Dudes, calm, in real life, the Hecklor and Koch version of the M14 assault is both semi/auto/and single shot. In real life all guns can be auto/semi/single.
they put the M 16 in burst beacause out of all the guns in cod 4 the M 16 is most commonly used as burst out of all the others so they put it as burst to be different instead of fully auto like the others and the G3 well its semi auto because theres not many more semi autos

@wADe254 um acrually M-14's can be full auto they actually used some that were fully automatic and for the M1 grand seriously use some logic

I have no idea why the m16 and g3 are automatic in story mode,lol and are not in online....mabie the makers didnt notice that.

They put the M16 in burst at online because the gun is too overpowered. G3 sucks ether auto or semi,

thats in story. if you pick up a g3 it's automatic aswell.

Kyle, M16's are fully automatic in story mode. Same with the G3.
