @Maplekid86 More like G. The low note is a D.

  • Damn, this still gives me shivers, even 2 months ago I was shaking on the chair xD

He reminds me of Duke Lito of Frank Herbert's "Dune".

  • @sicness4ooooo Duke Leto? bald with deep voice? or Gurney Halleck, played by Patrick Stewart in the movie

  • Don't know mate, haven't seen the movie yet.

I've only read the books and that's how I imagined Duke Leto (except the baldness).

  • omg...

  • HOLY FUCK!! 0:46 , 1:30 , 2:19 , deepest voice EVER!!!!

  • It was great though don't discount yourself you sound great

  • quite funny what comes up when you search your own name on youtube! cracking bass voice!

  • Amazing!

  • This guy is ausome. Such a powerful voice. Gives me shivers everytime I hear it. Everytime I watch it I try to imitate it rather hard LOL. Great performance. Keep up the great work.

  • This really is a deep voice!!

    Love it!!!!!!

  • Is this guy a musician? i can do a bass voice but i wish i could do it like him :P

  • and i can do a bass voice like him the same

  • i don't think it's basso profundo. Basson Profundo can go much lower than that. He's a good old bass

  • Good opera basses can sing down to low C, no bass who has opera lessons in middle-west europe can REALLY sing more lower! Just with some hot air out of their mouthes-.-

  • Very good voice, I can't quite hit that low! :)

  • Such a powerful song

  • what a great performance!!

  • WOW...he sings perfect English!

  • No he doesn't.

  • basso profondo

  • Shit, ever since I heard the gentleman sing it on America's got talent, I have been pretty inspired. Definitely a song to sing!

  • What would Simon Cowell say?

  • oh??! your dad can go like six notes lower? then your dad's probably a cow... ahahaha!!! =p

    nice one nils..Ü

  • human can sing lowest than a cow.

  • @tomaspepino LOL... What about a bull?

  • maybee a rusian .

  • @tomaspepino LOL... Have a good day

  • what ?

  • Russian Basso Profondo: The Lowest Voices .

    Yes they can.

  • @tomaspepino Yes I agree with you

  • @tomaspepino

Oh yeah, there the masters ^^ some special choir singers... its so amazing...I´m a opera bass and I have a solid bottom D, but they break all rules, I love it!!

  • @SuperDarchangel how old are you? Your an Opera Bass and a D is ur bottom? Am I missunderstanding. Well that Gives me hope, Im 21 and we still are not sure if I am a Bass Baritone or just a Baritone, I bottom out at a D and then have a powerful C in fry tone, then an audible B and A in Fry. Will I be a full Bass when I mature?

  • @jqt5040

I´m 26 , it´s great, when you´re able to fix voice focus at an low C or H, but bass-baritones can do that as well like Quasthoff and London. Even Dieskau had a very good E, who was a baritone & some basses just have good F´s like Pape. Its not decisive, what notes you can sing, but where at what tesitura your voice feels best & comfortable F.e. I also can sing high G´s and even high A, but I couldn t do it all the time, its not natural for me,you understand ?

  • @SuperDarchangel- I am most powerfull at a C3, down to G and F has a clearer rounder tone but much less power, Below that I start to get more of a tiny fry sound and have a big loss in power until the C2 which becomes pretty strong in volume but is mostly fry. I too can head sing a high G but its not good quality and is not confortable to sustain. Did you notice a drop from age 21 to 26?

  • @jqt5040

Yeah sure, your high notes will become better and safer, if you have a good teacher. As a bass it´s much more important that you can sing a solid high F than a low C because its too low and it wouldnt cover the orchestra sound, thatswhy there arent many Low C´s in opera, if you have a powerful and round E or Es, it´s enough- also Baron Ochs and Osmin require low D and Des, but these are exceptions. Bass repertoire isnt to big, youll sing often Wagner,Verdi&Mozart-you need high E & F .

  • not a joke, is true, a musician will know that .

  • @tomaspepino I know... I'm just saying Have a good day

  • the hard thing is to mantin a low note eg: the low D

  • A very lively and accomplished performance well done I like it

  • Wow! Seems you dad can get a world's record.

  • i can sing like that

  • You better listen to Lawrence Beaman on America's Got Talent sing Old Man River. And let's not forget Melvin Franklin of Temptation fame -- they are both on youtube.

  • Ah sounds very soothing. Except for the lower parts he sounds like a Tuba LOL!

  • every man can do it just try it

  • 1:30 low D its really cool

  • nice double the low C and low D

  • whats his lowest note WRITE BACK

  • JD has the deepesat voice in the world not even tim storms JD beats him by 5 notes

  • Souds like me..:D

  • he's a very handsome man and has an interesting voice but here he's just joking:

he does the low notes throaty and super long on purpose which may be good for showing off but not for the song itself.

I'd like to listen to him singing something else and seriously

  • i can sing like that...;)

  • While on subject of rivers, this'd be best described as Queen of the Nil.

  • I don't like his low notes, have a strange thing, obviously not comfortable for him.

And that color... and the phrases, don't like this interpretation.

  • Contrary to another poster's opinion, I think that the phrasing is outstanding. It may not be the way that Paul Robeson first did it in the late '20s, but it demonstrates great understanding of the song and its themes. Note how the singer literally couldn't stay seated when he went into the most dynamic portion of the song. First-rate.

  • well thats not bad but he is nothing if you think of jd summer, ivan rebroff

and the deepest voice on earth

    TIM STORMS

  • You know. It's fine to let your vocal talents shine. But the sad thing is this guy has no ability to phrase. It's a big vocal bravado, with no clue for the passion or dynamics for the lyrics.

  • I just love him. So wonderful.. and so handsome.

  • the guy is a JEWEL, where is he from, pardon my ignorance.....

just by his looks is already pleasant to the eye, and with that voice.......wow

  • I agree. He has the total package. I'm friends with him too, and he is also one of the nicest persons I've encountered!

  • what happens to nils at the beginning?

  • Close-to-death experience... it's what lower tones do ;)

  • close-to-death experience?? what do you mean?

  • he reaches heaven for a second ;) The song is friggin' amazing.

  • ahhh, yes, it's a great song and he does an awesome job with it.

  • a guy with a better voice than you.

  • wow, that guy is hot

  • Not a bad voice. I would rather hear him sing it up a 3rd.

  • to OympicSinger001: I believe he's in 'A-flat' and begins on the 'E-flat' below mid'C' as 1st note & probably B-flat above mid 'C' as the highest note in this rendition.

He's like a nice enough guy, affable, good looking, just that 'vocal technicians' tend not to reach me much. The song is one of Americas best, and here it's treated as mere vocal exercise. I much prefer singers who 'connect', ( with their audience and their material),esp. considering this is first rate material.

  • low notes are throaty burps,

  • not bad for a tv show but compare to Wichniakov he sounds like a kid just pubescent.

  • Incredible, he could shatter mountains with that deep voice.

  • omg your lows are so rich. Usually in a bass 2 like him, the lows sound like someone is burping. But this was rich. Good vibrado, and good breath support

  • so rich, bass, and powerful . . and interesting interpretation

  • Thats amazing!

  • Not a good singer???!!! First of all, I know his music very well at this point, and he can in fact sing quite high. he has a wonderful falsetto. And I beg to differ with you about his abilities. Nils is one of the most talented singers I have heard, not to mention the fact that he has a magnetic presence and wonderful, sweet-natured personality. It is just so unkind to write a comment like that and you should be ashamed.

  • second that... youtube is too much about hate for anything to be appreciated without all this bummer parasitism.

  • i wish i could go that low but the lowest i can go is a C two octaves below middle C

  • He doesn't go lower than C2. What are you talking about?

  • i mean going that low in full voice my lowest note in vocal fry is G three octaves below middle C

  • I call bullshit. Post a video and we'll see.

  • i have posted videos of me singing old man river

  • so Paul Robeson was a tenor??????????????????????

so a middle C is a high note??????????????????????

I didn,t say tenor high notes, I was referring to high notes within his own range. A bass should be able to sing an F.

if you don't know how to sing high notes WITHIN YOUR OWN RANGE, you don't know how to sing.

  • weather he its the higher notes or not this is my favorate version of the song, i really wish i could sing that low. this man is a legend

  • I guess you know how everyone's voice on the planet works yeah? Are you some supreme vocal expert?, everyone is different, thats what makes singing so interesting, who gives a shit about your classifications and what not?, how it sounds is the bottom line not if you can scale tall buildings, and yes i am a singer so it's not a bullshit opinion, and this sounds good.

  • he's very cute, but not a good singer. The reason he sings it so low (much lower than paul robeson, william warfield, george london, etc.) is because he hasn,t learned to sing high notes, in other words, he hasn,t learned to sing. oh well. at least he's cute.

  • Beacause you don't know anything about music shut up.If you think that high notes is singing.Bass baritones can't sing high notes if they are not trained for years. He's not a tenor

  • you really are an idiot, Im a bass and its not like you start singing bass and the better you get the higher you go. you have to work very hard to sing bass or baritone

  • your basically talking bollocks. no you didn't say middle C is a high note, you just said high notes, and as middle C is not a high note you must mean higher then that, but he's a bass. you also say he hasn't leaned to sing, well he dint just wake up one mornin able to sing that low did he? i bet he's worked his ass off for that voice. if you think you can do it better lets hear it. post a response.

  • Listen to some of his other stuff. He can hit higher notes just fine, it's just his interpretation of it.

  • great voice! but, is that Ted Nugent sitting over there?

  • Whata deep voice.

  • Yeah really.

  • sweet.

  • Very good.:O Hit almost every tone. Dived to deep sometimes and didn't manage to rise to the last tone. But the refrain he did amazing!

  • Nils is married to a woman for your information.

  • Owned LOL

  • need some ice for that burn?

  • you need a new gaydar dude.

  • THAT'S MACCA!!!!
