  • What was it about the 70s and TV misfits? Frank Spencer, Selwyn Froggitt, Benny from Crossroads to name a few.

  • I remember it yeah :)

  • Ah..... Those golden memories of fabulous television.

    The legendary Bill Maynard.

    Excellent. - "Magic"

Look on my channel to see my "Greengrass" Dog!

    Kind regards, Gary.

  • I have uploaded a complete show from the 3rd series

  • Magic Our Maurice !!

  • I received the complete series 1 and 2 on dvd this morning but I can't watch them as they are a gift for my ole dad. Perhaps if I'm good I may get a look. At 48 I remember them well and enjoyed the simple humour much like Open all Hours. Cor Lynda Barron!

  • Was that recorded in someone's garage?!

  • Is this the programme where he found a wartime bomb and blew it up to make a swimming pool, or have i imagined that?

  • Alan Coren absolutely hated this show. Was it really that bad?

  • would also like to see a full episode... magic!!!

  • i thought i would look and see if anything was on youtube! i loved this programme. i always knew what was coming ... but everytime he lifted his bike and the wheels fell off, i just ended myself laughing!

  • Aw ! I really wanted to watch the whole show!

  • Brilliant! Can you post a whole show?

  • I could never work out how 'Our Maurice' could pull the lovely Lynda Barron armed only with his armchair & train set! Lucky bugger!

  • FWIW, this is from 1977, not "the early 80's"...

  • Hi Scottishwildcat!

You are completely spot on! It certainly was 1977, I was just 7 years old and I absolutely loved that show!

I had the pleasure of meeting Bill Maynard and got his autograph back in December 1976 - he was performing at Theatre Royal in Norwich and my dad bought him a pint - unfortunately I don't have that now as it was lost in a house move. Bill was such a lovely, natural man and am glad he's still around!

  • fucking brilliant

  • That's gotta be Bill Dean AKA Harry Cross from Brookside singing lead??

  • Yep, that is indeed Bill Dean singing the theme. He wrote the lyrics too.

  • I think this was just an ITV copy of Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em.

  • magic our morris!

  • Dude, that TOTALLY takes me back to my childhood :-) Most things that I watched on TV as a kid are now coming out on DVD. I'm gonna look out for this too :-) Selwyn Groggit for Prime Minister :-)
