  • The thing about soundtracks, they're hard to play when your not alone without seeming weird, but they're still really moody.

  • I like the melody.

  • this song would sound awesome if it was played backwards wouldn't it? hahaha sound so nightmarish!

  • what genre of music would this be considered?

  • this song in the movie plays when one of the soldiers is talking to a dead person in the desert and bury's the corpse and hes laughing/going nuts or something? lol at night

  • @HockeyDarkness22 Actually, it plays when they first encounter the burning oil wells, when Swoff says, "the Earth is bleeding". I don't think any music is playing when the guy is talking to the corpse. If there is, it's much more subdued than this. And he's not laughing when he's ordered to bury the corpse—just pissed off that no one else seems to be as flippant toward a man's death as he is.

  • I like it man.

  • It's raining oil. It's raining oil fellas. You ever see that movie 'Giant'? You've seen the movie 'Giant'. James Dean, man. "My well came in, Bick. I'm rich, Bick. Richer than you."

    Went so well.

  • its raining oil! haleluja, its raining oil! haleluja!

    lol

  • Jarhead was such an awesome film. Makes me want to play CoD alot though X3

  • This part of the soundtrack always reminds of the scenes where the main marines are walking in the desert with the oil fields lit up & the sky black, with just bits of light shining through. Most visually impressive scenes in the movie.

  • they used explosions to put out the oil wells believe it or not

  • @8cottyo1 thats the easiest way, you burn all the oxigen so the oil wont burn long enough to not light up again.

  • Mythbusters tested one method: to detonate high explosives by the fire. I might have seen that method used in There Will Be Blood.

  • "shut your trap man that shit's poison"

  • You ever see that movie Giant, you know Giant James Dean Mayne!!!

  • Thank you for the soundtrack :D

  • Being in the army is not an easy job, rewarding, but hard on the head.

  • @RedSarcov No shit sherlock

  • @RedSarcov well, in jarhead the film it's the marines

  • why are they shipping in the oil?

  • @Amorstopineed sadam hussein lit up most of the oil wells in iraq when the marines invaded. the oil and smoke would rise up into the air, some of the oil would get trapped in the smoke and it "rained" down on the marines.

  • good movie. GREAT BOOK!!

  • Dude when I listen to this soundtrack I wanna join the marines. Sucks cause I have major asthma. No branch will take me.

  • Great movie. Great song.

  • Kick ass movie, my favorite song from it, this movie really is dark and awesome, definitely underappreciated.

  • I wanted the see the " Pink Mist"

  • I'M RICH BICK!!!! Richer'n you!!!!

  • para apagar los incendios de pozos petroleros, se debe efectuar una explosión en la boca misma del pozo, para agotar el oxígeno y así sofocar las llamas, en kuwait duraron casi 3 años apagando los pozos que incendio Hussein

  • gonna play this while i'm in Afghanistan in 3 years

    Canadian forces.

  • hey thanks for uploading soundtracks from jarhead .. they are awesome. :)

  • No problem. I'll put the rest of the album up eventually. I'm glad people appreciate it.

  • la banda sonora de ests pelicula es simplemente de excelencia ,,,,,no siempre una pelicula esta a la alteza de su musica y veceversa

  • What is the end song of it? like there in the Bus if the all come back - i want that part plawks <3

  • does anybody know how they put out those fires? im pretty curious because thats gas and all and would be pretty dangerous. what, did they have to cut the pipes or something?

  • It usually involves turning the feed to that pipe off and using a flame retardant to put out the burning oil. Not very complicated and difficult and messy.

  • @CormoranTick Actually no. They make a larger explosion on or near the fire, that takes away the oxygen that the fire feeds from. :)

  • @CormoranTick i seen a video on the net on how they put out them fire was pretty cool they got an old airplane jet engine on full power and sprayed water into the engine and it forces it out the back mega fast and kills the fire was only a test so dunno if they put it into real life use but none the less it was sweet and a good idea

  • Yeah it was oil I dont know I mean it were oil fields in the earth so i guess it went out when there was no oil left??

  • I think they developped a special technique in which they spayed wather in a way on the fire it would not get enough oxigen and extinguish.

  • @koalashooter1

No. Sadam wanted the oil but when he saw that the Americans were winning he order his men to burn the fields so the Amercans would be left whit nothing only sand and rocks.

  • @DOSU344 And it was to crate poor visibility, crate havoc and cause no flight zones, and if I cant have no one can thing to

  • @koalashooter1 oil..

  • @rockerkm3 yeah, whatever. its the same to me cause i couldnt care less. im only 15.

  • @koalashooter1 I also heard they set up a larger fire next to it and that snuffs out the original flame. They then cut the furl from the larger fire.

I think cormorantick is right actually.

  • @koalashooter1 they used explosives to suffocate them. no joke, the explosive goes off near by and uses all the oxigen, no oxigen no fire, just oil after that.

  • @koalashooter1 in the war we used dynamite to extinguish the fires, you have to cause a break in the flames from the oil

  • @koalashooter1 sometimes they use explosives though, to blast away the oxagen

  • @koalashooter1 they would dampen the fire over several days with a retardant and then set off an explosive charge next to the well. The absence of air after the explosion would put out the fire. they would then move in to cap the well. correct me if i am wrong, i saw this several years ago on a documentary on the History Channel.

  • @koalashooter1 Actually what they do is they set off an explosive, near the fire. It sucks out all of the oxygen from the fire because the explosion needs and it stops of the fire. I knew a guy that did that as his job. I was curious myself.

  • @koalashooter1 you set off a huge explsion right next to it.I forget what kind. Its terradite or sumthing.

  • @koalashooter1 It might have been computer animations. Correct me if i'm wrong.

  • If Sadam had never burned those Oil Fields who knows how much less gas could be right now.

    That fucking asshole

  • Sincerely doubt Saddam burned a significant amount of oil.

  • @jrdaly83 He burned alot of it which could have in fact been a great supply of oil

  • Comment removed

  • Yup, I was dead on. It is estimated those fields burned oil at a loss of 6 million per day. The United States uses over 20 million per day. It is a lot, but completely insignificant when compared to global usage.

The fires burned for 8 months, or roughly 245 days. So, 1.47 billion barrels were lost. About 90 million are consumed every single day, worldwide. So about, 16 days worth of oil was lost. Insignificant.

  • Insignificant...

1.47 BILLION barrels of oil is alot of oil, and to a country thats economy is based on oil was complelty devastating, 1.47 billion of oil might not sound so important to you, but to the US and his allies was a huge defeat, due that the oil could had been used for advancing forces, many of the American forces were in their thin lines of oil cause of the fields, not to mention that if we were to stop them, it could had made a difference on todays global economy, insignificant no.

  • @DOSU344 It is insignificant. 16 days, in comparison to decades of supply is insignificant. You wouldn't change economic or energy policies if you discovered 16 days worth of oil supply. It was, statistically an insignificant amount.

  • Roughly the same amount that there is now.

  • I think the movie did such a great job shooting this scene with the oil rain, it gave such a surreal atmosphere in a real place, and this song really complimented that surreal feel to it. One of my favorite movie scenes of all time.

  • close your fucking mouth swoff, that shits poison.

  • welcome to the suck

  • It's raining oil,it's raining oil fellas.

  • @airsoftmaster22 I'm Rich! Richer'n you!!!

  • this scene is so fucking cool

  • i love this film

  • The earth is bleeding

  • haha i no huh

  • lol, never thought of it oil as "bleeding earth" but cool thought.

  • It's a quote from the movie

  • @MaXWB89 ... it's raining oil.... let's go dig some holes :D

  • @MaXWB89 "Well you better get used to it, cuz we gonna be living in it."

  • Awesome.

  • This film is brilliant.
